That sounds lovely Avo, I don't think I would want to go out if I was that cosy.

In spite of my late start, I have made butternut soup, bread, pastry for mince pies resting in the fridge.
All with the aid of machines of course and those are now in the dishwasher.

What a carry on! Dear SIL, highly intelligent but oh so disorganised at times, neglected to tell nursery that I was collecting the baby. Although they know me well (all 3 GC went to that nursery) they can't allow a child to go with anyone but the parents unless told. I worked in childcare myself, and have had to be the one telling someone they can't take a child so I understand. It took ages to get a parent on the phone. DD is away working and SIL in Tesco having left his phone in the office!! Eventually one of them was contacted and I was allowed to take GS2. Most confusing to him, as he wanted Grandma to take him straight away and leave!
GS is asleep now. I wouldn't like to be in SIL's shoes when DD gets back! A few weeks ago he passed near our house (A couple of miles from where he works) to drive all the way to nursery near where they live, for GS, who was at our house, never been to nursery that day!! He had to phone me to explain and do the 25 minutes plus drive back to get the baby. Honestly!

A bargain with the tree Glamma, it pays to shop around sometimes.
Avo a lovely cosy picture you paint!
Welcome home Zizi. £1.350, no wonder you left the plate where it was!!
        Very productive Plant

It seems everyone is having a busy day. Avo - two minds with a single thought - cuddle up to the log burner. Or as my GD2 calls is "Grandma's cauldron"!!!

I made soup this morning for Compo, Cleggy and Foggy! Lots of vegetables and it came out a nice golden colour, and they all seemed to like it. They are busy making spinning tops for Cleggy's son's wedding next September! I think they are going to be part of the table decorations, so you can imagine they were spinning them all over the place while I was dishing up the soup. Just glad they didn't land in the soup!

Oh, Gem - how frustrating for you and GS2 having to wait while they contacted GS's parents. At least you understood the 'rules', I think there would be some grandparents who would be annoyed because they are known by the Nursery.

Zizi - welcome back. Glad you didn't have to work today after all, and I hope you soon thaw out. It's cold enough when you've been here all week, but coming back from sunny climes must be freezing.

Gem as you say what a carry on and frustrating for you but good for the Nursery for sticking to the rules. No wonder GS was a bit confused.

Zizi I’m glad you’re home safely despite the cold delays.

Plant you certainly made up for lost time. That extra sleep must have given you an energy boost.

I hope any ladies having a quiet ,cosy afternoon feel refreshed.

Daisy the soup sounds delicious.Just the thing for a freezing day

My day has been a bit frustrating too.Sitting waiting for the oven engineer with the kitchen all cleared I got a phone call to say the part hadn’t come in. We are out tomorrow so I had to reschedule for Friday.
I then had a dental appointment to fix my broken tooth.Arrived in a rush as I mistook the time and then was told the appointment wasn’t until the 13th. I know very well it was for today as the first time they offered me coincided with the oven man so Iwas given a later slot. This is how I know it was today. Anyway they asked dentist and luckily she said she would fit me in if I waited. In the end I only waited about 15 minutes and then was seen. The tooth was repaired and I had the check up I was booked for just before Christmas as well. We’ll still have to go then as OH has check up appointment .
            I feel somewhat shattered

A very frosty cold day here. Had a rotten night as I was up with a stomach upset. Went back to bed eventually this morning and slept, until 12.00. Feel ok now, just a bit tender.

Saw the cardiac rehab nurse yesterday, not the actual cardiologist, my mistake. She went through everything with us, all is well with his heart and we now just have to wait to hear about the op. I think we might ring them next week just to see what they have planned.

i hope you are all keeping warm

Some of you have certainly had busy/confusing days.
                Enfys,pleased you are feeling better.

Avo, i wrap my presents as i get them, really don't like present wrapping.

Been to see my friend (the one who had breast cancer) who is waiting for her reconstruction operation. She is very well.
E has to go to the local hospital tomorrow for CT scan, and then to Sheffield next week, for another CT scan.
She just wants to get the operation over with now.Hopefully, it might go ahead in January.

Clover - my quiet(ish) afternoon has left me feeling so relaxed I need an early night, or I might just fall asleep on the living room floor! It was good to get your tooth repaired and the check up done together. I had a check up last week and then straight into the hygienist and was back home within the hour.

Everyone seemed to like the soup, but I didn't make enough for leftovers.

Enfys - poor you, I hope you sleep ok tonight and feel better. Good news that all is ok with OH's heart. It will be good to know when his op is booked for so you can make plans round it.

Plant - what a busy but productive day.

Nanto - I hope your friend can have her reconstructive surgery in January, but you must both be delighted she is doing so well.

There's definitely a wintery theme to the graphics this morning. We've had quite a heavy frost but the sun's shining, and it doesn't feel quite as raw as yesterday - so far! Mimi - I hope your naughty step is indoors, even if he did wake you up at silly o'clock!

I'm on a mission to rid the house of dog hairs today. Eva seems to be moulting - in this weather!!! Doesn't she know it's winter!!!

Gem - I hpe your mum is ok. I'm sure she will enjoy tea and cake afterwards.

Nanto's beef casserole sounds just the job for this cold weather. How are your in laws coping with the cold weather?

                          Stay warm everyone.

Aqua for me today, so up early, well not as early as Mimi, then tea with a couple of friends this afternoon. No Jack Frost in the garden and the sun is trying to come out.

Beef casserole sounds just right Nanto.

I am sure your mum will enjoy her cuppa and cake after the doctors.
