    Morning all

Gem good news about your mum’s review.

Just clicked on your link Daisy, it looks like chaos there.

I’m up at stupid o’clock this morning as I am meeting DS at the hospital. He has had back problems for a long time and a new GP at his surgery looked back on his MRI scans he had done about 5 years ago and he said he appears to have thinning of the bones in the base of his spine so I said I would keep him company while he waits in the waiting room. I suspect it will be a long wait !
Hopefully after we will go for a coffee and then do some Christmas shopping.

Keep warm ladies and have a nice day.....Oh in case you hadn’t noticed it is now DECEMBER, I wonder if Jack has sorted us out a nice Christmas tree in the tea room

I can now see that you are aware it’s December

Good morning Nanto and Mimi and happy December everyone.

Mimi - I hope you don't have to wit too long in the hospital, and more importantly, your DS's back problems can be treated. Jack was last seen chatting to Plant and her GD and DIL - a few days ago.

We're off to Bournemouth this morning for OH's Pensioners' Club's Christmas lunch. It's a nice hotel on the sea front, but I do'nt suppose I'll be able to persuade OH to have a walk afterwards to recover from a huge meal! Usually we go with friends, but they can't make it this year so we don't know who we'll be sitting with, but I'm sure it will be fun.

      Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, Very cold but bright here this morning,

Enjoy your lunch, Daisy. It would be a lovely day for a walk along the cliff top.

Off to docs with DH this morning, he’s not sure if his meds are agreeing with him so need to try and get it sorted out, otherwise, staying home in the warm.

Enfys - I do hope the doctor can change your OH's meds to something that suits him better. It isn't quite as cold today and we didn't have frost overnight, but still, keep warm both of you. x

Dr's, well nurse for me this morning, I presume as I haven't heard anything that they will go ahead with the injection for my bones. then GD and I are off to JL then food shopping.

Hope the Dr. can sort out your husbands meds. Enfys

Sorry to hear about your sons back problems Mimi, nothing worse than back pain.

            Have a lovely time Daisy.

Zizi we had a BMW auto about 6 years ago , never again they are awful on the snow we have a very slight incline in our cul-de-sac and there was just no traction , they are front wheel drive , Many a time we had to leave it on the drive of the lady at the bottom of the street who kindly offered her space not having a car herself ,
One year when it snowed I had to come up to our house get the boys sledge to put the shopping on to pull home as we couldn't get to the door with it ,
Another time We had several neighbours pushing and several front door mats under the tyres to get it to the door and never used it again till the snow melted .

Good morning everyone, and happy December 1st! We can now officially talk about Christmas. Not that we haven't been for weeks

It isn't snowing here, but there is still a lot of snow about. The sun has just come out, so fingers crossed it thaws it.
Out cat sitter was due to come for a reflexology treatment today. She has cancelled as they are snowed in. They live high up and near the coast.
OH and I are going into town later. I have an order to collect from Hotel Chocolat, a restaurant voucher to buy for DD2 and SIL, mum 's banking to do, and just generally look around, as we don't go into town often. I also have to make mince pies today for this choir concert tomorrow. As they are donating their proceeds to the library group, we are obliged to help. I don't sound as though I am doing this with very good grace, do I?!!

Zizi, I love my automatic, but they don't handle as well in icy or deep snow conditions, which is part of my dread of snow. Don't forget however, I am a comparatively 'new' driver, passed when I was 50. Someone with your driving experience would probably cope better!
Yes Oma, I finally managed the 5 minute walk to the bank!! You would think I was made of money, wouldn't you ? Naughty Storm!
Plant, I have heard that Birmingham Christmas markets are lovely.
Enfys, I hope a change of meds does the trick for your OH.
                    Have a lovely lunch Daisy
I hope the wait isn't as long as you fear Mimi.
Nan2, you could still have started a Welcome December thread

Keep warm everyone. No slipping and falling over. Feel free to drop into the Tea Rooms for a free cuppa and mince pie and to help with the decorations!

                      Very nice Oma

I got stuck at the bottom of my mums cul de sac on Christmas, for the same reason. I am only licenced to drive automatic though, so it is that or don't drive.

Gem I think its more the make of car BMW are notorious for being a problem in the snow , we have several friends and family who have had BMW's and all say the same , there was ( don't know if still is ) a forum about them and the problems getting up banks etc .

Yet another possible problem to add to DH’s ailments! The doc thinks he might have claudication of the arteries in his legs. He has to go and have a pressure test next week....nothing to worry about at the moment but another one for the list. I told him, I know you like BOGOF but this is ridiculous! The doc doesn’t think the new meds have got anything to do with it, so we will await the results of the test.

Oh dear Enfys. Hope it all gets sorted.

Gem and Oma - around here there are not a lot of hills to negotiate, well none I can think of, and we do not get the heavy snow some of you other ladies experience. In London three flakes is a blizzard so I don’t think I will have too much trouble. Plus all of the tube and station car parks are well gritted (H&S I expect) and the local council grits the roads regularly even if there is no sign of frost or snow.

we have just been to the butchers seven miles away to buy the meat for the week and the freezer. On the way I said to husband that we were going over to see Joe and Sadie tomorrow about 2pm. Went to greengrocers and “lost” him. I am used to losing him in the supermarket but a local greengrocers?? Well anyway when he reappeared he gleefully advised that someone is coming round to measure up for fitted wardrobes in our room TOMORROW ABOUT 2PM. The conversation we had regarding the children was all of five minutes before and he says he listens to me.......

Eldest son used to have a BMW, but he said it was no good when we had snow.

Enfys, hope DH meds can be sorted.

Mimi, hope you are not too long waiting in the hospital.
