Had an amazing tea in The Marylebone Hotel, very plain on the outside but breathtakingly beautiful inside. Harpist playing and very attentive waitresses. We all chose different teas and they kept coming with more. Teapots were filled with fresh tea, plates were changed after sandwiches eaten. Then came the cakes and fresh warm scones, choice of jam and cream. We thought we had one plate of cakes but another arrived. Needless to say we couldn't manage to eat them all so lovely cardboard boxes were provided. Traffic not good going in but fine coming home. We passed the Grenfell Tower block of burned out flats, just a metal frame left. GS2 was here when we got back, nice to see him, he was coming back with us but got a lift from a friend. Baby E and parents were here before we left and his mother was poorly and E was off his food, he has an ear infection apparently.

Fish and chips on the beach sounds good Oma. GS is missing a lovely day still in bed.

You and the family are having a lovely time celebrating DD's birthday.

Lovely to see that you're all enjoying the sunshine. I was saying to OH that I love the sunshine but I can't bear the heat. Had DD1 & boys for sleepover Saturday then DD2 & her children joined us all around 11am on Sunday. Lucky for me they all wanted a Macie D, so no cooking for me. OH & I chose to make our own sarnies. Will try to catch up on my diary tomoro.

Glad you're all ok. Will go to look on a couple of other threads. Enjoy your evening everyone.

Nana, the heat can get a bit uncomfortable at times.

Oma, what a shame about your fish and chips.

Qwerty, just you and Im together. Lovely.

Gem - You are having a terrific week-end, with lots of good company of people you love, and celebrations. It doesn't get much better than that, does it. x

Qwerty - Alcohol or making loom bands - I'd have chosen the loom bands as well if I had GD1 for company.

Plant - your afternoon tea sounds wonderful, and being able to bring the rest of the cakes home was great.

Oma - what a pity about your fish and chips. Yes, by 5 o'clock on the last day of a week-end you'd think people would be heading off home. But it was still very warm.

I'm sure you all think I've lost it (more than usual) wanting to work on such a lovely day, but I'm on a 'count down'. OH is still decorating at DS2's, but has nearly finished (thank goodness), so next week (a week this Wednesday) we want to go away in the caravan for a few days. The day we get back is the same day OH's brother and his wife arrive for a week. Given Mondays and Tuesdays are taken up with GD2, and we've got at least 2 days' work needed at the allotment to get things planted that can't wait any longer, I've only got about 3 days to do urgent gardening, get the caravan ready and leave the house respectable for our visitors. In addition there's normal dog training Tuesday night and a training walk on Saturday. Then tonight a friend phoned to say if we still want some of his lovely, beautifully rotted horse manure could we come and get it, as he's just sold his smallholding and needs to get things sorted out. We haven't been able to get it earlier because the allotment was too wet to take a car and trailer on. I think I shall need the break by the time we hitch up and get going!!

Anyway, today, I did a few loads of washing - goodness knows when/if it will get ironed! - weeded the path down to OH's workshop, Filled two enormous planters with soil etc ready for new plants to go in when we get back, took all the banana plants and cana lilies out of the greenhouse, put the pots of daffodils etc down the side of the house to die down, gave both bathrooms a good cleaning, cleaned the hob and the extractor hood, ran the sucky up thing round upstairs, and dusted our bedroom.

I'm just going to get things ready for tomorrow and then relax and watch Peter Kay's Unscripted Car Share (10 pm tonight).

Just put hubby's winter jacket in the washing machine.
It's very thick,3 layers. one layer is very thick fleece.
Got the weather to dry it anyway.

Off to make a start on jobs, before it gets too warm.

Good morning everyone. Looks like another nice day, but not quite so warm.

I'm just off to collect GD2 and Cooper. I slept like a log, and amazingly, no aches and pains - well, only the usual ones. I'm sure it will catch up with me!

                              Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all, first things first , have you all enjoyed the glorious weekend and are you all well .

I have been so busy these past few days, what with DS and then GD staying I haven’t had time to catch-up with all the going’s on.

Daisy you have been busy, you put me to shame.

Oma, it’s a shame about the fish and chips, usually chips at the seaside are lovely.

Now that we have the place to ourselves again I will try and catchup on all those jobs I didn’t get round to doing and as it’s not so hot today I could clear the garden boarders ready to plant the summer bedding out .

                                Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
