Ah but we Scots were ecstatic Plant!! Could hardly bear to watch. SiL was up there on police duty( nice work if you can get it!!) and said it was the first time he'd been at Murrayfield and the first time in 19 years that Scotland had won the Calcutta Cup. Think he felt a bit of a jinx. I've suggested he goes to every England v Scotland match.

Beautiful sunshine here, but put your nose round the corner of the house and the biting wind hits you! Been to Church and apart from going out to garage to get veggies for dinner, that's me indoors for the rest of the day!

News from DS, says he's sore but not painful and he's resisting taking the painkillers. I can understand that because he had a drugs problem when he was younger and he's terrified of getting reliant on them again.

DD has just sold house and moving into rented accommodation because they haven't found anywhere else yet! Also looking at other jobs as her boss has moved and the new boss is, well I won't say how she described him! She doesn't suffer fools gladly does my DD. Wonder who she takes after...hmmmm!

LOL, Daisy, I am quite tired! He didn't sleep until after 11.30 Came in at 4.30 to ask what time it was then went to the loo. I settled him back and told him it wasn't morning. At 5.50 he came in again but I sent him back to bed with his i pad. I didn't manage to get back to sleep so finished my book, then just after 7 went downstairs with GS. He wanted to play Hide and Seek. I pointed out that no way was I playing Hide and Seek before breakfast!
We both had porridge. We planned to maybe go to the woods for walk or to the swings. The plan fell through because the trousers DD had sent him wouldn't do up at the waist, in fact I could hardly get them over his botttom!!
He and DD left late morning and OH and I went out for a carvery lunch. We bought a Victoria sponge on the way back, and had tea and cake when we got in.
A bit of a sad day, as my auntie (dad's sister) phoned to say her brother, the youngest in the family, had died. Of the family of 8 children only my auntie is left now.

Enfys, I had to discuss with the oncologist whether or not chemo was needed. They had done a numbers things when they asses the percentage of gain by having it. My gain would have been small compared to the side effects, so I wasn't recommended it. It will probably be something of this sort for your OH.

I hope your DS recovers well WG.

Lots of love to everyone, I'm too tired to read back and respond to all posts!

Yes it was a good day for the Scots. WeeGranny, they certainly played an exciting game. Will your DD and family still stay in the area?

Enfys - It will take DH time to get his strength back, but he will get there. I think you're very wise trying to avoid all the bugs going round. As Gem says, I'm sure he will be given options when he sees the specialist tomorrow. I'm keeping everything crossed that whatever treatment will be minimal - he's doing so well. Wrap up nice and warm - it's bitterly cold already.

Clover - I think men who hoard ( like my OH!) are worse than women who hoard, because it tends to be us who have to dust all the junk. At least if it's our junk, we've only got ourselves to blame. I bet it was a 'bracing' walk!!!

Wee Granny - Scotland played well! Well done to you dS for getting by on paracetamol. Has he got a Plan B - like relaxation techniques - in case he needs it. Hopefully he won't, and I do admire his determination.

Gem - That was a busy sleepover for you! It's strange how children's sleeping habits vary so much. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle - did he live in your area?

Qwerty - I'm sure you enjoyed seeing DD and GD, even if they did eat tomorrows dinner! You'll have to go out for a meal to make up for it, although with your busy week, I don't know how you will find the time. I hope the funeral goes as well as these things can. xx

Oma - sons sometimes are the limit!!! I hope he turns up on Tuesday. xx

Will someone please polish my halo? I've been pushing that sucky up thing round for ages - all over the house, and done lots of waving about with the yellow fluffy thing, then I portioned up food for Eva for the next week or so. OH had an exciting trip to Screwfix and came back thrilled to bits that he'd remembered something he needed - and it was on offer (no idea what it was!) and he'd also stocked up on light bulbs and went round the house changing the ones that didn't match - like some in the kitchen which were a mixture of daylight and 'yellow' light.

Qwerty I hope that your friend has a 'good send off' as they say & that you won't be too sad.x
So much going on in all our lives. OH has been asked back for the second part of the interview tomoro so things look promising. We enjoyed the rugger game, as we go to see Scotland when we can....hard to get tickets. OH almost deafend me cheering them on. I would have shouted more but this bruddy cough starts up...like a knife. Mimi your back must be improving if you can dance like that🤣

Oh Daisy I'm going to be singing that song forever now
The Daisy household has been busy today hasn't it , was the light bulbs on offer at Scewfix ?
I must admit I'm a bit of a lover of the Scewfix catalogue I can flick through it for ages

Nana frightens the life out of you doesn't it when they cheer ,
My BIL does that , he is almost out of his seat when the football is on , my sister will say to him he will end up with no voice :

                              Good morning everyone.

I hope you find all is well at your in laws Nan2. Do you go over every day?
Daisy, my uncle lived near Nottingham and I hadn't seen him for several years. Their oldest sisters funeral would be the last time, 5 or 6 years ago. My auntie kept in touch with him by phone, so I got updates from her.
You were busy bees in your house yesterday!
Oma, my OH is a fan of the Screwfix catalogue too. I'm sorry DS and the GC didn't appear yesterday
Qwerty, my 2 GC (GD and toddler GS2) are easier to have on a sleepover than GS1, as they sleep! So let's hope all 3 of yours do

Tomorrow is my sisters birthday. As that is my day to have GS1, mum and I will go over today to see her and take her presents and cards. Snow is forecast and I hate driving in the snow, so it can keep away!
It feels so nice to be able to breath through both nostrils again, I have to say!!

I hope everyone's day goes well, including those who have appointments, interviews, or funerals.

Good morning everyone! The start of another week - time seems to fly by! The sun is lovely this morning - from indoors, so the only thing to do it magic ourselves away to a warm, sunny beach!

Oma - Enjoy the song. It wasn't the lightbulbs on offer - it was some little gadget a bit like a bunch of alan keys, I think. I'll have to ask! When the Screwfix catalogue plops on the doormat, it puts a smile on OH's face for the rest of the day! I think his best Screwfix bargain was a boot bag free with something or other a while ago. It's really sturdy and great for his walking boots.

Nana - best of luck to your OH for his second interview. I find the noise of football matches painful - rugby is noisy but somehow not so bad, and if I had to watch one or the other I'd choose rugby!

Enfys - thinking of you both and hoping OH's appointment at the hospital goes well today. xx

Gem - I hope you caught up on your sleep last night. Edit: You posted while I was typing, Gem - I hope your sister likes her presents - take care in case it's icy on the roads.

My usual Monday routine today. Pick GD2 up from playgroup, pick Cooper up from DS's shop and take them back to their house for the afternoon. I will also have to pop into the garden centre to get some bird seed - I don't want to run out with the cold weather forecast for this week.

                                Have a good day everyone.
