Afternoon everyone. Clover I understand how you feel. I think the start of a New Year makes us look at the year just passed & the uncertainty of the year to come. Sending love for a good 2018.

Clover I hate January and even more so this year with my first annual follow up appointment and mammogram looming. However, not point being downhearted, all we can do is try to look on the bright side, wish January away, and look forward!
I hope you and GD and Cooper have a fun day Daisy.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Hope all the hospital appointments due, go well and no more cancellations.
Aqua instructor today was a very nice young man (our usual instructor is in Australia), he is a pilates teacher and has a business carrying out massage, hot stone massage etc. He gives us a very different workout it is more like Pilates and Yoga in the water, lovely relaxation at the end. I took all my cardboard and paper plus other rubbish to the tip afterwards, it was very busy,my garage looks very tidy now. Taking a basket of kitchen items, pyrex casserole dishes etc to the charity shop tomorrow. Sil back at work but I haven't seen him for a couple of days, so not sure how he is feeling, DD just says he is fine.
Hope your ibs has improved Gemini, too many peppers (which I love) will give me a very sore tummy.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

The day went very well. DH has a new date for his biopsy, next Thursday, bowel op still going ahead on 19th and we had a long chat with the colorectal nurse and the Stoma nurse. All very interesting and informative which has put our minds at rest a lot. Everyone is so helpful so it doesn’t seem so scary now. There is also a very good support group, that we can get involved with after the op and a scheme where you can have a visit from another stoma patient to have a chat and they have hints and tips to help. All very useful and DH is keen to take whatever help he can get.
We had a very nice late lunch in the hospital restaurant, delicious and so cheap then stopped off at the shops and I treated myself to some new watercolour pencils in the sale in Smiths. Both feeling tired now but reassured so a nice relaxing evening ahead with no coking for me, hooray 😀

We have the new door man coming tomorrow at 9.30 which is quite exciting (not hard to please me). The wardrobes will be delivered in 22nd and installed ion 23rd. They said allow two days so three nights in the sitting room as flooring man is coming on 24th, depending on what time he finishes and how well husband puts the bed back together could be four nights. So we are taking the opportunity to do a big clear out and took tons of stuff to the charity shop. He asked me to go through a big hamper with him but I knew that I would keep most of the stuff so I told him not to tell me what he was putting in the charity bag because I knew I would try to retrieve stuff and as we havent used the stuff for ages it would be silly. Spare room is the “holding area”. Charity shop is delighted with all the bags of curtains and bedding and cushions etc.
I just had to go and have a breadstick and some guacamole after the remark above! Shouldn’t really as I don’t have a big appetite and we are having minted lamb chops today.
Enfys glad you ar both feeling a little better about what is to come.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Enfys, fear of the unknown is generally our biggest fear. so I'm glad they were so informative at the hospital and put your minds at rest.
Oooh minted lamb chops! Now you have me fancying those Zizi!
I'm glad your fingers are at last healed Oma.
The aqua session sounded good Plant.
Lovely day with GS1. Once they are at school you don't get the same amount of time with them do you, so it's nice when it happens.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Enfys I’m pleased you feel less apprehensive now.The experts are so matter of fact that they give you confidence.
Gem and Oma I know how you feel about impending check-ups. I have one next week for my Lymphoma and normally I don’t think about it but it is beginning to nibble at the back of my mind.
We had a brisk walk to the Post Office but so windy we had a quick look at the sea then straight back home. I think we passed one other person on our walk. Usually we meet a few dog walkers at least! The wind felt really cold.
Have a pleasant evening.

Clover, it is surprising how many of us have these regular check ups which worry us but we keep quiet about generally! My OH's will be in February so I am hoping we can relax again for a bit after that and look forward to springI hope we all have reassuring results from our upcoming appointments.

Qwerty - we all totally understand, and you know we're here for you, always.
Enfys - I'm so relieved for you both that the hospital appointment today went so well and was helpful. It's great that your OH is ready for any and all help available, and there's nothing like someone who's been through the same experience to give you support. Have you decided yet on your new art project? Those watercolour pencils could come in handy.
Gem - you've got such a good, positive attitude. I know you're a bit apprehensive, but it will put your mind at rest.
Zizi - please may I borrow your OH for a few days? He could persuade my OH who is a dreadful hoarder to have a good clear out as well! When he sees a bulging charity bag he looks at it suspiciously and asks if there's anything of his in there!!
Clover - I suppose your feelings about New Year is a very sensible fear of the unknown. But I can understand you wonder what the year will bring. I bet that walk today was bracing.
Nana - I hope the year brings good things for you, too. xx
Plant - that sounds a lovely Aqua class and you did well to get everything taken down to the tip as well.
Oma - thank goodness your fingers are better - now just look after them. No more ironing/steaming them - they are definitely non-iron!
As usual my day didn't quite go to plan. DS2 and DIL were going in to work for a couple of hours to get ready for re-opening on Monday. There was a lot of clearing up to do, and certain things needed re-arranging to puppy-proof them - he's grown so much this last 10 days! So they ended up spending all day there until GD1 came out of school. Cooper was in rebellious mood, full of energy and not listening at all. So GD2 and I took him out for a walk. He can't go far yet (they have to let bones, joints etc form properly before they can do a lot of running round) and it's the first time I've walked him with GD2 "helping". He was very good for most of the walk and socialised with a couple of other dogs and several people, who thought he was cute. I didn't mention the large plaster on my arm where one of his teeth tore into me earlier!!! I'm sure Oma will remember this stage with Storm - all sharp little teeth and no sense or manners! Usually when I'm over there I do odd jobs - washing, tidying the kitchen etc, but today I didn't have chance. When Cooper was asleep I played with GD2, who was very good. I got home shattered and Eva sniffed at my jeans and walked away in disgust!

Oma I must have missed your argument with the iron. Reminds me of Dobby (Dobbie?) from Harry Potter. I can't imagine how sore it must be. Thanks for your good wishes Daisy. OH took me out for lunch today & half way through my steak I heard/felt a big popping noise from where my jaw joins. My teeth are a little out of line so a visit to my dentist may be on the cards for me tomoro'. Not having much luck so far. Ouch.😲
Enfys I'm pleased that you're both feeling better informed & more relaxed. I hope that all the hospital visits go well for everyone."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

The minted lamb chops were absolutely lovely! Anyone can borrow my husband if they need him especially if you can keep him overnight as he is VERY LOUD when he is sleeping. Seems to be getting worse recently. I drop to sleep and just get comfortable and shhhhrrrrrr arghhhh brrrughhhh so I “accidentally” poke him and he makes a harrumph noise. I think that I have done it and shut the Beggar up and settle myself nicely again and then off he goes again but even louder (that might be my imagination or annoyance - the extra noise bit). I love him dearly but wish he could sleep a bit quieter. BUT then in the midst of all of that he nicks the duvet and most of the mattress and I am teetering on the edge of the bed. Fortunately ours is a warm flat but still you want somethu g warm around you don’t you?
nana my my jaw is out of line as well. I dont get a popping noise but I get a click in my back jaw which sounds loud to me but I dont think anyone else can hear it. I have some dental implants and am going to see my dental specialist sometime soon, I feel a large expense looming and several large handfuls of Valium or something as I am not a good dental patientIf you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
