        Good morning everyone.

It's very windy here as well Nan2. No collections around here at all this week, we had double last week.

DD1 and GS are coming over this morning and staying for llunch . This afternoon I'm taking my mum out shopping and for coffee. When she sees how windy it is however she may opt for me to do her shopping, then have coffee at hers!

It's windy here, too, but at least it's dry! I hope B's chemo goes well today, Oma. Will be thinking about him.

We got our monthly glass collection yesterday, but our ordinary bin collection is Friday so we missed last week's and I think this week's will be on Saturday. We're lucky we can just store the full bags (no wheelie bins) in the trailer and cover it over, but people have been getting their black bags raided by the local wildlife! Still, on the whole our rubbish collection service is brilliant, so I'm not grumbling.

Not a good day, many years ago I belonged to a forum and like on here made friends with quite a few ladies. About 8 years ago 5 ladies came to stay at my home for a weekend, we all had a great time getting to know one another. Many years later I still had contact with several of them on FB, today I had news that one has died at the age of 59. She had been fighting thyroid cancer for many years, undergone operations, various drug treatments. I spoke with her a few weeks ago as I could see she had lost an awful lot of weight, she said she was still battling the cancer but was not terminal. Apparently her body just couldn't cope with the chest infection she has recently had. Life is so cruel, she genuinely was the kind of person I would aspire to be. Her husband was her soul mate and her family came first. Heaven has acquired a real angel. I feel shocked and saddened.

The weather here is pretty bad DD was going back to work today but got a call to say again their electrics had gone and the emergency lights that kick in also ran out at 7.15 this morning, and the carp park was under water the office block backs onto the River Aire. Unfortunately dad had dropped g/d off on his way to work a waste of time so a few hours later she picked her up as I had the twins as well

Libra Gran - it's so sad to lose a friend, and she sounds as though she was one of the best. Big hugs xxx

Oma - so relieved that the chemo session went well today, just sorry you both had such a tiring day of it. M&S cottage pie sounds just the job. Relax and recover. xxx

Qwerty - you are a star having all 3 children at once, even though GD didn't stay all day. Understandably the news puts all the emphasis on houses and high street shops but the flooding of other places of work is just as disrupting and distressing. I hope things return to normal soon. xxx

Libra, I'm so sorry the hear about your friend She sounded a lovely lady.

What a tiring day Oma. Put your feet up both of you xx

We had DD1 and GS here for lunch. They arrived mid morning and had to leave just after 2, as I had to go to my mums and they were going into town. GS watched Stick Man which I had recorded, played and chatted to us all. We all ate lunch, and when it came to time to prepare to leave, GS was a little beast, hitting and biting DD. He actually bit her sleeve, but as DD said it was the principle. He needs to learn to control his temper. He really feels the world should revolve around him, and can't cope when it doesn't! It is such a pity as he can be an adorable child and is so good at bedtime. I hope this a phase! His parents are sweet and gentle, but apparently SIL was similar to this when he was small!!
SIL2 is beginning to fear the arrival of their baby boy. His best friend had a very naughty boy, so he is witnessing negative boy behaviour. .I told him I doubt theirs will be allowed to get away with half that boy or my GS do, and DD2 is made of sterner stuff
