Easter goods????? What about St Valentine's Day, Mothering Sunday and the parrot's birthday - have they forgotten about those? (I don't know when the parrot's birthday is but there must be one somewhere. (I've only had 2 glasses of wine, honestly!)


I've had quite a lazy day today! What few jobs I've done seem to have taken a long time, but we managed to get out with Eva while the sun was shining. I didn't get round to defrosting the freezers ready for the dog food delivery tomorrow, so I'll have to do that in the morning. Not my favourite job in the winter. I definitely need an early night tonight. The less I do the more I sleep, it seems! Sorry to those who don't sleep well, and I do appreciate my good fortune - Rip Van Winkle must have been a relative of mine.

Clover - it is hard getting back into an active routine after a break. No wonder you were tired.

Zizi - there's not much sign of you taking things a bit easier if today's anything to go by.

Gem, sorry I forgot to say earlier, my arm's ok - just a couple of gashes!! I need to keep an eye on those puppy teeth next time I look after Cooper. It's good to be looking forward to Spring. xx

We were in Morrisons yesterday and they have Easter eggs and cards in too , far too early .

My neighbour was taken back into hospital again last night , she only came home Christmas week , her episodes are getting more frequent poor girl
When they section her they can only keep her 28 days and if she shows sign of improvement they send her home before the 28 days are up , in my opinion that's wrong but that's how it works ,

Going to paint the wall behind our headboard today after it comes off in prep for moving beds around , not much else to do apart from ironing the washing I have done ,

There was a discussion on the local radio on Thursday about Easter Eggs and all things in general that are promoted months early to make us part with our money. The favourite topic was hot X bins and how they are available all year round now. Don’t buy ‘em till you need ‘em was the opinion of most of the listeners who phoned in .

Its sad about your neighbour Oma. The poor woman seems to be destined to spend her life drugged up on meds in an effort to keep her episodes under control.

Good morning all.

i slept so well again, didn’t wake up until 8! Nothing planned for today, so I’m having a real sort out upstairs, I’m going to tackle,the,spare wardrobe and have a good clear out. We are going to DDs tonight for a take away before she and DGD fly off to Oz, which will be nice. Although I’m dreading saying goodbye to GD, she is going to be away for ages but I won’t show it, she is so excited.

On the list of chores today is putting Christmas in the loft (too tired yesterday), cleaning out behind washing machine in readiness for new one, trying a new recipe for Macaroni cheese using a tub of cottage cheese I found lurking at the back of the fridge and doing a Tesco order. I must also get O H out for our usual walk and clear up generally.

We are taking down the Christmas tree today, which doesn't take long as everything else is down. Apart from that and putting everything back in the loft, nothing much planned.

Our tree is coming down too & decs. I'll be sorry to see the tree go as it always makes me feel warm inside at night with just the tree lights on.🎄😔

I went to the dentist & they'd made the mistake of booking me in for next Saturday. My appointment's now been moved to Tuesday.

Everyone is busy today
I have cleaned under the stairs cupboard out ( still no sign of Christmas bowls) All the kitchen cupboards , under the sink I have a box I keep bits and pieces in , when I say that I mean junk I have no where else to keep , everything went in the bin ,

My cleaning cupboard had half bottles of this and that ,what I could pour into other bottles I did the rest went in bin too ,
I had 3 bottles of window cleaner with small amounts in each and I poured them all into one bottle,

We have decided to not hoard stuff , ...till next time

My doors are finished and look really nice. I have been to the shops, read the paper, taken the bed linen off, loaded the dishwasher but cannot find the washer tablets, goodness knows where they have gone! I am just going to do a little bit of ironing and the rest will go to the fairy tomorrow. I am going to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake before using the flat hissy thing as I need the strength. West Side Story is on channel 5 and is one of my favourites so that will help me as well.

I feel really tired today and one of my eyes is sore and weepy like hay fever so I have taken an anti histamine hopefully it will work.

Cards down now, will re-read them today. Usually when I take all the decs down one evades my attention, I am sure it hides and then re-appears to annoy me but not this year, everywhere checked. SIL still has the outside lights to take down and I think they still have the tree in the SR. He was too poorly to see to those things and had to get back to work once he was feeling up to it.

Anyone would think it was Spring with all the turning out going on. Just to let you up, my OH's funeral was on the 22nd February and it was a lovely weather and people were sitting outside at the wake. Got interrupted, GD1 came in carrying baby E, he was still in his sleep suit. His mother had gone with a bride-to-be to look at wedding dresses, GS knows the family are always pleased to see them, he only lives down the hill. I have only just managed to get dressed.

Oma - you're a workaholic! But it must be quite satisfying when it's all neat and tidy. I'm trying not to hoard stuff too! OH is the main culprit, but sometimes I think he's seeing the light! LOL Your poor neighbour. I suppose they send her back home before the 28 days are up because I think they have to apply to the Court of Protection if it's longer. Not sure, but that could be why.

Nana - I like the twinkling lights from the tree too! Poor you having to wait until Tuesday for the dentist. xx

I'm trying to get freezers cleaned and tidied, and the frozen dog food arrived about 4 hours earlier than it usually does, so now it's a race to get it sorted - half into the freezer and the rest to DS2.

Clover - you are a busy lady. The macaroni cheese recipe sounds interesting. Is it low calorie? OH and I have both put weight on over Christmas and New Year so I'm in 'diet mode'. This means I think about low cal options, even if I don't always make them!!

Mimi - you did tempt fate and the sleep imps! I hope tonight's better.

Nanto - thank goodness you got a good night. You sounded very fed up yesterday. xx

Gem - I think we should all boycott early Easter goods - they'd stop putting them on the shelves if we didn't buy them. Although I must admit to being tempted by hot cross buns sometimes - but then they don't seem special in the run up to Easter!

The tree is in the garden, decs are boxed up ready to go int the loft. I have just eaten the German gingerbread decoration which Oma gave me, and has been hanging on the tree
We have to move everything on Wednesday for the new carpet, so are not getting totally back to rights again until then.

Zizi and Plant - sorry I missed your earlier posts. Zizi - I'm exhausted reading yours!! But I do hope your eye is ok. Did the anti-histamine work?

Plant - I usually find the last decoration about March! Well done on getting them all this year. Your poor SIL has had a bad time.

I managed to get one freezer defrosted and cleaned. It took me ages to sort out the dog food - it sounds simple, but some items had been substituted, but unlike the supermarket delivery notes, this one doesn't show them as substiutions and the crates had fallen over in the delivery van so the poor driver and I spent half an hour checking off the order, trying to work out what was what. OH had gone out in my car (battery flat in his) so he wasn't there to help my lift the crates into the garage, so they sat in the hall all afternoon until DIL2 arrived to collect theirs. She brought Cooper with her - that puppy grows every time I see him, but he was too busy playing with Eva to take any more chunks out of my arms. LOL

Gem - what colour is your new carpet? I'm sure you've said but I can't remember.
