It’s very upsetting WG and we hear and see more at this time of year, hope the person was ok. It’s not a good day for accidents at all

Evening back from kiddies show it was ok apart from one of the boilers had broken down, so it was a bit chilly, my two g/c won’t join in with the actions or dancing very shy I
put that down to them being twins they are always together and don’t mix apart from nursery, I think they were overwhelmed and as usual J said it was too loud, but I enjoyed it did all theactions wheels on the bus etc, sang my heart out but didn’t get up to dance lol, awaiting arrival of eldest that doesn’t seem so well as I had a text from DD “Have you got Calpol at your house “ 😱 watch this space .
Oma she had to have an injection as the liquid numbing he couldn’t get under her tooth, I know injections are flipping painful so wasn’t surprised she screamed the place down, he managed to pull it out but lots of blood which sent her into another meltdown, anyway it’s over now thank goodness, it was only half a tooth there from the fall she had 5/6 yrs ago thanks for asking.
Nan2 I know what you mean about OH I would love a day or so to potter around the house on my own and he went out, but he only goes out with me, he on the other hand takes great delight in telling me what he’s got done whilst I am out. Oh the chance 🙁 enjoy lunch anyway and breathe.........
New bedroom Oma a change is as good as a rest You will have more room now to jump off the top of the wardrobe 🤭
Plant a festive time for the family good luck with the blinis , tomorrow we are baking xmas cookies but I havnt been able to find any silver balls in demand I’m told , well they would be wouldn’t they 🤣
Gem I love a roast potato save me some, I shall be joining you in the season of childminding xmas style tomorrow as I am sure Daisy will too and maybe others on here , xmas decs making Tuesday with all 3 , and by Wednesday lots of TV movies 🎅🏻😉🤫

            Good evening

Poor little GD, Qwerty, that tooth has been nothing but trouble since she fell Good luck with all the childcare over the next few days!
Mine will all be over by Tuesday, as it is Monday and Tuesday this week. I will be having GS1 for a day between Christmas and New Year though.
I would like some time with GD over the holidays too, but we shall see!

What an expensive doggy he is Oma

Your mince pies must be very good Plant

WG, hopefully the casualty wasn't too badly hurt. It does shake you up to see things like that.

Nan2, that sounds a good lunch!

We had a nice lunch with lovely auntie , then a nice visit with my mum.
I have just added even more to the mammoth Tesco delivery which is coming on Tuesday. Some of it is my mums shopping, and some to take to DD2s on Boxing Day, but still!!

Good evening everyone. I feel I've been away from GRU for ages!! It seemed really odd last night not being able to call in on here on my way to bed! Still it was lovely to see the GSs - I hadn't seen them for nearly 4 months, and how they've grown! DS1 is still a little small for 14, but his dad was at that age then suddenly shot up to 6' overnight!! He's being very teenagerish at times, but very funny and sociable at others. GS2 is quiet with a wicked sense of humour and always happy to give me a nice hug, bless him.

Their mum and dad arrived for lunch - which seemed to take forever to cook. I'm sure the gas pressure goes down on a Sunday lunch time and I ended up with dishes queuing up to go in the oven (I've only got a single oven). Still we got there in the end.

Qwerty - poor little GD1 - that was a horrible experience for her. I hope it doesn't make her frightened of the dentists.

Oma - I bought doggy presents on line for all 3 family dogs and Eva kicked up so much fuss when I opened the box that I ended up giving her one - so I'll have to get another now for Christmas Day and smuggle it into the house. Needless to say it was the one toy she and Bailey (son's dog) wanted to play with today and now needs a wash!

WG - I hope the accident wasn't serious. It's awful if you've been a bit fed up with a hold up,only to realise why eventually. I haven't seen the news properly but that accident on the underpass in Birmingham sounds horrendous, and I just keep thinking so many lives and families ruined.

How lovely Gem and Nanto having yummy meals out - 'tis the season!!!

My GD2 is still poorly - she seemed a bit better towards the end of last week, but it seems to have come back and she's been tearful and fretful all week-end, so I'm going over first thing in the morning to look after her. Not quite sure what else, as DS2 is also poorly, but badly needs to go to work (very busy pre-Christmas rush!) so if he is too ill to go to work, I've offered to bring GS2 and puppy over here.

Zizi - My DS2 and family have a very tiny kitchen and they have a shed with the drier and a small chest freezer in, and that works really well. You just have to make sure you get appliances suitable for use in a garage/shed (I'm sure you already know this, but they did find that reduced the choices a bit.)

