We are relaxing at home now. Bit concerned about a silent video posted by dil (wife of eldest) on Face Book. He looks extremely angry and is obviously shouting at her. She does wind him up, well they wind each other up. He will go bonkers if he finds out she has posted it.

We bought a meal meal deal from the supermarket as neither of us can be bothered to cook. Got home and there was absolutely nowhere to park. I know you don’t have a right to park outside your house but sometimes it annoys me. There is a couple who live next door but one and their visitors always park outside ours sometimes blocking residents in and often parking over the drive. Neighbour even asked me one day if I would move my car as he had people coming and they needed to park the cheeky so and so.

If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

        Good morning ladies.

Not snowing at the moment, bit it's been forecast.
Just seen on the news, that thousands of homes, ranging from Cornwall to Sheffield, are without power,
due to heavy snowfalls. We aren't too far from Sheffield.

        Stay safe and warm.

Nanto - let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. but I feel very sorry for those without power in thei weather. We are more likely to drown here. Our back garden is under water, so I don't know how two dogs and a very young puppy are going to cope this afternoon!

After two fantastic days with family, we're having GD2's birthday party here, so I've got to get a move on, but just wanted to say 'hello'. I can't believe she's 4 - it doesn't seem 5 minutes since the whole family was sitting in our living room waiting for news, and DS2 ringing to say she'd arrived and us all cheering. It was torrential rain then, too.

We had a very wet and windy drive back from DS1's yesterday.

I've cooked a large gammon for lunch, and am going to bake salmon, plus warm, crushed potatoes, potato salad, the usual bits and pieces - chutneys, pickles etc, sausage rolls, sandwiches, mincepies, Christmas cake, choc ice lollies for the children, sponge cake, and of course the all important birthday cake which GD chose herself - Minnions! plus GF cake for those who are GF. We've strung fairy lights round the dining room and it looks quite pretty - I'll try and get a photo, but by the time it's dark enough for the lights it will probably look more like a battle field! It will be interesting to see how Cooper the puppy copes - first time he's been to our house and first time he'd met Bailey, DS1's dog.

            Have a good day, ladies.

Oma - Not a good time for a funeral, but will be thinking of you. xx

Morning all sounds like you had a good Christmas Oma and it’s not over yet, sad about the funeral though we have been to a few about this time over the years sobers you up a bit.
Daisy your a glutton for punishment a birthday party ? At your house? Are you mad? I am sure though you will have a great time .
We are eating leftovers today and after that any left will be in the bin I always cook too much , next year if I cater I’m cooking a meal it’s such hard work with a buffet 🤨 a quiet day here it’s snowing a little but it rained earlier so don’t think it will lay, I have put a load of washing in, kitchen looks like a tornado hit it, I couldn’t face it after they all left. Quick vac round picking up crisps, cracker jokes and prizes along the way but it was a happy household yesterday lots of hugging and kissing .
Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and new year to come now
              Gorgeous graphic as usual Nanto

                Good morning everyone.

I hope we don't get snow Nan2, I don't think it is forecast here.
Daisy I hope the party goes well
Sad about the funeral Oma, I hope you have a nice time at your friends for tea.
It sounds as though everyone had a good boxing day

We had a lovely day yesterday. I will update my journal later.
Nice quiet relaxing day at home for us today, although I feel we should go out as I don't think I have walked many steps at all in the past few days!!
The day didn't start too well for us. A cat came in to the bedroom and promptly sicked his whole breakfast onto the duvet cover. Mad scramble to get the cover off before it went through to the (new) duvet! The cover is now in the wash.

We have SNOW. I needed to get out today, there is a prescription waiting for me at the hospital, I can only get them from there, has to be signed by a cardiologist and collected from the hospital pharmacy. Don't know what the forecast is, I am sure the main roads are fine, it is still snowing but it is fine and wet. If I can't make it tomorrow I will get one of the family to take me. I hate this white stuff.

Sounds as if you all had enjoyable family get-togethers over the festive two days. Fasting for me now. GD1 is back at work, GS2 is here after finishing his work at the hospital and GD2 is on her way to Yorkshire to join her boyfriend's family. GGS enjoyed his first Christmas, lots of cuddles and presents.

                    Morning all.

We’ve had a lovely few days with both DSs but they are both going home today.I don’t want to add a sad note but these days I don’t get a lot of chat from OH so it is lovely to chat with my boys.
However we have a quick turnaround as tomorrow we are off to DDs until the New Year.I don’t know how much longer we will be able to go in the car as although OH is still a safe driver he can’t remember routes so I’m a human Sat nav.

Daisy I hope the party goes well .I’m sure you’ll all have a lovely time.Three dogs will certainly add to the fun

Oma A sad day for you but something to look forward to after the funeral.

My ancient washing machine finally died so I’ve got to order a new one as soon as we’re back from DDs It’s like a minefield of choice out there but we subscribe to “Which” so I’ve sorted out the. one I’d like. It has 10% off in the sale. Not an awful lot but it will cover installation and removal of old one. It’s been my old faithful for many years and though I’m sure It’s not very eco friendly it’s served me well.

Have a lovely day everyone .It’s cold out th

By heck its cold out there this morning.

Good morning all, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas .

We had a wonderful time at DS's and DIL's . we were spoilt rotten .
Christmas eve evening was spent playing very silly games . GS and GD joined in for a while but they took themselves to bed , leaving the grown ups still playing .
Christmas morning we were surprised to discover that Santa seemed to know that we were not at home for Christmas and a stocking was left for me and OH. Mine was filled to the top of goodies ( even if it did contain festive rubber gloves ) .

Oma there is never a good time for a funeral but Christmas time makes it seem harder to bear. I will be thinking of you.

Hope those without electric soon have their power restored .

Yesterday DD told me she will be coming to see us on Saturday so DS and DIL are also coming over . Sadly eldest DS can't come because he will be working but he has New Years Eve and New Years Day off so he is coming to stay with us.....also he is bringing his washing with him ....
On Saturday we will get to do Christmas all over again as two youngest GS's have lots of presents waiting here for them .

Have a lovely day everyone...now where are those mince pies... I have so many here its enough to make Mr Kipling envious
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

The birds like mince pies Mimi, they were queuing up for mince pie and Christmas pudding. Very quiet here, I watched Goodnight Mr. Tom, lovely John Thaw. Snow stopped and if we don't get any more I will be able to get out to collect my prescription from the hospital.

We had a little a flurry of snow this morning, but not for long.
                          Sun is shining now.

It's been a more normal kind of day today. Which is how i like it.
Hubby went to parents to fix something morning,so i went with him and prepared their dinner.

Oma, hope the funeral went well, if you know what i mean.

Daisy,i'm sure the party will be lovely.

The snow here was so light we didn't even notice it!
We have had a very lazy day so far, and it will continue to be so

Well if Funerals can be good this one had to be the best ,
She had a Humanist funeral and more than 150 people turned up , in fact some had to stand in the corridor , lots of donations to our local Chemo unit where her partner and Brian had their Chemo's
The story's the Humanist told us about her had everyone laughing , Maureen chose happy songs at Judith's Request ,
Although a sad occasion the service was full of fun and upbeat
