Finally got our bin emptied today. Just as we were going out, the bin men came.
Been into town, more for something to do,than shop.Did buy some things though.
Enjoyed our dinner out, hubby had full english and i had roast beef dinner.
Very mucky underfoot, with all the grit and sand that had been put down.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Student arrived safe and sound 2.30 ish. Very nice and polite, just directed her to home bargains 😁 she is here until May. No doubt will team up with our neighbours student from the same language school. Spaghetti carbonara tonight, a taste of home.

I hope you are having fun with the little ones Qwerty
We went out to John Lewis and bought me a new phone! Oma will understand my problems as she previously had the same model. The storage was almost full and there was nothing to be done to make much difference. This one has twice the storage. As my contract on the current one runs out in November, I couldn't hang on until then. I can always sell the old one once the contract ends and go on sim only contract.
Anyway, we did that, bought some croissants for me to take to my friend when I go for brunch tomorrow, and treated ourselves to coffee and cake in JL cafe.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Also ironed the fresh bedding to change tomorrow , its hanging over the handrail on the landing so as not to crease.
Floors washed and bedroom dusted , Bathroom scrubbed out
Sounds a lot but I have done it in batches over the day so not as tired as I usually am after doing it all
Going to put PJ's on and just watch TV now
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Evening ladies all is well here kids been asleep about an hour, they were tired as neither had a sleep during the day and we were in the garden playing snowballs and such , red rosy cheeks when they came in so fresh air will have done them good. Hot chocolate and choccie biscuits to follow then we made a cafe, J charged one hundred pounds for tea and cake , iplayer for 1 hour all about the planets, M was a nurse as Minnie Mouse had a bad toe ! Cottage pie and yorks pud and veg for tea gobbled up , home made rice pudding J didn’t want his so M finished his off as well as her own and he had chocolate mousse admitted it’s not filling so he had 2 mini rolls and a cup of tea as well 🤣
Bathtime was shall we say wet and that was just me hot milk for bed and they had story read by torchlight only J fell asleep holding it and M took over he never did hear the end of the story. All is quiet and I won’t be long hitting that pillow , I don’t know how the parents manage !!!

Lots of birds around this morning, poor things must be so hungry. I will clear a space on the path and put something out for them and on the bird table too. Have a good day everyone 🙂
Enfys - I looked out yesterday and decided it wasn't worth getting the camera out. The sky was very heavy and the light very flat, plus it was too tricky to take the car out. I'm becoming a fair weather photographer - but when we drove through the Ornamental Drive today I wished I had!!! I've been feeding the birds several times a day - if I put too much out at once it attracts flocks of jackdaws and they frighten off the smaller birds, so I try to spread it out a bit.
Oma - Storm will have to come and give lessons to Eva in how to enjoy the snow - she was very cautious unless we actually played with her!
Mimi - it sounds as though you're getting well organised with your new pc.
LG- pleased to hear your student arrived safely, and how thoughtful of you to give her a taste of home with the carbonara. I bet she really appreciated that.
Qwerty - what a great time the twins had! My goodness, they eat well. Hopefully they will sleep in a bit in the morning - I'm sure you could do with a good night. The parents manage because they have to, and they're a bit younger than us grannies!
We decided to go shopping - supermarket and garden centre. We thought if the roads were bad we could just turn round and come home, but OH's car is 4 wheel drive. We decided to avoid the most direct route across the Forest and went down a very picturesque road called the Ornamental Drive. It took us out on to a busy main road which we knew would be gritted etc, and in fact it was fine. Then it started to rain, as Enfys said, and most of the snow has gone. Sainsburys was packed - cars queueing to get in, hardly any trolleys, and staff rushing round stacking the fruit and veg shelves at break neck speed. I stocked up on bird seed in the garden centre and got a lovely planter of spring flowers as part of DIL1's birthday present. We called in on DS2 and family on the way home for a cuppa and got back about 4 o'clock, then realised we'd had no lunch!!

Good morning everyone.
As I look out of the window now it is snowing very lightly.
Qwerty, how did the sleepover go. I'm impressed with them going off to sleep. Much better than my 5 year old GS last Saturday!
It is a day of eating out for me!
As OH was to play in a golf competition today I was to meet my friend, but then we decided not to risk the bad weather going out. I am going to hers for brunch. OH's golf was of course cancelled after I made this plan. Now she and a couple of golfing friends are going for a walk.
DD2 invited us to lunch, which of course wouldn't work, however when I explained our day, she said come over anytime and we'll eat at 5 ish
