I was very good when out shopping. The only thing i bought for the freezer was a carton of ice cream.

Just after we got home,GD2 and her partner came. Later DS1 called on his way home from work.
They all went home about ½ an hour ago.
So today has been busy, a nice sort of busy though.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

          That's a good kind of tired Nan2

I hope you enjoyed the brunch and catch up Plant.

It certainly has been cold for gardening Daisy and damp and drizzly where we are.

The Nordic walking sounds good Lizzie.

Oma, I will save your story to enjoy tomorrow!

A fairly lazy day for me. I complied a quiz for Monday night, chatted online a bit with DDs, and went to the dry cleaners in the village to pick up a parcel. A dress from Next which I am pleased with.
We have played a couple of games of Scrabble, watched a film and some other TV. I have just updated the Sainsbury's order which is coming tomorrow. I decided I wasn't going shopping whilst OH plays golf, the shopping can come to me!

Lizzie - I know Nordic poles are supposed to give you a good 'work out', but does that mean you feel as though you've walked further? Six km sounds quite a long way, anyway. I get songs stuck in my head like that - sometimes for days at a time!

Plant - what a nice idea meeting up with your DIL for brunch, especially at a garden centre. OH thinks I will make crab apple jelly with any fruit we get, but I've never made it so I think it's a skill OH could learn instead. Or crab apple wine. I would probably just leave the fruits for the birds to eat.

Oma - you're right about the cold. I went out wrapped up in three layers, plus coat and scarf to walk Eva this afternoon and I was still freezing. I bet that work surface weighs a ton. Oh dear, it's not the weather for having doors and windows open to let out the smell of the oil. I love the continuation of your story challenge.

Our neighbours had to replace part of their new work top and OH is making a segmented bowl out of the old part for them. It's the first time he's done segmenting and it looks beautiful.

Nanto - was it a special flavour ice cream? How lovely having such welcome unexpected visitors.

Gem - it's good to have a lazy day sometimes. I'm glad you're pleased with the summer dress - not long to your holidays, now. I don't blame you getting the shopping delivered. I might never step inside a supermarket ever again!!

Good morning, blowing a gale yet again!

Daisy, I like the poles and walk much better with them, they help the shoulders as well as the legs, in fact the whole body.

Nanto,, you would enjoy the company.

Gem, you do right to enjoy the relaxing day, is it a summer dress you have bought?

Oma, the top will look nice in the kitchen, what a time for a delivery.

GD1 phoned yesterday morning, she was going to the new shopping Mall? The Mall of the Netherlands it is called, near Den Haag, it used to be my favourite shopping centre in the old style, a fantastic material shop was there, I would go on the bike and get my materials, now it is all built up and modern. She wanted to know if she could leave her bike in the compound at the station with the card they use in Delft so I told her she could. She went with her friend, on the metro than got a tram, I was thinking about it and messaged to tell her I would transfer money over to her account so that they could have lunch with me paying! They were both so pleased, DS1 phoned when they got home and he thanked me for doing it! It was the first thing she told them when she got in. He was telling me what they had bought in the sales and how they had enjoyed their day out, they were going to DS2 for a meal so had a busy day. GD1 works on a Sunday now in the bakery of a supermarket, she could have worked 6 hours on a Saturday but now does 3 hours on the Sunday for double pay!

The daughter of the friend that is in the home with alzeimers phoned, did I need my car out as their trailer was parked near my garage, I told her no and I asked if I could help, I thought they were busy in the shed, I went and she was doing all the papers etc so I helped her. The friend has certainly travelled over the years, she lost her husband young and when the children were older she travelled, she saved everything from these holidays, I mean everything, down to the restaurant receipts. We sorted a lot out and I will go and help her again on Wednesday morning.

                Windy here again.

Lizzie, thay was/is kind of you to help your friends daughter.
Also lovely you paying for GD and friend to eat out.

Daisy, the ice cream i got is Carte DO'r, vanilla with Madagascan vanilla.
We also like the chocolate chip mint.
Carte DO'r have changed their packaging now. It says on the lid 85% less plastic.

                      Good morning ladies.

Nan2 and Oma, Carte D'or vanilla is my favourite ice cream and the only one we buy The reduction in plastic is a good thing.

The bowl does sound lovely Daisy. Your OH is clever.

Lizzie, your friend would be very glad of your help, and your GD of the lunch treat!

It is a fine morning here. OH will be on the golf course this afternoon and I expect it will be soggy.
A Sainsbury's delivery is coming this morning. Apart from that my day is free. There are Minutes to be typed so I think I will get those done today.
The rest of the day will be See how it goes!

DD2 has just told animal obsessed GS2 about animal Kingdom at Disney. He is beside himself

Lizzie this is the dress. Yes, a summer one for Florida. As I am short it is longer than this on me, which is what I wanted. It's very comfortable, loose and a cool fabric.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's wet and windy here. That probably means I've got limited excuses not to get busy with the sucky up thing and the yellow fluffy thing!

Oma - yes, of course I'll let B have a pic of the bowl when it's finished. OH has enjoyed making it. What oil is he using on your wooden worktops?

Lizzie - I bet your GD2 and her friend had a wonderful time. It was kind of you to give them lunch. She's getting very grown up, isn't she. Your friend's daughter has got a big task sorting out that amount of paper, and she probably can't just throw it all away in case there is anything important hidden among the restaurant receipts etc. She must have been so pleased that you helped - it's a sad task, isn't it.

Nanto - I like Carte d'or Madagascan vanilla ice cream as well - and their double chocolate. My other favourite is New Forest Raspberry Ripple - it's what I always choose when we're on the beach or walking along the cliff tops, although I think it's sold in some supermarkets.

Gem - I do like that dress. It looks perfect for the summer, and great for Florida.

Daisy, the daughter was so pleased, if I found anything I thought would be important I passed it on to her. I am a fast reader and can skim over things in no time! It is sad but we had a laugh as well, she had noted, and kept, everything she bought from getting married, pans, the size of them etc etc.

GD1 is 16 years old now and getting independent for her clothes etc. As I am her nan I do help now and again.

It is really dull and wet here, I have just sorted our mini library out in the hall, why I do it I don't know but it is done and I have books to take to the charity shop.

Gem, I do like the dress, it will be nice and cool. GS2 will be excited if he gets to see the animals.

Nanto, I don't look at ice cream as bang goes my diet! The sound of mint does tempt me though.

Lizzie, that is what GM’s are for, treating the GC. Well done for helping with the garage sorting, I am sure it is appreciated.

That worktop will be lovely when B has finished with it Oma.

Daisy, I shouldn’t worry, that crab apple tree will be a while before it produces enough crab apples to make jelly.

In the words of one of my GC “what my like?” I have now managed to hurt my ribs reaching into the back corner of a low kitchen cupboard. I was trying to reach some crumbs in the corner.

Gemini, love the dress, just right for hot days.

I very rarely eat ice cream, I like the maple syrup flavour.
