    Good morning everyone

    Nice day doing nothing today

TV to catch up on, chocolates to be eaten. I may put a loaf in the breadmaker and put a wash load on. Bubble and squeak and ham for tea, nice and quick!

Oma, it will be at least a couple of weeks to wait for a funeral at this time of year.

        Enjoy your restful day!

Hope everyone enjoys their restful day.

We are awaiting the invasion of DD SIL and GC who spend Christmas with other grandparents in Hampshire and usually come on to us in Wales on Boxing day. This year they are in the throes of a big house extension/reconstruction so wanted to go home for a night to check on progress before coming on to us as they have been away from their house from 21st.

So awful for the flooded people. It seems even more widespread this time.

So many poorly children and adults at the moment! Get better soon everyone.

The flooding is very bad in and around York. I am most concerned about DD3 and her OH who bought their first house this year - in town not far from the river. So far they are OK and haven't been advised to evacuate or remove valuables. Its a nice day today, but I know the flooding continues for a while due to rain coming down from the hills.

Hoping it dries up soon, for everyone affected.

Oh dear Qwerty, hope all the children will be feeling better soon.

Watched all the news yesterday about the floods,it must be devastating for those it happens to.

Had a more normal day yesterday and today, which is what I like.

Been to eldest son's again, hubby been helping him with some outside jobs.

Qwerty I hope your little people are soon fit and well, sounds like you have had a busy Christmas. I feel so much for those poor people with this awful flooding, hope the Government take heed and sort this fiasco of flood barriers once and for all. It must be soul destroying to go through this not once but twice or three times. Gem I hope your DD's home escapes any problems. I didn't really believe in climate change just thought it was something scientists came up with to explain our rotten summers and mild winters. But it does seem as though things are changing, has anyone ever known such a mild winter. I would prefer a good cold spell even though I hate the cold,at least these nasty bugs would be killed off. Well no main meal in this house today, far too much rich food consumed over the last 2 days. Assorted cheese and crackers with homemade chutney for us tonight. Back to work tomorrow just for the 1 day until Saturday. My retirement countdown is speeding by and the way time flies away from us October will soon come around.
