Enfys - I know you want OH home, but it's great that they are taking such good care of him, and you will both have an easier mind knowing that everything is spot on. Hopefully it won't happen again, but as you say, you have to work round the possibility and better to be an hour away from the hospital rather than a day. We're lucky living here - other people travel from all over the country to spend a week and we are here all year. btw - it's been trying to rain here!

Libra - your poor student hasn't seen much sunshine while she's been here, and I bet the Island looks pretty grey and miserable today.

Gem - have a good journey home.

Oma - I think if we were recarpeting our stairs and landing I'd have grey. Then of course we'd have to do the 3 bedrooms that are currently different colours. I can't see OH being keen to do that!

Clover - you could justify changing the carpet just because you want something different. We spend a lot of time in our houses and I think it's reasonable to get rid of something that has done good service but isn't what you really want. I get caught in the same sort of dilemma with carpets, curtains and furniture. OH sees a bargain, buys it and doesn't really think about how it will look - it's not important to him. It's only quite recently I've managed to get a desk I'm happy with. I've put up with a very beautiful old partners' desk which was designed long before computers - and probably before typewriters as well, and a very modern curved desk where there was nowhere to actually sit except in the curve - again, useless for typing. So now I've got a plain, pale wood desk from Ikea and it's perfect!

          Good afternoon each.
Glad to hear Mr Enfys has home in his sights, and hope everyone else is faring well.
I am so fed up with this weather. I am trying to ignore it.
Yesterday we babysat for DD2.Apart from OHs car breaking down on the M25 we had a lovely day. Dd2 can’t understand why the children are always so good for me but play her up all the time! 🤣
This weather is dangerous. I have just bought a filter coffee machine on line. Now wondering what else I REALLY need. 😁🙄
Do the best you can with what’s left of the day folks.

GM yes bad weather is rather conducive to on-line shopping.

DS was sorting out some stuff in his old room so I thought I would sort out my food store cupboard which is also upstairs. I’m pleased I did it but rather mortified to find a couple of things “ best before” 2011.

Hope Mr Enfys is home very soon. Days out are a good idea.

We've had some lovely sunshine today, but it's clouding over now.
              Dried the washing anyway.

Done hubby's driving licence renewal online this morning.
He's not 70 until July, but it's done now.
Car tax done this morning as well.

                Qwerty good for you

GM I'm sure there are lots of things if you look that you Really really need hahaha

Clover I'm sure lots of us have often found things like that, packets that slip down the back or just get forgotten , spice jars we never look at ,
My sister still has a old fashioned larder cupboard and I was helping her clear it out once and we found a bottle of cough syrup dated 1967 It was on the floor behind a tin of rusty paint , it was solid

Nanto well at least you got those out of the way

Enfys, pleased they are not going to send your husband home before they are happy.

Libra, I am going to the Isle of Wight on Thurs, weather not looking very promising.

Haven't been to a car boot sale, I suppose it it tempting when you see a bargain, even if it is something you don't need.

Daisy, I hope you and OH are having a restful weekend.

I have been to the cinema with GD today, film was good The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

I enjoyed the book, Plant, glad you enjoyed the film.

DH is home, fighting fit again. The doctor asked him if he’d like to be an advisor for the stoma patients as he was apparently helping one of the other guys decide what he could and couldn’t eat! The nurses are brilliant but to be honest, are so busy they don’t have time to go through everything with you. So, we shall see, but another good star for him ⭐️

Its bitterly cold here, the heating is on!
