        Good morning ladies.

No sno, no frost here, but plenty of water. Our front and back gardens are waterlogged and the cowl has blown off our chimney into the front garden! It's been quite a wild, stormy night, but is definitely milder!

Qwerty - you're right! Catching up with the washing is one thing - I'm going to ban the "I" word at least until next year!!

Take care all you people with ice and snow.

I've got the first load of washing in, and I've got to place an order for dog food (it's like planning menus for a month!) and DS2 has asked me to do their order for Cooper as well. Oh dear, the responsibility of choosing food for both dogs is too much for my tired brain today!

Gem - so pleased you're feeling better. xx

No snow here but it was chucking it down with rain when I went out at 8am. So I did the baker, butcher, garden centre. quick trip around supermarket to get some bits and then home. I bought some minted lamb chops and they are so pungent I have had to double wrap them!

Q Sum1’s grandson also has scarlet fever. Hope the children are getting better. Looking forward to seeing my lot on the 2nd. Sadie and Joe both have ear infections apparently which is not good news for their flight home. Last time they went on a beach holiday they got ear infections, I said then that mum and dad should get them ear plugs as it is obviously the sea that is affecting them. Eldest called last night to see whe5e husband had assigned their seats but he couldn’t get them the ones he wanted for them as there were babies on board and they get priority (bulkheads).

Got to go, going to have a lurk around here and then wrap the wine packages and do some bits before husband gets home from work

Lurk all you like Zizi, have a lovely time with the family when they get back. I hope the children's ear infections don't cause any problems.

Scarlet Fever for the children is not nice, hope they are better soon. When I was a child you had to go to hospital and be isolated with SF.

Have a lovely time with the family clover, family in the panto sounds fun.

Snow almost gone, no frost today either. Might venture out later, BUT I HAVE ONLY JUST GOT UP, had to shake myself awake, feel like a zombie atm.

Pouring rain here , just catching up with the washing . Shepherds pie from left pver roast beef was a hit here , still some of it for lunch today
Sympathy for the Scarlet fever victims , I was in fever hospital for weeks with it, but my lot got antibiotivs and it cut the fever short , but it can still be nasty

Wrapped the wine presents, see picture. Vacuumed meat and put in freezer, tidied around, cleaned bathroom. Need to sort the ironing. Will send some to the fairy and do some myself.

Husband home from work, only a matter of time before the dulcet tones of his snoring start - when I say dulcet I am being sarcastic, he snores like a bruddy train going through a tunnel!

We didn't go out in the end. The fireworks will have to be bought tomorrow! We have mostly lazed around and have been experimenting the the Amazon Firestick we got for Christmas.
The snow stopped about midday I think.

Plant and Aggie, my mum had scarlet fever when she was 7 and was in hospital for weeks. She often talks about it now. I think it is much simpler and milder illness nowadays.

Nice to see you checking in from DD's Clover
Wine presents look nice Zizi. I bet you can't wait to see the children on 2nd.

Parcels look lovely ZIZI. Love the description of your hubby snoring.

When me and my coiusin were about 5, she had scarlett fever. I had to tested for it,
because i had been staying at their house. i didn't have it.
She was in hospital for 6 weeks. When my auntie took me to see her,
we could only wave through a window.

The snow wasn't half as bad as they said it would be.
                          Nearly all gone now,it's raining.

Gem I am really looking forward to seeing them. We don’t see enough of them week to week these days but when they have been away at an important time like Christmas made me feel sad. I am glad we went away as it meant I had my mind taken off them a bit.

Nan2 it wasn’t long before the train came to the platform!

One day, in the far distant future, I will plan a day, and that will be how it pans out!!!

It took me ages to sort out the dog food order (don't ask, but it did!). I put a second load of washing in and have only just remembered it! After lunch some friends called round with their 9 month old puppy who has just had her first season, so thinks she's a big girl now. Unfortunately her brain hasn't quite caught up and she was a bit vocal with Eva, but she took it in her stride. Then DS2 phoned to say could he and GS1 call in to collect an old computer tower we'd promised to GS. So it got to 7.15, I got dinner, then did a few other jobs and have just remembered the washing machine!!! I can't even remember what I put in there.

So far from having a great big pile of ironing I've got a few clothes hanging on the clothes airer! Actually, that's rather good, isn't it!!! I've solved the ironing problem.

I suppose children with scarlet fever were isolated like that because it's so infectious and we didn't have the antibiotics then. Let's hope those days never return.
