No real plans today, see how it pans out, it is very sunny so something outside would be nice. GD and H gone to spend the night at her OH’s family home as it is very close to the hospital. Posted a picture of GS3 in GSupport, he is moving into a lovely flat with 3 friends today, I will miss him although I think he will be popping back from time to time, he gives the best hugs.

WG, That Indian Restaurant near you has a good reputation, it has changed over the years. What about one of the allotments nearby?

Nanto, Pavers make very comfy shoes, I hope the second pair are good too.

Went to our Shopping mall this morning as I wanted a few bits from Wilko and Sainsburys,
Plus wanted to look in Bonmarche’
Went to all the shops didn’t have anything I wanted in ,
I came back after a hour with Two Scotch eggs 🙄
Not what I went for but at least I didn’t come home empty handed 😁

Hallo, Plant, your GS has such a lovely smile!!!xxx

Oma, at least you didn't go home empty handed!

I have been sorting my (mothers) china cabinet out, I have a collection of dogs, I sort them out each time and there are not many left now, only those with sentimental value.

I have glassware and that is now in another cupboard, an Art deco tea service is now in the cabinet. That is a family heirloom!

It is a lovely day, a shame to be messing about in here so I am going for a walk.

Lizzie, we are having a lovely warm, sunny day, enjoying it very much. How lovely to have some sentimental things belonging to your mother, my mother wasn’t a collector really. I used to collect owls but not now.

Thank you for your kind wishes for my GS3 some of you met him in Birmingham.

Oma, well at least you bought something. Are your shops near enough for you to walk?

It is very quiet in here today, I hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine.

              Plant
Yes we have a huge shopping centre and retail park 4 minutes walk away
Almost at the end of our street is a row of Bungalows behind them is a foot bridge over the highway ,
This Bridge takes us directly to the Retail park actually comes out at M&S food hall then another two minutes walk to the shopping centre/mall

              We are extremely lucky ,
              M&S,Sainsburys,Asda,Aldi , Iceland ,Matalan, Next,Clark’s shoes , Bonmarche,
Boots,Wilko, etc lots of big names and small independent shops too ,

The footbridge is wheelchair accessible so B can in the summer come with me without the car 😁

This gives you idea how big it is and how near , my house is just out of sight of the bridge
Although because of all the trees around we neither see or hear the traffic 😁

Your GS was very charming when we met him Plant, and obviously loves his Grandma very much!

That sounds a lovely day yesterday Daisy.

Art Deco tea service sounds lovely Lizzie.

It must be great having all the shops so close Oma.

Well I am truly stuffed now. Pork roast with all the trimmings, and TWO helpings of apple crumble and ice cream

Plant, my mother wasn't a collector, I just have a few things of hers, the tea service belonged to my fathers family, his brother I seem to remember. It is very nice though. I collected dogs at one time, I don't think my children or grandchildren will be waiting for the collection of dogs!

Lizzie, that is beautiful. What make is it? Coming from the Potteries, I can't pick up a plate without looking at the backstamp, so I'm always curious. I must take a photo of my mother's tea set. It was her wedding present from the company when she got married in about 1937. It's similar to yours - Art Deco, very similar shape with 'bluebell' type flowers in yellow and green.

Plant, owls are lovely! I had a collection of Wades Whimsies. I hope you've managed to get out and enjoy the sunshine today.

Oma, you are really spoiled for shops right on your doorstep. It's a bonus them being screened by the trees.

Gem, I'm glad you enjoyed your pork dinner, and two helpings of apple crumble and ice cream.

We have enough leftovers for dinner tonight, including apple pie, although I think OH would like custard rather than Elmlea or ice cream, which was all I managed to produce yesterday.

Eva enjoyed her run round in the paddock, and our friends who own it came over for a chat. The promised rain didn't start until about 3.30 and, busy chatting with a friend who had called round, I didn't notice the rain start. Hey ho, the bedding ended up in the tumble dryer.

Daisy, it is Heathcote china, probably from the 30's as well, the cups etc are all square.

                                Gem lunch sounds lovely ,
I love anything with apple in 😁

Daisy we are so lucky .
The mini forests are a pain this time of year when they are dropping leaves but they do serve a purpose.
Im with J I like custard, nice thick custard ,
Having leftovers saves on cooking tonight ,
Did Eva enjoy her run in the paddock x

Lizzie that kind of china is very popular with Tea rooms at the moment, they seem to be going back to china rather than mugs ,
I must admit I prefer a mug only because my shakes don’t allow me to hold a china cup .

Clover how are you feeling today ?

B made a Sauerkraut dish for tea it was lovely ,
We can only get the proper sausage that goes with it from the German Deli in London , it’s a bit pricey with postage but worth it and we buy enough to go in freezer for a good 6 month .
