Daisy I use good old Brasso on the brass. It can get a bit messy but I wear plastic gloves. In the cleaning box there is also a tube of Bettaware metal polish which I occasionally use.It has the texture of toothpaste.

Ah, so there's no magic, modern cleaner then. To be fair, the wadding stuff works quite well, but it always seemed messy. I got rid of what bit of brass we had because I hated cleaning it, but at one time we had brass furniture on the front door."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Welcome home Qwerty, of course we missed you, it’s lovely to have you back.
Enfys hope you are able to relax and not dwell too much on things x
Right, here goes ...at the risk of being thrown out of the MT club ( all this talk of brass started it ) , what do you use to clean interior door handle that look like brass but are not ?
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning ladies, and a WARM welcome home to Qwerty - it should be a little less cold today, but I think you'll still need your flannelette drawers!
Oma - I hope you got some sleep.
Enfys - how are you this morning. I hope you didn't have a sleepless night.
Mimi - the solution to your door knob problem is to hand a Christmas wreath on the inside instead of the outside then it won't show!
Nanto - lunch was lovely , and I'm still not hungry!
Such an exciting day in store for me - feeding neighbours' cats, the dreaded housework, defrosting the dog's freezer ready for a delivery this afternoon, and a couple of loads of washing/ironing. I think I might come over all unnecessary with the thrill of it!
I hope everyone else has a better, more interesting day.

Morning ladies I got 2 hours sleep , I fell asleep on the sofa watching TV about 6 then B got up and woke me to go to bed so I went up and slept till 8.15 .
Mimi you could try lemon juice but be careful as its acidic and could bring the coating off , or try Baby oil just a little it doesn't need much to go a long way ,
Everyone busy today even the dreaded ironing is getting done
I have cleaned my windows and glass tables and then DD just rang could I have Storm this morning while she takes GS1 for some clothes
Just finished ironing , got a load in the wash once that's done and dry I will iron that lot and its done ,
Wonder if Qwerty warmed up once she got to bedIm not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning everyone
Qwerty, we missed you muchly!
Fun day for you indeed Daisy!!
2 hours Oma, you must be tired. I don't think it's polite to wonder how Qwerty got warmed up once in bed
This morning I must make mince pies for this concert tonight, then deliver them later to one of the WI ladies. I am also going to soak the fruit to make one of the Christmas cakes tomorrow. Maybe write cards, maybe do some ironing!

Welcome home Qwerty, did you bring us some sunshine? 🌞
still sleeping well, thank goodness. DH wants to get the tree and lights up! We’ve never done it this early but I think it will cheer us up, and if he feels inclined to do it I’m going to let him.
Freezing cold this morning, so doing a few jobs will keep,us warm. Must try and get out for a walk too, exercise is good for, this latest development apparently.

Morning from a frozen qwerty, I have had a lovely holiday thanks for the welcome back, I intend I say intend to write a journal about it at some point, 2 loads of washing done and all hanging out it’s blowing nicely, Cases and bags unpacked and put away did this holiday really happen !
Apparently Ive been missed at home, really well well. Dd OH is working in Portugal and she says she’s been lonely bless, my DS says the kids can’t understand where we are
We had prearranged to have the twins for a sleepover tonight so that’s still on the agenda so not much chance of being on here over the w/e they have a works do
Dd by pure coincidence had a letter last week to say g/d is an angel in nativity play so guess whose getting an early Xmas present 😌 so she’s calling for it today ! Beef casserole in slow cooker yay
Oma you can’t function on a couple of hrs when Storm has a sleep nap with the dog 🐕
I had managed to keep looking on GRU but it’s difficult to send texts on a little iPhone so will catch up on posts eventually
Last of xmas shopping to do next week, got the twins Tuesday, Enfys hope all is proceeding as hoped, and no one is poorly on here, Daisy have you been given an extra child took look after as in the puppy 😳 will chat when time allows me
Oh by the way when we got home the temp in the house was 4 deg it was enough to freeze the b***s off a brass monkey we left the heating on all night toasty warm this morning 😊
Gem he was sent to the other bedroom for snoring last night no hanky panky in these temps 😅
Oooh cards to write forgot phew stamps to buy

Nice to see you Qwerty
There is always a lot to catch up on after a holiday, both here and at home, so you catch up here when you can! We would love to hear about your holiday in your journal when you get round to it. No rush!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

So pleased you had a lovely holiday Qwerty, the weather certainly has changed whilst you were away. Looking forward to the journal
I am off to the church this morning to see the display of Christmas trees, several organisations including the playgroup decorate a tree and they are displayed in the church for two days. My WI chose a winter theme. Then I must make the mince pies, the pastry is made and resting (for 2 days) waiting for me to get on with them.
I had a message from youngest GD yesterday, could I have a look in the charity shops near me to find some whisky glasses for her boyfriend, she hasn't found any in Camden. I have bought various cut glass items from local charity shops, so it's on with my Sherlock Holmes hat, I have a mission.
