Good moaning star shine, Grauntie says hello.
Nothing to report except the breaking of OHs double egg cup this morning. How sad.πŸ™„

          Morning ladies.

Hope hospital visits go well and others days are good ones.

I had to break the ice on the birds water this morning.I’d seen two birds nearly breaking their beaks on the ice

That's another brilliant thing about GRU....how Oma can support Enfys on a day like today because she's experienced days like her. Indeed how Oma must be feeling today too. There are some very strong women on here. Let us know how your OHs get on. Thinking of you.

Thank you Oma, as Nana said you know exactly how I feel. It should be ok but will feel better when it’s over.

Sunny here but very cold, and there are massive road works near the hospital...Joy!!

Morning everyone. I hope all hospital visit go well. Keep cosy everyone. As I write this the sun is pouring in through the window, but the birds are shivering! x

Hope the two hospital visits go well today.
Sounded like a nightmare night for you Gemini, he has a very active brain. Hide and seek before breakfast is definitely a no no.
All the family next door were together yesterday for lunch and of course little E. He is not so much like a baby now, more of a little boy. He has had a nasty cold but still had a smile. I didn't go in for lunch as I had a visit from DIL, she has just come back from Australia visiting a very good friend who is dying from cancer, very difficult visit for her. I have to go to have new hearing aids fitted this morning, new technology they say, we shall see.

I must get GD1 to fill my bird seed holders, I can't reach to get them down, I do hope they have got their forecast wrong and the bad weather goes elsewhere.

Plant, much as I don't like to critisise my DD's parenting skills (she is a wonderful mum) GS1 gets total attention and is played with and attended to all the time. The things they do before school amaze me! So, I have to gently tell him that Grandma needs to have breakfast before playing, or after school, wants a cup of tea. It think it does children no harm to learn that adults have needs and preferences too, and sometimes a child may have to wait rather than always do what they want. He is a lot better as he has got older, and always accepts what I say.
I hope the new hearing aids are a success.

It has snowed here twice this morning. Just before 9, and a few minutes ago. Nothing has settled though.

Oma best of luck with the hospital appointment , not sure about your taste in reading though, Screw Fix catalogue ? I'd rather thumb through a Lakeland catalogue . Each to his/her own I suppose .

Daisy I daren't refill the bird feeder as I would have to walk across the lawn and OH would have a hissy fit , walking on the grass when it is frozen with frost .

                      Nana hope interview goes well.

Enfys hope OH 's appointment goes OK.

Going to get my hair done today , hope the sun stays out so at least I will think its a lot warmer than it actually is.

Have a warm day ( if that's at all possible ) everyone

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Ah but we Scots were ecstatic Plant!! Could hardly bear to watch. SiL was up there on police duty( nice work if you can get it!!) and said it was the first time he'd been at Murrayfield and the first time in 19 years that Scotland had won the Calcutta Cup. Think he felt a bit of a jinx. I've suggested he goes to every England v Scotland match.

Beautiful sunshine here, but put your nose round the corner of the house and the biting wind hits you! Been to Church and apart from going out to garage to get veggies for dinner, that's me indoors for the rest of the day!

News from DS, says he's sore but not painful and he's resisting taking the painkillers. I can understand that because he had a drugs problem when he was younger and he's terrified of getting reliant on them again.

DD has just sold house and moving into rented accommodation because they haven't found anywhere else yet! Also looking at other jobs as her boss has moved and the new boss is, well I won't say how she described him! She doesn't suffer fools gladly does my DD. Wonder who she takes after...hmmmm!

Just found that I didn't post this when I thought I had....auld age, as my Granny used to say, disnae cum itsel'!!

Take comfort from the news that where DS is, they're expecting -15 over the next few nights!!!Brrr! Cold here and clouding over, but I have to get that hot flat thing out so that'll keep me warm. Fire is laid, so that might get lit later.

Hope all hospital visits go well today. It's the waiting and not knowing that's the worst. Such a relief when all your fears are unfounded.

Mimi - if you had a lawn like ours even your OH wouldn't worry about anyone walking on it. Oh the joys of having a female dog!

Wee Granny - I hope your DD soon finds a new job - and a new house. They are going to be busy!! Knowing your own mind is good - you brought her up to be a clever and confident woman!

Gem - I agree that it's not great for children to be the centre of attention all the time. Apart from adults having needs too (which children need to learn) I think it puts undue pressure on the child. I'd even go so far as to say it's why the oldest child in the family is often, but not always! the hard-working, conscientious one because they have a period of time where they are the sole focus of their parents' attention.

Plant - I'm sure your DIL was glad that she went out to see her friend, but it must have been painful saying goodbye. I bet she appreciated being able to tell you all about it.

Hospital appointment went very well, update on YEO.

Bitter cold here but lovely in the sunshine. When I went to pick Dexter up it was trying to snow but I don’t think it will last. We have no plans to go anywhere for the rest of the week, nothing important anyway, so will snuggle up in the warm. Two books I had ordered have just arrived in the post so I will be happy πŸ˜ƒ. Keep warm everyone ❄️❄️

Our went ok too , he still has a problem with loose bowel but expecting that to settle now hes off Antibiotics and fingers crossed getting back to normal ,
Got to go back next week just to check but pleased with his scans everything else as it should be

Gem I think GS1 is a very intelligent little boy full of energy but understands when Grandma says no she means no wont hurt him to listen to your rules.
Mimi I dyed my hair last night felt a lot better for having it done

Plant hope the hearing aids help so much better than they were years ago .

Its blooming cold out there , popping in to see my next door neighbour just now she's laid low with another cold this will be 5 since September I think she should be seeing the DR

Glad everything went well for B Oma, hope his poorly tum settles. I think antibiotics have that effect sometimes, I remember they did for my Mum. Well although it is Bitter cold,we had a pathetic flurry of snow, which amounted to nothing. I have been out to refill all the bird feeders, and de ice the bird bath and fill with fresh water. Walking the dog was short and sweet, the wind almost cut you in half, and I was wrapped up like Nannook of the north. So ladies, stay warm and safe if you have it worse than us softy southerners. 🐧 Have posted an update in Yeo.
