Oma, I don't mind a trip into town, it is easy on the underground, if it is running that is. The shop is in the centre as well. M does a lot for me so I can do this for her.

From there we had to come home and then out again to DD1's. She had texted me to ask if we could drop off her spare key. SIL had the car for his moving day and her house key was in there
It sounds as though your roads are like ours at the moment. It's enough to put you off going somewhere (except Ikea, of course.
). I think we all worried about our own children when they were new drivers, and it's not any easier with our grand children, is it. I hope your GS1 was ok on the roads today. Our GS1 has only done one longish journey so far - to Birmingham in the summer - but we're trying to arrange for him to drive down to us (about 75 miles, nearly all motorway) but bringing his mum or dad with him. GS2 takes his test early next year, so that will be another one to be anxious about.
