Our snow is still on the cars but the roads are good. There is a lot to moan about with our council but they do always make sure to grit the road. It is going to snow again tomorrow but according to my weather app that is the last time before Christmas but, of course, that could be telling fibs

We haven't had any snow for a few hours now. What was laying has almost gone.
Our next door neighbour said it will be late tonight when we get more.

Evening just back from the Carol Service , no snow here just a few flurries. Well, if you aren’t religious after singing Hark the herald, Joy to the world etc it certainly uplifts you I love a sing song, G\ ds choir sang beautifully except she sneezed part way through lol, whe you think they are only 7 yrs old to sing in front of a large audience at the Town Hall in front of the Lord Mayor it must be daunting, the Lord Mayor by the way lives in my Dd road hence they are first to have the road gritted always a bonus 🤪 OH enjoyed it very much another bonus
I am on now as I am at nail salon at 9 in the morning 😱 and out for Xmas lunch with my friends and ex colleagues we are going to Gino di’ Campio restaurant hope he’s there 🤭 a few cocktails a salute to my gorgeous friend no longer with us and a posh coffee , we used to go to the Queens Hotel for coffee a posh place but since Jimmy Saville was at rest in the bar in his coffin, where you could walk round and pay respects I never go in just too creepy !!!!!
Hope again there is no snow tomorrow have a good Monday all

It's a bit late to say 'good morning', in fact it's almost too late to say anything!

We have no snow down here, but heavy rain last night left the garden flooded. It wasn't too bad this morning and when the rain stopped we dashed out to take Eva for a run in the paddock. The wind was perishing though, and then it started to rain again. We got back home just before it came down in bucketsful, cold, wet and tired.

I was a bit surprised the washing machine hadn't finished - and when I looked it was still full of water and had stopped working. Grrrrr...... OH's response was we'll ring for an engineer tomorrow. Mine was, 'oh no we won't. I need to get those clothes out of the machine today'. So I Googled the fault - either a blocked filter or a broken pump Mr Google said. So we fiddled about with it, flooded the utility room (thank goodness I hadn't cleaned the floor yesterday) and finally got a full load of dripping wet, unrinsed clothes out into a couple of buckets. What on earth do you do with all that dripping wet washing in December when the rain is pelting down! I squeezed out as much as I could, despite a poorly thumb. I've now got 2 poorly thumbs! Then shoved half of them into the dryer. Anyway, eventually OH got the machine to go again so we put everything back in to rinse and spin. I can't believe that this took several hours, but it did! Fingers crossed it stays working while I catch up with the 4 other loads I didn't do today.

I'm still shivering from this morning, and keep sneezing. I will NOT have a cold this week. I won't, I won't, I won't!!!!

Avo - that looks so pretty, and I bet everyone enjoyed building the snowman.

Plant - well done - you've had a productive day. I hope GD gets to work safely tomorrow - the forecast isn't good.

Stay warm and safe everyone. x

Qwerty - you posted while I was typing, but I'm so glad your GD choir did well. It must have been daunting and exciting for them. Enjoy your Christmas lunch tomorrow, flashing your posh nails.

Welcome back Oma, we missed you! Damned heating, I hope it is quickly fixed!
Oh dear Daisy, you could have done without that for sure! I hope you are not getting a cold.
I bet it was lovely to hear your GD Qwerty, I hope you have a lovely lunch tomorrow.
                      Lovely photos Avo

Snow hasn't melted at all and the family say the roads were very slippery. GD is expected at work tomorrow at 6 am, no way will she get there, I hope she doesn't try. They suggest you go to another store if you can but the other one is just as far. The nearest to us is a food hall, she could walk there. DD school will be closed and I have had messages to say my Christmas dinner with my Guiding friends has been cancelled. We live quite high up so if there is snow about we get it. I am sure the children are pleased school will be closed, they will have the sledges out.

Oh Daisy, what a to do with the washer. Pleased you manaded to get it going again.

Qwerty, Carol service sounds good. Well done to GD's choir.

Welcome home Oma, hope you get the heating fixed today.

We haven't had any snow since early yesterday afternoon If this is as much as we are going to get,i'm happy.

                          Off to in laws later.

Oma, what a nasty surprise for you both coming home to a cold house with the heating broken down, typical on one of the coldest days so far. Hope it gets fixed ASAP.

Nan2 if you didn’t have any more snow and would like some we have more than enough here going spare !

                            Avao those pictures are great.

Zizi I hope the weather men are correct and things improve from tomorrow

Plant that’s a shame about your dinner cancellation but perhaps you can rearrange for another date?

It’s an extremely cold day here again today and all the snow hasn’t melted one little bit. It is very slippery out, lots of black ice and freezing fog in some areas.
All the schools are closed, local buses are running a very small service. There will be none around here as they cannot get off the main road and up the hill .Our two DSs are unable to work today .
I’m not sure what I am going to do with myself today as I wouldn’t be going out, perhaps wrap those presents I said I would do yesterday?

                            Keep warm ladies

                              Good morning everyone.
The temperature here is minus 3. According to my phone the 'real feel' is minus 9 !!Poor OH has to be on the golf course by 9.15

I feel so sorry for Oma and OH!! I hope the heating is fixed today. If not will you go to your DDs or to friends Oma?
I think wrapping the presents is a good idea Mimi.
Wrap up warm when you to go in laws Nan2.
I'm sorry your dinner with guiding friends is cancelled Plant. Will you get to reschedule before Christmas? If not maybe a January meet up?

This morning I can stay warm at home and finish the Christmas decorations. This afternoon I will pick up my mum. We are going to her oldest friends house. We chose a day when her friends DD is also free, as she and I rarely see each other, so a get together for the four of us will be nice. It is forecast to rise just above freezing by the time I set out.

Keep warm if you can ladies. The Tea Rooms and Granny's Arms are open as usual. Log fires, hot chocolate, coffee, Mulled wine. Take your choice

Good morning everyone. I can't say we're basking in sunshine, because we're not, but compared to the rest of you our wet, dark, dreary day is good! I think there may be flooding, but I haven't got to go out until lunchtime to collect GD2 and by then roads that are flooded will be closed. That's much better than travelling a couple of miles only to find you've got to turn back and go another way!

Please keep your fingers crossed for my washing machine - I've just put another load in.

Plant - I hope your lunch with your Guiding friends can be rearranged.

Mimi - just think how pleased you will be if you get those presents wrapped today!

Nanto - I hope you don't get any more snow if you've got to go out to your in laws.

Oma - sending you warm hugs. Can you get your heating fixed today? Wrap up warm, lots of hot drinks etc.

I'm still trying not to give in to this cold. I ache all over and feel really tired, and know the sensible thing is to go back to bed but I've got things I need to get ready for GSs coming on Saturday. As someone else said (sorry I can't remember who) it's hard to hide all the pressies, and I've got a lot arriving this week as well!

Off to the Tea Rooms for breakfast.
