Hello. I haven’t been around much. We had a lovely time last night and got a text from one of the dils today saying how lovely it was and that the food was fantastic.

Wasnt supposed to be working today but got so many calls and emails that I decided to give in and work for the morning considering I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow. Whoops spoke too soon, as I was typing my phone went and the appointment has been cancelled!

The chippie is coming to put the new doors on the bathroom and two bedrooms and build the cupboard in the hall on Friday. We are waiting to hear when the wardrobes are going to be installed so we can get the floor fitter in the day after and then the decorator. The blind has been ordered for the bedroom as well. I will be glad when it is all over.

it has been windy and rainy here today but it isn’t terribly cold. I have a coloured wash which I will have to dry indoors and I spent ages this morning doing washing up as husband loaded the dishwasher last night thinking he was being helpful BUT when I went to unload it early this morning the stuff was filthy, worse actually than when it went in. The Dopey so and so had completely overloaded it (shows he doesn’t load it often doesn’t it?) so I spent ages washing the stuff up. The yuk had dried on.

Beef casserole, mash and peas for dinner - left overs from last night.

I bought two pairs of boots on line which arrived today. They are really comfortable. One black pair one brown pair, only £50 each in the sale. I also bought a pretty blush shirt but it is way too big and some new nighties, nothing special just tee shirt type ones to replace old ones that have faded. I know how to live!

I have heard that lots of appointments have been canceled Zizi. I hate it when things come out of the dishwasher dirtier than they went in, and baked on!!

We got all the calendars delivered, and got some exercise and blew away the cobwebs at the same time!

Thing is Gem that they have made appointments several times giving me one days notice and had a go at me for saying I couldn’t do it but it is OK for them to do the same. Husband has this situation regularly with his eye appointments. Also they told me that my condition is serious (which I have never believed to be honest). I am going to ring my private consultant tomorrow and have a word with him.

I was given a lovely navy and silver silver wool wrap by my son and dil yesterday and I have it over my shoulders now, it is so cosy and warm I might take it to bed with me for when husband nicks the duvet off me!

Spoke to my line manager this afternoon about the company situation. She says she has heard that our department might be transferred as a shared resource to “services”. Would be quite different working for services instead of building. Might mean I have to go back to dressing for the office. Services and Building are not good bed fellows in real life, I will stamp my feet if I am expected to dress up as I am used to chinos and long skirts and boots (not chinos and skirts together you understand) and I fairly recently got rid of my office type clothes. Services think the building department are all uncouth ruffians and building department think that services are all snobby up themselves (services is facilities management, legal, utilities management etc. Building is....well..... builders). I have been with building for over seventeen years so I guess than makes me an uncouth ruffian eh?

Clover - It's hard to say goodbye, especially when you won't see them again for a while. I'm sure f loved his note from you. Well done to G for driving back through that awful weather. The spray can make visibility really hard. I've now caught up with washing after our machine breaking (just a new pump needed) but suddenly you find the only jumper in your whole wardrobe that will do is in the wash!! I resisted the temptation to pull things out of the laundry basket though.

Plant - I'm glad you hadn't lost your wreath!!

Gem - did you get your minutes finished?

Oma - the loo roll holder made me laugh out loud! Brilliant.

Zizi - what a nuisance having your appointment cancelled at the last minute like that. I had to smile at the idea of your being an uncouth builder!!! But if Services require you to wear 'office clothes' (whatever they may think those are) I would be upset too. It's a bit old hat. I hope you're not expected to wear one of those as well! Glad you enjoyed your family 'do', and the wrap sounds gorgeous. Fingers crossed all that work at home goes smoothly.

I've had quite a productive day today. Lots of odd jobs done - really exciting things like cleaning the hob and extraction canopy in the kitchen, re-arranging furniture in the hall and living room and washing the wooden floors in both places. I'm sure the BBs will say you shouldn't do this, but it doesn't seem to do any harm and I certainly don't do it very often, but they were covered in muddy paw marks. I washed cushion covers and throws from the living room - also covered in muddy paw marks, plus chocolate ice cream and other unidentifiable deposits. Got them all dried, ironed and back in place. Took Eva for a good run in the paddock this morning - while the sun was shining. Good timing as it rained shortly after we got back. I washed and refilled all the bird feeders, paid an invoice, checked through all the Christmas cards in case I'd forgotten anybody in the pre-Christmas rush. Replied to a couple of pre-Christmas chatty emails from friends, and am now ready for bed!!

