I was starting to get excited about making a corned beef pie - then realised we didn't have any corned beef in. I always used to keep a couple of tins in the cupboard at one time - a quick corned beef hash was my go-to emergency meal when lots of extra teenagers - all hungry - turned up unexpectedly!

Good morning all. Hope everyone is keeping well and warm and no one goes out today unless it is absolutely necessary.

Obviously it’s snowing here and we are unable to get out even if we wanted to. Luckily I had my Tesco order delivered yesterday so we are stocked up with plenty to eat. Poor cat can’t get out because the snow has drifted up against the door so she is having to use the litter tray. No ideal but needs must I suppose.
My new laptop arrived yesterday so today will be spent sorting that out installing Microsoft office and my new wireless printer on to it.


Welsh granny I love Welsh cakes I used to make lots of them when the DC were little. DD had Welsh cakes as part of her wedding favours. A little different but as the majority of the family and guests were Welsh or born on the English/Welsh boarders it was rather fitting.

We had more snow overnight and then it froze, so there's a top layer like a pie crust. It's frozen hard and Eva isn't too keen on walking on it.

After two lazy days, I'm going to wave the yellow thingy about and push the sucky up thing round. Maybe!!

No more snow has fallen here but our road still looks like a bumpy icerink!
Lots of schools still closed, but I checked GD's school website and it says it will open today. I was hoping to A - have GD for the day and B - not to have to drive out to pick her up! She will be glad that yesterdays Book Day can go on today though.
