Hello everyone. I've had internet problems today - everything was so slow it was unusable. So I've read everyone's post, but can't really do sensible replies tonight. It's been yet another busy day today. I finished writing the cards this morning and OH went and posted them. Then I made an early lunch so Eva and I could go on a group dog walk at 1 pm. It was on one of the other camp sites, about half an hour away, and boy, was it cold! There were about 12 dogs on the walk and Eva behaved beautifully. She walked nicely with a couple of the dogs she knows well and totally ignored one dog she hadn't met before who is being introduced to group activities very slowly. I told OH what time I'd be home and rather hoped the wood burner would be lit and I'd be greeted with a nice hot cup of tea! Sadly, I was disappointed because OH was doing his emails.
We're going up to DS1's and DIL's to morrow, so another busy day. I will try and catch up with everyone properly as and when..Was it this week WG was going to Winchester for a few days? I hope she's enjoyed it.
I do hope Clover is ok."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Very cold again got a bit of snow.
Sliced potatoes, sliced onions and corned beef in slow cooker.Thats todays dinner taken care of.
Not a fancy meal but its tasty. Ideal for the winter days.
Will be enough for at least 3 meals to freeze.
No plans for today, other than to keep warm.
Daisy,enjoy your day.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Morning Nanto
Snow again it’s very white and extremely cold ,
We are meeting our friends SILs parents for coffee this morning at our local garden centre , Thats if they can get here ,
They live 25 minutes away , I think the main roads will have been cleared but not the minor roads .
Last night a neighbour 4 doors down text me about 7 to say they were in London till Monday and she had just gotten a text from Courier to say they had left two parcels on her door step and could I go down and get them .
What a stupid thing to do , if they couldn’t get a answer either ask a neighbour to take them in or return them to the depot ,
Bad enough during the day but to leave them on a night ,
For one thing with all the snow they would have been damaged as one was a cardboard box and not only that sitting outside a dark house lets people know there is no one home , ideal for burglars.
She has put a complaint in but as B said they take no notice .
I need to Dye my hair today , I was going to do it yesterday but had Dog then GS came again and by time he went home I couldn’t be bothered .
Have a good day ladies and if your going out and it’s icy please be careful xxIm not fat just 6ft too small

Good Sunday morning, everyone.
Nanto, thank you. I think we all need winter hugs today - it's cold, cold, cold! Your dinner sounds perfect for this weather.
I'm just portioning up dog food, then time for a shower and off to DS1's. DIL is cooking roast pork with all the trimmings!
We're finally getting a bit closer to getting a decent broadband connection - Open Reach are saying get the high speed package you want from your provider and then let them know. DS2 is going to help us with choosing a suitable deal. It's nearly 8 years since we started this campaign to get useable broadband to our part of the village.

Oma, our posts crossed.
It was lucky you were able to go and get the parcels for your neighbour. I've been keeping an eye on a friend's house while they've been away for a month. One day last week there was a large case of wine in the porch - it's enclosed but unlocked. It was too heavy for me to lift into the house so I managed to get it into the darkest corner and put the umbrella stand in front of it. I think her DD and her partner went round and put it in the house a few days later. It wasn't the best time to have something like that delivered!

Good morning everyone.
That's a nice cold weather meal Nan2!
We all seem so busy Daisy. I hope you have a nice day today.
GS and I are up. Who knows when GD will be up?!
If trains from London are running to time the children will probably be picked up around 3. SIL has been poorly most of the time they were away, missing the party which was the reason for going 🙁
We are going out for a Christmas meal with a group of friends tonight. The meal booked for 7pm, meeting from 6 in the pub nearby. Both are in the village. It's a Cantonese restaurant. Very nice but I would have preferred to be going for a traditional Christmas dinner!

Oma, apart from Royal Mail I find most couriers just knock, take a photo and dump the parcel, any time any weather conditions!
Daisy, let's hope decent broadband reaches you sooner rather than later. Such a long wait!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning all, woke up to see we've had a light dusting of snow. Let's hope that's all we have.
Oma, you've done your good deed for the day.
Enjoy your trip to the garden centre
Nan2, lunch sounds delicious. We are having pork chop with veg. I plan to use the last of the cauliflower and cabbage.
Daisy we used to have high speed broadband at our previous address and it was extremely fast but moving here fastnet wasn't available initially so we are putting up with slower speeds.
Back in the summer fastnet came to this area and now it's available and BT keep sending me emails to upgrade...at a price! We are hanging on to see if they will offer us a better deal, if not , in March our contract ends so I will contact them to say we are thinking of leaving unless we can get something to my advantage. It's worth a try I suppose
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good Sunday Morning ladies I hope everyone is warm and cosy, the snow has stopped here but lots of ice and slush on the ground there is no way I am venturing outdoors at all to-day.
I am doing a Roast Chicken for lunch to-day for Jim and I,Oliver is just now guarding the oven just in case it pops out for him to test.
Yesterday on the Road at the bottom where I live all the shops where having a Christmas Fare sale and wouldn't you know it snowed combined with hailstones and ruined a lot of the displays it was so disappointing for the shop owners after all their hard effort I couldn't go down as I live on a rather steep incline .
I must be going and do a wee bit of housework and then start wrapping some gifts there are not too many to do thank goodness but I feel DS1 will ask me to help him wrap his gifts for my DGD as he doesn't have a lot of spare time with all the Christmas deliveries at work .
Keep safe and warm lovely ladies

Good morning. We have snow! I’ve never known snow so early in winter before. Everywhere is very whit. Ut it rained earlier so I don’t think it will last. It’s freezing cold though.
Havent been up to much, wrote some cards yesterday and posted the very few I send by mail. I’ve cut down drastically on the cards I send and I know lots of people that are doing the same, especially with the cost of stamps. I have wrapped the few presents I have. The animals of course and we are doing the family Secret Santa again. It has worked out very well in the last few years and makes life so much easier. I drew GS’ girlfriends name out of the hat and I have made her a crochet blanket and bought a few other things. She is very knitworthy, always loves anything like that so I’m sure she will like it.
A cosy day indoors for me today, have a good day everyone and keep warm. X"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Sorry I am late checking in. My family have a tummy bug, I am keeping clear. GS1 and 2 and their wives were watching the football with DD and Sil and they were taken poorly with a sickness bug which they had caught from H and her parents. GS2 has just been in to tell me to keep clear of next door. He and his wife are returning to London in the hope they haven’t caught it.
Enfys, the snow didn’t reach us but we have had a very heavy frost. That sounds a lovely present for your GS’s girlfriend Enfys. I think you are wise staying put today.
Glamm, very wise not to attempt that hill. Chicken dinner sounds good. wishful thinking on Oliver’s part but I am sure he might get some.
Oma, well done for rescuing your neighbours parcels. The couriers usually keep you well informed of the journey of the parcels. I hope Storm is gradually getting his appetite back
Gemini, Cantonese food sounds interesting, hope you enjoy it. Teenagers need their sleep don’t they.

Daisy, roast pork with all the trimmings sounds good. We have quite good internet connection but Open Reach are still trying to decide how they are going to connect us as they have to bring it up the track to our houses and then across the drive. that has to be decided, I am leaving it to Sil to sort out out. these decisions have been going on for over a year. Sil cancelled everything at one time as he was fed up with Open Reach. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Well that is all the decorations up, mine are very minimal. I don’t feel very Christmassy yet but I had a free afternoon. I must shop tomorrow, my fridge is looking a bit bare so I am reduced to an omelette today for dinner. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
