Plant - it's miserable weather, isn't it. I'm back to cosy winter fleeces and the heating is on!


I've had a busy day! I needed to place an order for dog food, so thought I'd better check what we had in the freezer. Well it was untidy and icy, so I defrosted it, cleaned it and then put everything back neatly, making a list of what dog food we had as I went (not a very long list!). I then ordered food for the next month. Then I started on the house! Changed our bed, cleaned bathrooms and cloakroom, dusted and used the sucky up thing upstairs. Stopped for a quick sandwich, and then started on downstairs. So it's all 'done' even though some bits are done more thoroughly than others! Then OH came home (still decorating at DS2's) and said did I want to go to a car boot sale tomorrow morning. I politely declined, especially as it means getting up at 5.30am or something equally silly! As long as he's taking stuff to sell, and not buy, I don't mind waking him up and even getting him a cuppa! I can go back to bed for a few hours.

We dismantled the spare bed and took the carpet up then did the paintwork so its ready when SIL comes durig the week to lay carpet

Oma - it's surprising what amazing 'good' buys OH finds at auctions and car boot sales! I think Nanto's OH is the same. I dread it.

We having Grey , I have just had it put down on my stairs and it looks lovely so I'm having it in both bedrooms ,
I have always had cream but think its time for a change

Enfys I'm really sorry to see that your OH's had a little step backwards, although it wouldn't seem that little when it happened. I hope he gets sorted soon. Gem I hope you enjoy your time with the girls. Edinburgh's one of my favourite places. WG I really like your new kitchen. What a super big space too. Libra any luck with your house selling? Nan2 try to rest up & let someone help you for a change.

The scraping of the skin blemish on my forehead & removal of the thing on my eyelid will take place on my next appointment early June. It'll be fine.

Qwerty, you're right what you say about the illness patterns. Funny isn't it. I used to be really afraid of the dentist & I know it's because of childhood memories...bruddy awful eh? I can still smell that foul gas mask. I'm fine with the dentist now though. Maybe because the dentist is 'fit', as the young ones say.😉😎

Good morning,and guess what, it's raining a bit.

Daisy,you are right,it is my hubby that goes to car boot sales. Him and his brother have gone one this morning.
Over the years he has bought some decent things.
One of my favourites is a set of 6 brand new steak knives.They are in a stand. He only paid £2 for them.

Good morning all . Today I am going to spend the day sitting out side in the glorious sunshine....well I can dream can’t I ?

Enfys is it today OH is coming home ,

Oma when we lived in the house our stair carpet and bedroom carpets were all the same colour. Now we are in a flat we just have a beige carpet in the sitting room and bedroom, the hall , bathroom and kitchen have floor tiles (all match ) and the spare room has vinyl flooring. The tiles and vinyl floor was put down by previous occupant just weeks before they moved out and as it was in excellent condition we saved a fortune by not needing to change it.

Daisy you you have been busy, luckily I don’t need to defrost my freezer anymore, I used to hate that job so when we needed to buy a new freezer I chose a auto defrost one , it saves a lot of hassle I can tell you.

We had a fab day yesterday, and slept much better last night. DD is still sleeping.

Good Sunday morning everyone. Well I woke OH at 5.15 and made him toast and tea. Off he went to the car boot sale with a car full of stuff to sell. I went back to bed, too cold to sleep, so I read for a while and had just dozed off when Eva let out an almighty bark and hurled herself at the front door. It was OH! The field was too wet to drive onto and the boot sale had been cancelled! I don't know who was more fed up - OH or me!!!

Nanto - it's good when they come home with bargains, but OH tends to come home with things we don't need, and I don't want! He can't resist a 'bargain' but I only buy if it's something I really want.

Enfys - I do hope OH is home today.

Oma - the grey sounds nice. We've painted the living room, our bedroom and one wall in the kitchen in grey and I really like it. So many other colours seem to 'work' with it, and I was never a great fan of creamy colours.

Mimi - I would love to have all our carpets the same colour - the stairs and landing and three bedrooms. All the rest are parquet or tiles, except the main bathroom which needs new flooring.

The chest freezer is self-defrosting, but the unit which holds the defrost stuff is huge and takes up far too much space, and was expensive to get refills for, so I've taken it out and now have to defrost it - I do it about every 2 months.

The weather is dull and grey and chilly. If it brightens up I will do some gardening, if not, I'll get a few things planted in the greenhouse - I'm way behind with everything this year.


Gem - I hope you escaped last night, and are having a good week-end with the girls.

Well we have a cloudless blue sky but a bit chilly. Hope the sunshine lasts even if it does show up my less than perfect cleaning

Daisy after all your good wifely duties of getting OH up and out it came to nothing.

Hope Enfys OH can come home today.

All this talk of carpets makes me quite envious. I’d love new carpets all through .The hall ,stairs and landing carpet I have never liked but OH got it from a hotel that was closing down many years ago and obviously had been somewhere with no traffic so it was virtually new. Being hotel quality it never seems to wear out so I don’t feel justified in changing it.

I will have the Grey carpet on the stairs and the two bedrooms , Sitting room one is cream and my Hall ,Kitchen ,Utility, downstairs loo are all the same tiles , although we have put a black Vinyl over the tiles in the loo to go with the colour scheme in there , the wet room has aBlue /grey none slip waterproof flooring
I cant remember the last time I ever had anything but Cream carpets , must be more than 20 years so its a big change for me

Morning its a miserable morning here. Threat of rain so keeping an eye on my washing which is blowing on the line. Hate that we had to turn the heating back on, it was just too chilly. No plans just the usual, hubs turn to dog walk which always gives me an opportunity to catch up. My student is on a trip to the Isle of wight with the school today, poor girl it's going to be chilly there. Enyfs hope your OH gets home today. Have a safe journey home Gem.

Good morning all. Another dull day here but still dry.

Dh just phoned to say he could come home before lunch ...then whilst he was on the phone the doc came back to talk to him and they want to monitor his fluid levels a bit more so it may be this evening, He is feeling fine and is eating well but I am pleased that they are taking the trouble to make sure all is well. It is all very reassuring. But they have said that this could happen again at any time - it wasn’t a blockage but more like a twist or kink in something inside. He could go for ages without any problem or it could be a regular occurrence, but at least we’d know what to do - call 111 and get him to hospital. So nothing much I can do about it.

So this morning I will think of something nice for tea, sort out a few more cupboards and I am going to make plans for days out rather than holidays away. I could not relax away from home in case this happened again, it was so scary and horrible to see him in so much pain. Onwards and upwards.....again 🙂🌞
