Good to know G was up for a little stroll Clover , don't let him do to much till he's 100% though .

Gem a good night out will make up for the afternoon with your Mum

Qwerty is the bungalow far from where you are now ?

Zizi got to get worse before it gets better but will be worth it

I must confess if it was a choice between getting a tooth out and going to the Dr I would choose the Dentist every time ,

Dentists don't bother me but I just hate going to see the Dr,
I get all churned up inside even if I'm just going for a minor ailment , just hate it .

Going to make sure he takes pain killers before bed , don't have to rush out tomorrow so no need to get up early if he doesn't want to

Im not fat just 6ft too small

ZIZI, your flat might be a mess now,but will look lovely when it's finished.

Oma - I'm glad B has had that dental work done this time - but - ouch - it sounds painful. He really is a hero! I hope the soup was ok.

Zizi - your maisonette must feel like a parallel universe of itself with all that upheaval. Hang in there - it will soon be all over and done with - and you'll love it all the more for having slept on camp beds! xx

Qwerty - it sounds as though what's wrong with the bungalow can be fixed/improved and if it's lees than you were thinking of paying you can be as extravagant as you like with any improvements. I'm nosey - I'd love to see it.

Hahaha - I can just imagine me running up and down stairs answering a bell. OH did get up today before I left to collect GD2. He decided to drive down to the village for a paper (about 1 mile away) thinking he might then carry on for a bit of a drive as he's fed up with being in the house - but he was exhausted and came straight back. So I think he is a little bit better, thank goodness, but feels very weak and is still coughing all the time.

Plant - do you get your new car tomorrow? I hope it doesn't rain (or worse!)

Gem - you were already feeling a bit emotional about A and J's do tonight, so I'm sure you could have done with an 'easy' afternoon with your Mum. Sending big hugs. xx

Clover - pleased to hear G was able to get out for a while today. I'm sure the fresh air would have done him good.

A busy afternoon/evening for me. I collected GD2 from playgroup, and went down to DS2's shop to collect a very boisterous Cooper. Got back to their house, sorted out snacks for both of them, played with both of them, and then all back in the car to pick GD1 up after her after-school club and drop Cooper off with his mum and dad. Took girls back home. Neither of them wanted the spag bol their Mum had ready for them, and ended up with what GD2 calls 'dippy eggs'. (Boiled) No pressure to get them the right consistency - "dippy" doesn't work if they're hard boiled!! Bathed GD2, had a quick chat with DS2 and DIL when they got back from puppy class. Came home, dished up lamb casserole from the slow cooker (thank goodness I got that in this morning!) and am now ready for bed!! <sigh>

            Good morning everyone.

Nan2, I was wondering how your sleeping was going, good to hear you had not too bad a night.

How is the bedroom coming along Zizi?

Oma, that is exactly how I feel!

Yesterday was busy, but certainly not as busy as your day Daisy!

Friends called round in the morning with lots of lovely toys outgrown by their GS, which my 2 will love. We all had coffee and a catch up. After lunch I went to mums via the library and Tesco to buy her some flowers. Then time at mums. After eating OH and I went to the pub until about 9.30. It was completely the right thing to do, and thank you all who encouraged me! I will write more about that on another thread.

GS1 day today. They seem to have ironed out the initial glitches over the roadworks and temporary traffic lights on my route. I will still allow extra time, but not the almost 2 hours I allowed last week! We will be staying there after school, so I will be home around 7 tonight.

I hope Mr Enfys had a good night, and all OHs (and all of you of course!) are well or at least getting there

Daisy and Gemini, your days make me feel dizzy, I never did as much child care as that ever but then I was still working.

I am sure the stroll was a good idea Clover, it was pretty mild here.

Daisy that virus is taking a long time to disappear but I suppose it is the after effects your OH is suffering from now.

I must have missed your post about the bungalow Qwerty, pics would be good

Plant, I think more childcare from more grandparents is usual these days, there are so many of us doing it!

                  (s)

How is everyone this morning ?

