It is very cold here as well and it was frosty first thing. I do not want snow so please keep it with you all. I have spent all morning going through emails some of them complete rubbish and some infuriating.
Had a lovely big bubbly bath this morning and decided to spend the day indoors. Tomorrow is butcher, Baker and green grocer day. I am supposed to be off but I have too much to do so will spend the rest of the day tomorrow getting things sorted. Saturday the electrician is coming to finish the electrics in the sitting room and next week the other new chairs will be here.

Plant I’m sorry your Aqua was a bit chilly.I always get cold when I go in a pool.Hope your tea warmed you up
I had a fairly successful expedition today.A few more small gifts bought.I was really pleased to find a present for the birthday of the disabled sister I clean for.She never goes out, doesn’t read books and often just sits and does nothing. In previous years I’ve done the toiletries, nice coat hangers, mug with a cat picture etc, etc. She used to write poetry and loves cats so this year I saw a book online of cat poems and pictures. However it was more than I budgeted for but blow me down in a shop called “Home Sense “ which is a sort of branch of TK Maxx I found the very book at a greatly reduced price.Hence one happy Clover
Sorry to all the ladies with snow who don’t want it.I’ll have a sprinkling if you’d like to send one.I bet you think I’m daft, and probably am
Bitterly cold here. Popped out quickly this morning and it felt icy.
Daisy, you’re not affected by the gas/water problems in your area I hope. Saw it on the news this morning.
No, Enfys. I didn’t even know about it but the have been digging up random bits of road in the middle of the village. But it all looked clear when we took Eva out earlier on.
Clover how lovely to find that book reduced. It was meant to be.
Zizi, I hope you’re feeling ok today, but still good to keep warm indoors.
Plant you deserve a nice afternoon after braving the cold of the swimming pool.
Has it stopped snowing in the frozen north?

Daisy I have been hugging the radiator all day and have two jumpers, leggings, socks and slippers on. Absolutely have to go out tomorrow but it will be quick I can tell you. Thank you I do feel better but am sneezing a lot which is annoying as it is those serial sneezes which you never know when they are going to stop.
I have consulted with parents re Christmas and the boys want Amazon vouchers (Ben) and money for Joe. Sadie wants a River Island coat. I have ordered a voucher in a little tin today and the coat and a smart box to put Joe’s money in. I have lots of other bits for them, nothing expensive just books etc. I will probably pick more bits up between now and when they come here on 2nd January.
Husband and and I have agreed to only buy a small gift for each other to open Christmas Day due to the large amount of money the hotel is costing. There isn’t anything I need these days, if I want something I usually buy it myself and same with husband. I have enough make up, beauty potions, perfume, nail polish etc. to open my own branch of Boots!
I have bought the bigger boys Boss aftershave and really nice tops which I got in the card holder sale at Debenhams at a great price and the girls have jewellery and other bits then both couples will get a basket with six bottles of wine and a couple of stemless wine glasses (I am told these stemless wine glasses are very trendy with the younger people my dears!). So basically I am finished and most of the stuff is already wrapped and stored. I need to send the Christmas cards, they have been written for a while but I have to change one as the husband died suddenly two weeks ago.
The next thing I need to concentrate on is what to take with me for Christmas, at least 26 changes of mind coming up methinks.......

I hope you have warmed up Plant.
We have HomeSense here Clover, it's good isn't it? I'm sure the lady will love the present.
It was very cold, Brrrrr!!
My lovely OH took pity on me (as her golf was cancelled) and drove me and mum to the Drs, dropped us back at mums and came back for me a couple of hours later.
All good at mum's review OH is off to a dinner at the golf club. I'm not sorry that I am staying in cosy and warm!

It's snowing, albeit lightly.Hubby said he thought it had warmed up a bit.It was too cold to snow earlier.
Gem, pleased your Mum's review went well.
Daisy, in laws are coping well the cold weather.they have the heating on.
We tell dad not to go out when it's so cold. he lets us know when they need anything.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Enfys - I've now found out what has been going on with the water and gas in part of the village! It's the main road through the village (we live over the other side), and I've put together some odd things that I hadn't given much thought to.
When I was bringing GD2 over here late on Tuesday morning I saw about 6 double decker buses going away from the village, over the Forest to places like West Moors and Fordingbridge, obviously coming from the college where I used to work, and full of students. "Odd" I thought, "they must be having a half day for some reason"! Then when I went to dog training on Tuesday evening there was one way traffic, controlled by temporary lights with a long line of emergency/work vehicles with loads of flashing yellow lights - so bright I was almost dazzled by them - just like major road works on the motorways at night! I never gave either thing a second thought, not even when you kindly asked if we were ok.
Zizi - it's awful when you just can't get and stay warm. Wrap up well tomorrow. At least you've got Christmas sorted out.
Gem - I guessed OH might offer to drive you today! It would have been difficult playing golf in the snow. Automatics are horrible in bad road conditions. So glad you Mum's medical review was good. Has OH enjoyed her night out?
Nanto - it's sensible for your dad to stay in when it's so cold. You are good to them. x

I drew all my curtains and turned the heat up before I went to a friend's house for tea,
. I knew it would be cold and dark when I came home, it was nice and toasty.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Daisy why are automatics so awful in bad weather? I only ask because my BMW company car is automatic and I have never had an auto before. Tomorrow will be its first outing since before the holiday, it is still sitting on the drive........
