Long post on YEO, bit of a rant so don’t go there if you don’t want to hear me moaning 🤭

Raining here, dull but doesn’t seem so cold. I’m going to do some batch cooking today to get things in the freezer and hopefully make a cake. DH has no appetite so am trying to tempt him with different things, He’s not a foodie, would happily eat the same two or three meals all his life but we need variety.

Have had lots of texts and photos from DGD in Australia, she is having a wonderful time by all accounts. Haven’t had chance to read back on all your posts, so hope everyone is keeping well and warm.

Come on now weather for goodness sake buck up !

Morning all , as you can see yet another wet day .

Enfys I will go and put the kettle on and make a cup of coffee and then pop and read your post, I'm sure your aren't moaning , more likely to be getting it off your chest which you are more than welcome to do .

DS has just rung all of the household has been unwell with the dreaded lurgy. DS had his flu vac back in November , that didn't stop him getting it but he was over sooner than the rest of the family . Poor DIL has been in bed for days and that's not like her at all so she must be feeling really rough. He said she has come downstairs today, sat on the sofa looking as if she regretted the idea of leaving her bed , poor love.

Hope everyone is well , have a lovely Saturday ladies

Freezing here today. Don’t want to go out but we have no bread or vegetables and I have a huge bag of charity shop stuff cluttering the place up. This bag includes about six pairs of really good trousers which are too big for me now. I haven’t worn them for ages it is true to say so I hope someone gets good use out of them. It also includes some really nice curtains from NET which weekend in my bedroom but we have a blind in there now.

I have an interview on Tuesday so we are going to do a dry run tomorrow as there is not a lot of parking near the office I am going to so I want to see where I can head for and not make myself late. It might even be on a bus route although it will probably be quite a long journey as the bus goes half way around the world.

we have been told that we must apply for job seekers allowance as we qualify for pay in lieu of notice from the redundancy service and for it comes to about eight thousand quid plus statutory redundancy but the amount of JSA will be deducted from the notice pay regardless of whether we qualify and I qualify for precisely not a penny. So I have to go and be interviewed at the job centre and take all sorts of evidence with me for them to tell me I don’t get a penny. Now I want even going to apply but if I don’t there will be over £800 deducted from my redundancy pay and I don’t see why the government should keep that money. I am not looking forward to going to the job centre, I have had dealings with them in my job and have not been too impressed the majority of the time.

Had a lovely evening with the wedding ladies, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Mother of the bride to be is a teacher and had made games for us such as what words of wisdom we would give the bride and groom. All the younger brides friends including my GD1 have gone to a spa. I expect we shall see my GS1 with baby E today as he will be on his own till tomorrow afternoon. Not sure when GS1 is going to have his stag do, I know they are going to York (watch out you ladies who hail from there) I think it is something to do with bikes GS2 is organising it.

Sorry to hear yet more family members are suffering this dreaded virus, hope they get better soon.

Lovely to hear your GGD is having a lovely time Enfys.

              Afternoon ladies.

Wet and windy here. Dashed to local shop but trousers got soaked!

Had a phone call from my sister to say BIL taken to hospital last night with chest infection and breathing problems. He also has fluid on his lungs and an enlarged heart which of course is under more strain. I’m so worried as they don’t have any children and I am the only relative and I’m 300 miles away. OH can’t drive all that way so I feel helpless. M ( my sister ) said they asked her if she wants them to attempt resuscitation if it came to that.Apparently they also asked BIL.
M lives quite a way from the hospital and has to get a bus to the station and then a train.I told her to use taxis and blow the expense.
She has been up all night and is going to visit this afternoon. I hope and pray for an improvement and recovery. Any positive vibes or prayers would be so appreciated.Thank you.

Oh Clover sending all good wishes for you poor sister and BIL. You were quite right to tell her to take taxis. She will be stressed enough without having to contend with all that public transport in this cold weather.

Oma, it was cold and we were glad to get back. We both wrapped up warmly and we drove to the start of our delivery route rather than walk as we usually do.
We came home and had soup and cheese on toast, and are staying inside now!
