Food seems to be our major topic today. Well, the weather hasn't been up to much, has it!

The friend and her friend left just before lunch, so we had a sandwich and then took Eva out while the rain had stopped. She had a wonderful time and ran off lots of energy. It's lovely to have her back to normal.

Gem - your mum's gas fire is a nuisance, isn't it. Well done to OH for getting it going again. Fingers crossed she will go to your DD's tomorrow.

Oma and Nanto - what a lovely time you had.

Plant - the excitement of the wedding is building up.

GM - tut, tut, was that 'recovering' a hangover!! It sounds like a good evening.

Libra - DD may look like a spaceman, but it must be keeping her comfortable and is all to the good. I hope her sodium levels are still going down gradually.

Good morning, not looking a bad morning.
Plant, the wedding will soon be here.

Easy dinner today, just doing braising steak, mushrooms and onion in the slow cooker, and a few mashed potatoes.

Hope you all have a lovely Mothers day.

Good morning Nan2, lovely flowers there!

Good morning to everyone else, and Happy Mother's Day to all

Today I am thinking of my DD2's closest friend, for whom it will be the first Mother's Day without her mum, and of course everyone here who no longer has her mum.

I will see all my DDs and GC today, a nice treat! I hope I will also see my mum. I saw her yesterday and gave her her presents and card, but today we are all due to be together at DD2's house. It will do mum so much good to go, but she was still saying yesterday that she may not (because of the ear), but insisting I do. I hope she does, but I can do no more!!

Enjoy your day everyone, whether you are seeing family or just chilling out, relax as it is your day

Morning grandmas today is the mother role, I’ve already posted about it on some thread I’ve lost track of , we are out for lunch sil treat bless him, and a cuppa back at DDs . We had a lovely tea at DS yesterday steak and all the trimmings , and a disco after flashing lights the lot, the kids love a party. OH still in bed so no breakfast in bed but as he tells me I’m not his mother although it feels like that sometimes, enjoy your day anyway a well deserved day , for those who have lost their mums it can be a difficult day sending hugs
Forgot to mention no flowers as Dil bought me a big bunch for having the kids last weekend, but I did get some lovely Liz Earle face products I will be beautiful soon !

Good morning all. Hope you all have a lovely day. No plans here, so the same as usual I expect. It’s a lovely sunn y morning so I might be able to get out into the garden later, there’s a lot that needs tidying up. Also going to get the slow cooker on and get some dinners in the freezer.

Happy Mothers Day ladies, lunch at dear sons today. Saw eldest DD yesterday, my thoughts will be with youngest DD today. Not very pleasant spending it in hospital . Have a good day.

Good morning, ladies, and happy Mother's Day, whatever you are doing today. The sun's shining here and it feels a little less cold.

We've got nothing planned except a walk with DS2 and family and puppy, but OH has woken with a sore throat! He was sneezing a bit yesterday, so I'm hoping it won't be a dreadful repeat of what he had a couple of months ago.

I've got gammon to cook for tonight, but not sure what I will do with it yet. We haven't done any shopping this week, so it depends on what's in the fridge!

Happy MothersDay to all you Grannies.

I hope those out for meals or family get-together have a lovely time.

Usual walk for us then just general chores. I have a jigsaw on the go so might have a session on that.Three edge pieces have hidden themselves so the hunt is on.

Off to DS and DIL house for dinner today, he is cooking curry, his speciality. Not seen anyone next door yet but I expect DD will be in with a card soon. Lovely and sunny, I want to get in the garden and do some clearing up before I go to DSs but we are not eating till 5.00.

Back from our trip to London......feeling exhauseted! But it was a great! We were in a suite on 5th floor of hotel overlooking Trafalgar Square and DD had a table booked fro drinks on the rooftop terrace. It was a bit on the cold side, but after a couple of cocktails I didn't really feel the cold! Her boss and trainee were also up there with their Mums and Dads, so it was a jolly time!We were booked in a Chinese restaurant for dinner, and GS took my arm for the walk there!! In case I got lost ( fell over more like it!). One of the best Chinese meals I've had for a long time. Stopped off at the M&M place and got a bag of sweets for my Mother's Day treat and a final wine in the hotel. Woke up in the middle of the night with a raging thirst and had to raid the mini-bar!!....not for alcohol!!! However, no hangover this morning and managed brekkie before we got train back and got home just as the rain was starting. That's me for the day now apart from skype with DS later.

Birthday celebrations were saddened by news of OH's remaining aunt having passed away.It feels strange knowing that our generation are the 'old ones' now.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies !
