Gem, I bet you were surprised to find your mum in the pub!!!

Oma, I don't mind a trip into town, it is easy on the underground, if it is running that is. The shop is in the centre as well. M does a lot for me so I can do this for her.

Gem, what on earth next, fancy your mum going to the pub.
      Glad she enjoyed it.
Water, its one of the things we take for granted.

Oma, hubby kept saying today,it looks like it could snow.
Pleased MIL was in a good mood. Wonders never cease.

Lizzie, how sad for someone to die at that age.

Hubby complained about it being cold in the shed, even with the electric heater on.
A few days ago,he ordered a diesel heater and it arrived today.
Got a good idea what he will be doing over the weekend.

        Another very cold morning.
Nephew said it was snowing here last night, but we didn't see it.

Hope J and B are recovering.

Hubby out for a couple of hours this morning,so bathroom and bedroom cleaning for me.
Sun is forecast,so should be able to get bedding and towels out for a bit.

Good Friday morning, everyone. No snow here, but everywhere is sparkling with a heavy frost.

I'm sorry I didn't get back on here to read all your posts yesterday, and today isn't much better. We're going to a Christmas lunch put on by OH's Pensioners' Club in Bournemouth. We're dropping Eva off at DS2's first as it will be too long to leave her on her own. The straightforward route to the hotel is a minefield of road closures and diversions - DIL2's dad took an hour to travel one mile yesterday, so we're going early and can hopefully relax at the hotel with a coffee before lunch. We'll pick Eva up again on the way home, and OH has to be out again by 5 pm. I think I'll just want my bed!!

I hope everyone is ok. Stay safe and keep warm. xx

            Morning ladies
my it’s cold the snow that has turned to slush has frozen and it sounds like fireworks when cars and vans are driving over it ,
It is very white out .
B rang GS to tell him to drive slowly as it’s his first time driving in snow .

            Nanto
you will be able to get lots done while hubby is out , it’s much easier when your on your own for some reason , no distractions.

            Daisy
Have a lovely day how’s Js eye today ?

            Gem
Did you have a nice night out xx

We off to IKEA this morning then have to go get some bits ,
GS is bringing his girlfriend for tea , she only eats chicken so they have asked for chicken nuggets and chips ,
I have all kinds of chicken products in but no nuggets 🙄
They like cake so I will buy something for pudding for them .

DD had Storm to Vets last night for check up his samples came back clear they just waiting for blood results but he seems fine now thank goodness.

Thinking of Glamm today on anniversary of her OH passing xxx

Have a good day ladies xx

              Good morning everyone.

Very frosty here too. I'm glad I don't have to drive until later, when I hope the sun will have melted it!

Doing the housework will keep you warm Nan2!

              Enjoy your lunch Daisy.

Oma, we only went to drop presents and have quick coffee with our friends last night, but yes we had a nice time From there we had to come home and then out again to DD1's. She had texted me to ask if we could drop off her spare key. SIL had the car for his moving day and her house key was in there Anyway we did that too.

Today is double school pick up, then the GC here for the weekend. Well GS2 here until Sunday afternoon but GD will be going to her friends tonight and for most of tomorrow. I think I will get her back at some point tomorrow The friend lives nearer me than them so they don't see a lot of each other in term time so it will be lovely for them.

              Happy Friday everyone.

A visit to the practice nurse at 11am for a blood test, I have to have a blood test before my Prolia injection for my bones in a fortnights time. Apart from that I am not sure. We have had a very hard frost and no sunshine.

Oma, pleased Mil was in a good mood, I should think so with all that lovely food being delivered. I think it is lovely that your GS1 wants to bring his girl friend to yours for a meal.
Pleased to hear Storm is recovered from that bug. I hope B is feeling better too.

Busy day for you Daisy, I hope the roads are not too bad for your trip. I hope the eye is feeling better today.

Gemini, a busy weekend for you with the GC overnight, your GD is growing up fast. Sounds like your mum had a lovely time in the pub.

Brrr, very cold and frosty here today. Glad I don’t have to go out anywhere. Had a nice day yesterday, friends here for coffee in the morning then over to DD’s in the afternoon for pre Christmas prosecco and nibbles. She invited her neighbours either side who I knew so we had a lovely time, lots of laughs anc chat.

I am sorting our Christmas lights today, it putting any up outside as I can’t reach, that was always P’s job. But I have strings of battery operating ones that I use indoors. Otherwise a relaxing day. Keep warm everyone 😀

Hope your bloods are ok and your jabs go ahead as planned,
Is it far to the surgery ?
Main roads are fine but I bet your lane is a bit frosty.

Isnt it nice to have a laugh and a chat and ibet the Prosecco went down well 😁

Been to IKEA for what I needed plus a few bits we didn’t know we needed till we seen them 😁
The traffic is awful everywhere especially the A1 towards IKEA and the Metro centre , extensive road works widening ,
We tried to take all the short cuts around the back roads but everyone had the same idea.

I was thinking this morning has anyone heard how Clover is ?I do hope she’s ok with this awful Chemo and not in Hospital again ,
She hasn’t looked in since 21 November .

                      Busy weekend for you Gem.

Very busy on the roads today and the bright sun in my eyes made driving very difficult.
I managed all my trips safely anyway. DD and SIL2 are in London. We had to go to their house after school to collect the children's things and GD feed the guinea pigs.

GD, her friend and friend's mum have gone bowling. We and GS are in for the night 😊

Oma, My surgery is within walking distance, I stopped to feed the ducks on the way back. the pond was mainly frozen, the ducks were skating on it. there are so many ducks this year looking for food. I must go and fetch some more from the local shop. A notice has been published advising to give them bread too (usually discouraged) as they are very hungry. GD1 and her OH (H’s parents) are not well so she has been here today. Your GS and his GF were well fed.

Gemini, that low sunshine is making it difficult to drive.

WG, I drove past your snowman post box, he looks very cosy.

We do all seem to be rather busy at the moment.

Nanto, I hope the diesel heater is more economical to run than your OH's electric heater in his shed. Did you get your bedding and towels dry outside today?

Gem, not just a busy day for you, but a busy week-end, but how lovely to be able to spend the time with GD and GS2. Gd is certainly getting very grown up and I' bet she and her friend have a great time chatting and giggling together. It must be a relief that SIL1 has moved his things to his new flat. You must have been very surprised to find you mum had gone to the pub. I hope she enjoyed herself and none of them got too tiddly.

Plant, fingers crossed that your blood test results are good. Will you have to go to the hospital for the Prolia treatment?

Oma, I'm s surprised that you found things that weren't on your shopping list at Ikea!!! It sounds as though your roads are like ours at the moment. It's enough to put you off going somewhere (except Ikea, of course. ). I think we all worried about our own children when they were new drivers, and it's not any easier with our grand children, is it. I hope your GS1 was ok on the roads today. Our GS1 has only done one longish journey so far - to Birmingham in the summer - but we're trying to arrange for him to drive down to us (about 75 miles, nearly all motorway) but bringing his mum or dad with him. GS2 takes his test early next year, so that will be another one to be anxious about.

Enfys, it certainly was a cold day today. It makes me want to hibernate! It sounds as though you have a great sociable day with two lovely get togethers. I agree, putting up lists outside isn't easy, but I'm sure your indoor ones look fine.

We avoided the traffic chaos today, thank goodness, but it was a long way round. Bournemouth itself didn't seem too busy. Gem, the low sun can be very dazzling, can't it. OH was dazzled through his rear view mirror on the way home this afternoon which is nearly as bad!

Thanks for asking, ladies, OH's eye is much better, although when I put gel in it this morning I could still see redness at the injection site. At least it isn't so painful this time.

We enjoyed our lunch, although for once I was wishing I'd had the turkey rather than my underwhelming veggie Wellington. It was good to see some old friends, including the one who was giving "The Speech" who OH had worked with when they were both on secondment from the bank a long time ago. We had to leave before mince pies arrived, which was just as well after such a huge meal. We collected Eva from DS2's - she had a lot of fun and a big cuddle from GD1 who is off school with a horrible cold. OH just had time for a quick cup of tea before getting changed and going out for his second turkey dinner of the day! It will be bread and water for him tomorrow or he'll be bursting out of his clothes!!

Clover, if you are reading this, we are all thinking about you, and sending love. xx

Daisy, i didn't put the washing out, they would have ended up like cardboard. It was so cold here today.
Apparently the diesel heaters are a lot more economical and warmer.
Glad you had a time when out for lunch.
