      Good morning.

Bitterly cold here and a very thick frost. We do t have to go anywhere this morning luckily, but I think DH is going to his bowling group this afternoon. He won’t be able to play but at least he can have a chat and I think it will do him good........and give me a couple of hours on my own 🙂

Im going to do some baking today. We have friends coming for coffee tomorrow so I need to make a cake at least. Hope you all have a good day and keep warm.

        Good morning all!

Very frosty out. OH will be on the golf course in a couple of hours

Lots to do for me today. I need to colour my hair, make mums Christmas cake, and finish my wrapping. A huge Tesco order is arriving between 12 and I. Then off to collect GS1 from school, filling up with petrol on the way. Back here with him this week, as I am going out tonight, and when I stay at theirs I'm not home until after 7. Tonight, going out for my Christmas meal and present exchange with the 2 friends I used to work with. I usually drive myself when I go out, but OH drops me off and collects me for this one each year, so I can relax and have a drink.

Mimi, I can sense your excitement in waiting for that bin!! I have never painted one, but I would give it a go if I were you!
We will both be busy putting shopping away today Nan2!
Daisy, I think you are due a very good rest sometime soon!!

        Happy Tuesday everyone

Morning everyone - was up a bit late for me today, am working so trying to build up the strength to get stuck in. Took 17 minutes for my work laptop to fire up which was very annoying. We have lost HS2 in the south of England - another one bites the dust. Almost every week there is a bit of bad news but it is never conveyed to the main body of people you only find out if you know someone who knows. Not exactly in keeping with ethics of honesty and openness that has been stuffed down our throats regularly since I started with the company 17 years ago.

Mimi - I have dine on line banking for years. We have two current accounts with different banks and I check them regularly. I have set the husband up on both accounts but he doesn’t remember a single thing about using them. He said I should write it down for him! Err yes love if I do that and someone gets their hands on it we could be wiped out in seconds! Needless to say if I gave him the calaculator thingie and a card now he would not have a clue.

I don’t know about painting the plastic bin but until about five years ago all of our recycling was put into blue small crates then the council decided we should have wheelie bins but did not collect the crates. They said we should recycle them. Well actually council you should have taken them then! Anyway they hung around the garden the first year and then we drilled holes in the bottom and they have been the tomato plant holders for the last three or four years. They are a very vibrant blue so they are hidden behind a big stone bench and between large plants in the corner of the garden.

Gem I do Sainsbury deliveries. As we are away we don’t actually need anything much so I have booked a slot for the 31st with some bits for the family coming here on the 2nd. Usually we wold do a cold buffet but the sons are both back at work and will coming straight from there so we are doing a hot buffet: chicken and spinach casserole with rice (one pot), beef casserole, macaroni pie, jacket pots, salad, cheeseboard, creamy rice pudding and ice cream for the children (they would be disappointed if I didn’t have ice cream for them).

husband and I said we wouldn’t buy presents for each other this year but I have bought some aftershave for him and paid for next day delivery on a new pair of trainers as his split last week. They didn’t turn up yesterday but the company have said they will be here by tomorrow and delivery will be free.

Going into nearest small town in search of the buckwheat flour, there is a health food shop there. I have some cards to deliver around the village but we have had a very heavy frost and it might be slippy out there so I will wait until this afternoon to do that. this morning I must look for that hot thing, just a few bits need attention. I do online banking and check my account every day.

Have a lovely time this evening Gemini with your friends.

Well took gifts to MIL .
She didn't even look at them , just took Them off me and put them on the table ,
No thank you or that's nice , just nothing

To be honest I didn't expect anything else she's always the same never appreciates anything ,
Martin has bought her a small Gusto coffee machine, we just know she will moan she has no work top space to put it even though she's gone on about wanting one all year .
Its a standing joke with us all now , cant wait till Saturday when they take it over

Plant be very careful out there . its very icy in some places ,

Gem enjoy your meal and catch up , your a social butterfly

Afternoon ladies. Yesterday just flew by and though I read posts I didn’t get round to commenting

Why is it when you want to make something special it never turns out as well as when you just chuck it together for yourself? This happened to me yesterday when I wanted to make a basic sponge for visitors. It turned out badly, really heavy though it will be okay for me and hubby as it tastes fine but I just couldn’t offer it to guests. Anyway I looked at the baking powder tub and saw it was out of date so I blamed that. Popped down to local shop for some fresh and made another cake which was fine.Phew! Thought I had lost my touch

Afternoon everyone. Sorry I can't reply to posts individually. M.E always worsens this time of yr. Brodsworth Hall gardens were brilliant. You have to book a time slot. Ours was 5-8pm but with little ones we knew we'd leave sooner.

Both youngest GC start Nursery after Christmas time so I'm just finishing their drawstring bags for their pegs to put in their stockings. Going to surprise OH because I found his mum's 1950's Christmas fairy & I'm sprucing her up to go on top of the tree this yr. Off to sew now. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Good afternoon ladies. Just a very quick post from me, as Cooper-the-Super-Pup is stirring after his post lunch sleep. It’s a hard life for him,, DS2 has gone back to work, not well but needs must. GD2 is about the same poor little lamb. I had an early night last night so don’t feel too bad, but it’s dog training tonight, so a very long day

After much humming and Harrington, we’ve decided to go up to DS1’s on Christmas Day and stay over for Boxing Day. Then on the Wed we’ll play host for GD2’s 4th birthday party. After that I shall put my feet up for a couple of days.

Mimi - you could spray paint that bin with paint that looks like stone. It sounds odd but I used it on a couple of bedside tables OH made and it’s really easy to use but very effective.

Catch up with everone else’s posts tomorrow else tomorrow. 👍👍👍

Cooper sends you a tail wag. 😉

Oh yes Daisy, I saw that paint in Homebase it is called Rustoleum and it comes in different colours. It is £14.99. We have a paper mache huge pot in the sitting room with tall twigs in and plan to spray it so it looks like stone which is how I know about it. At the moment it is pale blue crackle painted. Goodness know when we will get around to painting it. Needs to be dry outside or we will send ourselves into a stupor with the fumes.......

Found the buckwheat flour as expected in the health food shop. Unfortunate it was close to a ladies clothes shop and they had a sale on, need I say more?

Hope your family gets better soon Daisy, it has been a long time you have been nursey. Have a nice rest at your DS1 house for Christmas.

Pleased to hear the second sponge was fine Clover.

Nice to hear from you Nana, just pop in and let us know you are fine. I remember making drawstring bags for my children and grandchildren.

We used the stone spray paint on our Fire surrounds B made its good but not for outdoors ,
We had a couple of pots we wanted to spray so I contacted them and they didn't recommend it , they said it would peel when wet.
inside pots would be fine though
                            Ours is Beige/parchment like colour

Mimi, there is also a product called Plasticote. don't know if it's good or not.
                              We have never used it.

                                Very mild here this morning.

Hubby was up early so we had an early breakfast.

Going to mix some fruit cakes this morning and get them baked.

A pile of ironing to do as well.

Youngest is coming for dinner for dinner when he's finished at work, so last night i took a large home made steak, mushroom and onion out of the freezer.

                                Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Wishing you all a good day.