Tomorrow, GD1 goes back to school and her mum and dad want to go into work to tidy up after the Christmas rush, so I'm going over to look after GD2 and puppy for a few hours. Looking forward to that as it seems I haven't seen GDs for ages!

The wind has finally died down, but it's damp.

                Off to in laws later.
Wishing you all a good day.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling a lot better.

Its nice to see that Eleanor has finally left and thankfully there wasn’t too much damage around here.

Zizi that’s a shame about your appointment, lots of hospital appointments are being cancelled and I know they are classed as non urgent but in some cases non urgent become urgent if left too long . That’s the NHS though isn’t it, it can barely cope on a good day but winter time sees it become to almost breaking point.

Daisy you did have a productive day didn’t you, I should take a leaf out of your book .

Yesterday started out fairly good . I sorted out my wardrobe. Ordered some non growing wild bird seed for the bird feeder DD brought me for Christmas and then it went downhill. When I was cooking lunch I decided to give the fridge a clean and tidy it up . I can across a half opened bottle of mulled cider ( Christmas present, not my usual tipple) and as OH was out side tidying up the shed I warmed it up and we both had a glass . Also in the fridge was a half opened bottle of wine which I drank whilst having my lunch.
Now I had planned to clean the oven in the afternoon but I decided to sit on the sofa for a while before tackling that horrible job when , well I sort of fell asleep 💤

Don’t know when the oven will get a clean now as the mood has now passed, after all I am not a member of the B.B. club!

Love it Mimi, glass of cider and half bottle of wine at lunch time would knock anyone out.

Aqua for me this morning so will check in later, must get a move on. My car is full of recycling, going to call at tip after aqua, hope it is open and not too busy.

                      Well done, Mimi 🍷

Blustery night again here, raining now and still windy. Just had a call from the hospital to say DH’s. Biopsy is provisionally booked for next Thursday, details to follow. Thank goodness, we will keep everything crossed. We are off to the hospital this morning for his pre op assessment and meeting with the Stoma nurse. I think it might be a stressful morning, so we are going out for lunch after.

This time next week DD and DGDwill be with DS in Australia! Someone asked how old DGD is...she will be 23 next month, I can’t believe it. She only looks about 16. But is very mature and confidant, such a difference from the sad teenager she was at 16 - 19, suffering from depression so badly that she was self harming. When she came bouncing in to see us the other day, full of life and looking wonderful in her funny, hippy clothes, I was so happy to see how she has overcome her demons. There is light at the end of the tunnel, thank goodness.

I hope you have all survived the storm and have a good day. X

                        Good morning everyone,
A very wet one where I am.
GS1 is here for the day. Mummy is back at work and daddy is working from home for a few hours.

LOL Mimi, the cider and wine conspired against you!
Fingers crossed everything goes to plan now Enfys. I hope the assessment goes OK this morning. How happy you must be to see the way things have changed for your GD.
Do you feel invigorated after the aqua, Plant?
I hope all poorly people, including GC are feeling better today.

                        Happy Thursday

Oma, yes I have been looking forward to having GS. I haven;t seen him since Boxing Day, as they couldn't come to us on New Years Day.
                            Enjoy your quiet day in

My ibs is playing up again I had some guacamole at lunch time yesterday and it contains chilli, which I forget about. I'm at home today though and have the antispasmodics and probiotic drink,s, both of which help, so it will pass.

                              Good morning ladies.

I’m looking after GD2 and puppy today. We’ve just taken Cooper out for a short walk, met 2 other dogs and two people stopped to talk to us. Catch up later, phones ringing. 🙂

                                Morning everyone.

Enfys I do hope the hospital visit goes smoothly and afterwards you won’t be so apprehensive.x

Gem I hope your ibs soon settles down Take it as easy as you can.

I‘ve taken Christmas tree down so must soon venture into loft to get it tucked away.

I’m also going to go through cards and note down senders and then write all birthdays on my kitchen calendar month by month so hopefully won’t miss any this year.

I don’t know why but I’ve always disliked New Year as I worry about what it will bring. I’ve always felt like this even before OH’s illness. I know it’s just a continuation of usual days but I’m always relieved when we’re well into January.

Hope anyone poorly or worried about loved ones feel better really soon.