I have had a couple of dreadful nights sleep and today its really taking its toll. I feel

DS is popping up for lunch today , I am cooking roast gammon so I need to sort myself out !

                  How is your OH Enfys

Gem sorry to see you had a bad time with mum x

OH has been discussing the idea of decorating the lounge , the only room not to get a lick of paint last year . He is thinking just a fresh coat of paint and dry cleaning the curtains.... I am thinking a whole new look. Fresh paint on the walls, rearranging the furniture , carpet being replaced with flooring etc. His budget about £70-£80 taking into consideration the cost of cleaning the curtains mine is more like £100(s) ! The thing is would I regret having a hard floor , we only have carpet in the lounge and bedroom ( they are exactly the same ) , the rest of the place is tiles in the hall, bathroom and kitchen ( which are all the same ) and hard flooring in the spare room .
At the moment it sounds like hard work and I just can't be bothered with it all.

                  Have a lovely Tuesday everyone

Gem the fitter turned up bang on time (8am) and has been working solidly ever since. He said “I had to come an awful long way to get here”. We asked where from and he said Clare Road which is half a mile away! Said he had never had a job so close. I did not sleep well last night at all, I put details on another thread, the alarm clock one I think.

Mimi we have bitten the bullet and are having a wooden floor in our bedroom. Mind you last night, sleeping in there with no carpet on the floor, when the dogs started yapping it was loud. But I do remember that we paid for a soundproof membrane underneath the flooring which the chap said also retains the heat. Downstairs neighbour has her heating so high that sometimes we don’t have ours on! We had a pair of curtains dry cleaned that were in the spare room, not massive ones and Timpsons charged us £30 so I think your OH might be a bit off in his figures even if you don’t go the whole hog.

Zizi I used to work in a dry cleaners and the usual start price of a pair of lined curtains were about £50-£60 pounds and that was over 9 years ago but fortunately my old boss has a dry cleaners of his own now so I know that I would get them cleaned at a reduced price. Saying that because I worked so long in the dry cleaning business I know that some ( not all, have to be aware of shrinkage of linings and cheap thread used to sew items up ) curtains can be washed gently in warm water and gently spun .

Very dull and rainy here but not so cold, Have just had a good tidy of the cupboards where towels/linen is kept, got rid of some old towels, why did I keep them when I bought lovely new ones when we had the bathroom done!! P will make use of them in the garage and when he’s painting etc.

just had a phone call from him, doing very well...update on YEO, didn’t want to clog this thread up.

Have a good day everyone, hope hubbies are feeling better now.

Gammon Mimi, good idea! We have half a gammon joint in the freezer, which I cooked at Christmas. Maybe we will have that tonight.

I won’t get chance to catch up now, but it’s quiet for a few minutes - GD2 is watching Paw Patrol, and Cooper is asleep. Shhhhh. .... it’s so peaceful and just what I need after a hectic morning. Poor OH had a very bad night so this morning I got to DS2,s by 8 o’clock and phoned the doctors. WhenI told the receptionist his symptoms she said bring him in this morning 10.20. So DS2 and DIL took Cooper to work with them. OH was quite grumpy when I phoned him because he wanted to try and get some sleep! Got GD2 organised, nail biting wait to charge he Kindle Fire! Drove back home with GD2, collected still grumpy OH. Waited in the doctors for nearly an hour. Exhausted games n Kindle, played I-Spy endlessly, mad up silly stories, and still OH wasn’t entertained!! GD2 was very good though. OhH Has to go for. Chest x-ray tomorrow, and has got antibiotics and a referral to Specsavers for a hearing test. Went to chemist, the. Pet shop, then Tesco for a paper for OH. Then back to collect prescription, back to car. Back to Tesco to get the tissues OH hadn’t told me he needed, back home to drop off OH, over to shop to collect Cooper and finally back to DS’s for a late lunch!,

yes, I think grandparents do have to do more for grandchildren these days. It feels that way, anyway. 😎