Oma - I'm sure swapping bedrooms will be worth the effort and even having to chose new curtains for your current room.

You all sound very busy ...as to be expected this time of year. Today (Monday) we're going to Brodsworth Hall & taking DD2 & her two. It's a Christmas event where the gardens are lit like an 'enchanted garden'. I haven't been before, so I'm looking forward to it.
Finished present wrapping & wreath making today. A couple more craft things to make tomoro then it's time to clean, iron etc. Not even thought about food yet. Enjoy your day ladies whatever it is you're doing.

Daisy, hope GD feels better soon.
Gem, i've got a large Asda delivery tomorrow morning, and i keep adding to it.

Off to in laws later, then hubby picking me up, and delivering presents to eldest GD and partner.

Doesn't feel as cold as it has been.

Its a miracle, no frost, snow , rain or wind and it’s not cold . What has Mother Nature in stall for us next I wonder?

Nana your trip to Brodsworth Hall sounds lovely.

Oma I love a garden centre at this time of the year.

Ziiz we haven’t got room for a tumble dryer so I have had to buy an electric clothes air from Lakeland. It’s not as good as a tumble dryer but at least it can be folded away in the cupboard when not needed. OH says there is plenty of room in the spare room to put a tumble dryer but it would look odd in there plus it would have to be dragged into the hall every time I have to put the sofa bed up when someone comes to stay.

                      Qwerty how is GD1 now

Daisy I hope GD2 and DS2 are soon feeling much better.

Ladies , what’s this about jumping off wardrobes ? Just be careful and make sure you land on something soft is all I can say ! ( I couldn’t jump off my wardrobes if I wanted to as they have Christmas presents stacked on to of them)

Cooked chicken pie yesterday but instead of a pastry case ( too much pastry not good for OH I topped the filling with part cooked thin sliced potatoes . I also cooked a casserole in the slow cooker which we will have today as casserols and stews always seem to taste better the following day.
We are planning to do our usual pre Christmas trip to the cemetery today. I have a small Christmas tree to place near dad’s memorial plaque and several bunches of flowers for all the graves that unfortunately seem to get more and more as we get older. OHs family are situated at one end of the cemetery and my family at the opposite end. It’s quite a trek.

I did did manage to wrap the Christmas presents yesterday but now I need to go and buy lots of large Christmas bags to put the presents in. I have such a lot of things to take with us when we stay over at DS’s this Christmas. There are presents, a large bag of nibbles and all things nice to contribute to the festive season. Bottle of wine and a few beers ,a hold all containing our clothes , our medications and my special pillow so that I won’t be lying flat in their spare bed. We are only going for one night!

                      Hope you are all well
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Nana, Brodsworth hall sounds like a lovely outing.

Mimi, i think it was ZIZI that mentioned to Oma about jumping off the wardrobe.
Can you imagine the images in my head.

                          Good morning everyone.

We missed you yesterday Daisy! I'm sorry to hear your GD is still under the weather.
I hope you have a nice day at Brodsworth Hall Nana, it sounds lovely.
The supermarkets do really well from us this time of year don't they Nan2!
Mimi, I often find I need almost as much for one night away as I do for a week!

A frosty start, but hopefully it will all be clear by the time I have to go out.
GS2 for the day, and GD to collect from school. OH will be at home today, which means I can leave the baby napping this afternoon and go to school by myself. A much easier job, no buggy and and out of the car, strapping him in, keeping him amused on the journey etc!

Have a good day everyone. Keep warm, well and happy

Sunshine, no frost here, going to bowls this afternoon, I have homemade mincepies for them all, I hope nobody else brings some as I will have to bring them home. I think the family are mince pied out. Just put one out for the birds.

Good afternoon from an exhausted Gran,

GD2 and DS2 are both poorly. GS is in bed sleeping mostly and I am juggling bet ween a poorly, tearful little girl and a puppy with enough energy to power a steam train. After a morning of running riot he has eaten a huge lunch and gone to sleep. I shall leave the 2 poorly people to look after each other and take Cooper out for a walk, although I think it might be him walking me!

The good news is my iPad is fixed thanks to clever DS1 yesterday.

Nana, that sound like a lovely day out. I hope the weather is being. Kind to you.

Gem, it’s so much harder when you have to take the buggy etc. I was quite pleased that GD2 wanted to walk everywhere. It was slow but better than trying to fold and unfold the buggy.

Mimi, all that talk of food is making me hungry.

I need Ed to find some time to make mince pies etc this week, but I don’t know when. I’ve also got to remember to make the trifle for the wood turning club’s party on Thursday.
