Morning Nanto and everyone. The graphic makes me think of Spring, and since we're less than a week away from the shortest day, Spring can't be too far away! Hurrahhh! It's quite breezy here today, but hopefully it will stay dry. There was an amazing sunrise. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone.
Daisy, I have the shortest day marked on my calendar, with a smiley face
Less of a hectic day today. The usual shopping, coffee etc with my mum, but nothing else on the calendar. This morning I will sort out the spare room for GDs stay over the weekend. It is full of Christmas boxes which need to go back in the loft!
I may make the mashed potatoes and swede for Christmas Day, for the freezer. My mum loves mashed swede, so we have to have it in Christmas Day, but it's fiddly, so I prefer to get it done ahead.
Quite warm here for December!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning all we have had a naughty cat in the garden today, we have a small tree in the garden but it's quite broad so we hang lights on there. We got up to see the lights on the floor and a cat playing with the bulbs like they would a mouse, another job for OH but wonder if it will make habit of it!
The 21st would have been my mum and dads anniversary so will be going with a wreath on the Sunday maybe a short day but we have eldest g/d she will make it as long as she can lol
Food shopping today and housework😝 Enjoy your day everyone I will we have twins grandma down so some respite

Emergency call from husband to get him a Christmas jumper for tomorrow. Oh well I don't have anything else to do like work, go up to town etc. Nipped to Tesco, car park packed! In and out as quickly as possible. The jumper is an elf outfit and he is going to look completely daft, there were not many jumpers left and that was the only XL one. I was going to get a Santa hat and beard but I thought that might be overkill!!
Off out shortly to meet ex connector colleagues. Will probably be the last time I see them.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Hubs has an assortment of hats none of which are in the least flattering on him but then they are for warmth and not a fashion statement. I cannot carry off wearing a hat at all, no matter what style I always end up looking like Edna the Inebriate woman lol, oh to look chic and a la mode, but afraid not..I must purchase a head covering of some description for the cold weather when it arrives solely for dog walking time.

LG - I once sat next to a 'hat lady' who was a speaker at a lunch who told me that there's a hat to suit everyone . Not me, I said, Immediately after the lunch she fetched a hat I would never have thought of trying on - and apart from being the wrong colour, it looked perfect! So maybe there is a hat for you out there. But for chilly dog walking days you can't beat one of those hats that snuggle in close to your ears and end in a cosy scarf to keep your neck warm. After all, the dog doesn't mind at all!

Morning all? I've got a bit of a headache this morning so please try not to rattle the cups this morning when you make your morning cuppa.
I'm not sure what has brought this headache on but I'm certain it has nothing to do with my night out with the 'girls'.
We went for a Christmas meal and halfway through it we discovered that it was quiz night so we thought we might as well join in. Who knew that answering lots of questions could prove to be so funny, much to the annoyance of our fellow serious 'quizers ' .
I'd like to say we did well but sadly that is not the case, there was a lot of questions we knew nothing about, football for a start, I don't know one football manager from another and Star Wars ! Who knows anything about Stars Wars, stupid questions. We did well on the music round and not too bad on general knowledge but football and Star Wars... I ask you !
We enjoyed it though, we laughed till we cried. Best night we have had out in a long time, we all needed it as this year has been tough on all off us in one way or another.Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Pleased for you Aggie, comforting to have good news for a change long may it continue. Dry and so mild here, would rather have a cold snap to get rid of all these germs circulating around the family. Easy day for us, I have Doctors at midday then fish and chips for lunch. No cooking now that I like."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

Good morning everyone.
I hope your headache is better soon, Mimi! Glad you had a good night out.
Aggie lovely news that DS is coming and hubby more mobile
Today I am meeting one of my oldest online friends for lunch. Well she is 17 years my junior, but she is one of the longest serving online friends! We were on the same forum and realised we then lived a mile from each other! We used to go walking every week, and meet for lunch several times a year. Now it is generally one Christmas meet up, which is today.
While in town I will go to Lakeland to collect Christmas tree stars I ordered online last night. When at my mums yesterday we were talking about tree topper stars and both wishing we had ones with lights. I found these on Lakeland, reduced, and ordered us one each
Tonight OH and I are calling in to friends, to drop off their Christmas present. All is wrapped here apart from OH's things, which I must do and put under the tree and in her stocking!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
