Raining here today, really heavy showers and cold! Already had heating on and I notice one of our neighbours has got their's on too.

Hope all those celebrating yesterday had a good time. Sadly I was not celebrating but remembering my Mum who died 42 years ago. Taken far too young as they say.

Am summoning up the wherewithall to go shopping. Sainsbury's has an undercover car park, so I won't get wet going there, but I really need to go to some other shops where the car park is in the open air. Raincoat at the ready!

Gem.....enjoy your trip to Edinburgh. I'm very jealous! If you're looking for a nice place to rest your feet and happen to be heading towards the Castle, at the top of the Royal Mile there's what looks like a church,in the fork of the road, but is a very nice cafe. I think it's something to do with the Festival. We've been in there a couple of times and found a good selection of food.

Firstly, to all the medically challenged people, feel better soon.
We came home on Wednesday and although we didn’t have wonderful weather it wasn’t as cold as it is here now! We still had a good hols though. My garden looks a mess and it is raining like billy-o. I must attack the ironing basket now, will catch up later.

Qwerty - how was the dentists? Hopefully not as bad as you thought.

My day didn't go to plan - well, I didn't really have a plan, except to take the day as it came. OH is still decorating at DS2's, and forgot something he needed, so I took it over there and decided I'd cut back a couple of bushes while I was there. Unbelievably, I didn't notice it starting to rain - yes, a few odd drops, but nothing to worry about. I carried on for about half an hour, then realised my fringe was dripping rain into my eyes, and the rain had also gone right through my coat, my jumper and my t-shirt. I then had to go and collect something from DS's shop for OH (only a mile or so each way), but found DS there on his own. DIL was in bed with a migraine. So I stayed while he ate his lunch, took what OH needed back to their house and eventually got home just before 3 pm, still soaking wet, shivering with cold and very hungry! And very tired, even though I hadn't done much! Running round looking after everybody is hard work!

Qwerty - I know my plans always seem to go wrong, but It's because I let myself get railroaded into doing things - usually for the family. It's my own silly fault, and I must practise opening my mouth and letting the word "nooooo" escape!!

Hope the numbness soon wears off - and it will be worth it.

As it was a horrible day yesterday I managed to sort through a lot of old paper work, tidy up the airing cupboard and book the cat into the cattery for a few days in July as we will be away

Good morning from Drizzly Edinburgh!
It was sunny when we arrived yesterday, but not this morning!
We had a good journey up here, taking advantage of the complimentary catering in1st class, including G&TD all round 😊
The Airbnb flat is very nice. Clean, nicely decorated and equipped, but the king size bed DD2 are sharing has left us both aching. I didn't sleep too well, I think she slept better. Don't know about the other 2 yet.

We will have a nice day though, finishing with the escape room and dinner.
