Oma - B will start liking IKEA if you do that too often! Glad you enjoyed the film, and got the pensioner's special at the chippy as well. Definitely a Red Letter Day!

Gem - glad you've arrived safely. I hope the evening meal was as nice as the hotel. What plans have you got for tomorrow?

Nanto - it's lovely to get unexpected visits like that.

It's thundering here! Poor Eva is shaking and panting again. She had a busy afternoon at training, and showed all the other dogs how to file her own nails. Before tea we called round to see my friend M to take her birthday card and present and sat and had a quick chat with her. I managed to cut the lawn as well - it's growing so fast. This morning OH and I managed to do a bit of gardening, but still plenty of weeding to do.

Another busy day tomorrow, including meeting up with ex-college friends for lunch. It's lovely to be able to do this again.

I fell asleep watching Sewing Bee last night so will have to watch again maybe today as I always record it just in case ,
I dragged myself up to bed at 9.30 and slept till gone 4 I was shattered , must have been the excitement of going out 😁

Gem hope your having a lovely relaxing break ,

Daisy poor Eva it must be so scary for her , Storm likes to watch the sky when it thunders and lightning ,
Buzz isn’t bothered but poor Tallulah hides in the back of GSs wardrobe , DD has a little cat igloo she leaves in there so she has somewhere dark and safe ,

Good morning. I was up early this morning as well Oma.
Your going to have a busy day with all that shopping.

I've cleaned the fridge this morning. Got it done before it gets too warm.
Cleaning the conservatory later. Not sure what else i will be doing.
Think hubby is planning to do something in the garden.

          Good morning everyone.

Oma - how lovely to be able to chat with GS2. You must have been tired. I hope you feel better today after a decent sleep. Your MIL must have done careful comparisons to know where to get individual food items from. I'm 2 weeks behind with Sewing Bee now - I'll have to have an evening of catching up.

It's an early start for me as well. OH has the dentist this morning, and I have an audiology appointment, then meeting 'the girls' from College for lunch. The garden's crying out for attention still, but it will have to wait! It's damp and overcast here but should get better later on.

          Chat later.

              Good morning everyone.

We had a swim in the hotel pool yesterday afternoon, then drinks and dinner also at the hotel. We had a very good relaxing time.

We have just had breakfast. It is damp and dull here at the moment!

Today we are going to Ironbridge and then to Blists Hill museum, which is similar to Beamish I think.

I was flabbergasted to take a phone call on the way over here yesterday. From the Dr's surgery inviting me to go in for a steroid injection on my knee this Saturday!! Having had no responses to my requests to even be put on the list, suddenly an appointment..Of course I said yes! Hopefully this will help and if not at least I am back in the system.
              I hope everyone is well.

What a night we had! The storm of all storms hit us, I've never seen lightning like it. Not too much thunder but the rain was very heavy. Wrapped myself in a blanket and stood and watched it all happening. It was funny to see random garden lights come on, I assume they were affected by the lightning. Mixed today, warm but quite a few clouds and I think more rain is forecast tonight. SiL is coming to mow my lawn so I hope it stays dry.

Went and watched GS's first cricket match of the season last night. It's very handy being just over the road! They won by the way! Tomorrow I'm going to his last football match of the season. They've already won their league and been promoted. DD offered him something to eat before his game yesterday, but he said no thanks, Granny has a better choice of snacks!!! DD said what I'm saving in Council Tax will be spent on feeding GS!

Painter has just been to give me quote on some work I'd like done. The lounge is a very dark grey, which is quite depressing and the landing is a bright yellow, which needs toned down. Also the outside could do with a freshen up.

I should go and tackle the few remaining boxes or I could go and sort out winter/summer clothes. Decisions, decisions!
Whatever you're up to ladies, have a good dayxx

What a storm that sounded WG! Extremely handy your GS's cricket pitch being over the road

The dismal morning turned into hot and sunny day! We went to Ironbridge. Very lovely both town and bridge, then to Blists Hill Museum which we all enjoyed. We planned another swim when we got back but now we are on our rooms I suspect we may stay there until we get ready for dinner!

WG, sounds like you had one heck of a storm.

Gem, sounds like you are having a relaxing break.

I didn't get the conservatory done this morning. I gave the outhouse a good going over.
Hopefully the conservatory will get done in the morning.

It was a dull morning, but the sun came out about 12ish, and it warmed up.
                    Sun is still out now.

GS1 turned up after college made him some tea then he was off to meet his girlfriend ,
He won’t see her for 10 days him and DD and SIL of on holiday on Saturday , probably the last family holiday as he will be wanting to go on holiday with his friends now .

WG Granny always have better food so I’m told 😂
My DS always thinks we have better stuff in our fridge and cupboards when he comes over , I don’t know why 😁

Gem you will be exhausted when you come home , two hectic holidays , glad to hear you can have your knee jab on Saturday I hope it works xx

Nanto the conservatory can get done tomorrow or another day , I bet it doesn’t need much doing xx

Gem - how wonderful that you have finally (after waiting how long?) got an appointment for the steroid jab. I do hope it helps. The holiday sounds lovely, and good that the weather improved. What was the Museum like? I haven't been to Ironbridge since a I was a child - it was just another Shropshire town then!

WeeGranny - you had a 'better' storm than us. It was enough to upset Eva but not interesting to watch. I bet your GS loves you living so close to them, and to the cricket ground. He sounds like a good all-round sportsman and probably needs constant refuelling - like most teenage boys! I hope the decorator's quote is reasonable and he can get tarted soon - that dark grey does sound depressing, and you probably need your sunglasses on for the yellow.

Oma - GS1 might surprise you about wanting to go on holiday with his mum and dad. Do you keep goodies in your fridge and cupboards specially for him. I do that when I know any of the GCs are coming, and I keep a couple of things they all love just in case they turn up unexpectedly.

OH survived the dentists this morning without any pain - apart from his credit card! I spent money at Specsavers though, on tiny little hearing aids that fit inside my shell-likes (haha) and can be controlled by my phone! The difference is absolutely amazing between these and the NHS ones I struggled so hard with. I even found I could see better driving home because I could wear my driving glasses properly! I got home, got changed (there's a dress code at the golf club) and went to meet the girls. There were only 6 of us today, but it was great to see - and hear - everybody. It was sunny but breezy, but clear enough for a lovely view of the the Solent. Then I called in to see DIL2 at their shop. Luckily she was having a quiet spell between customers so we had a quick catch up. The photographic printer was clattering away so I tried out the software to turn the background noise off! Bliss.

OH is at wood turning club tonight, but he did quite a lot of gardening this afternoon. Hopefully we can get some more done tomorrow.

Good morning. No sun yet and it feels cool.

Hedgehogs have left their calling cards in the garden, so just cleaned it all up.

Daisy, the new hearing aids sound very posh.

We always keep sweets, chocolate and various forms of ice cream in. Not just for kids either.

Hubby out for a couple of hours this morning,so i will be able to crack on.

                              Good morning everyone.

Oma, compared to Florida this has been a very relaxing time!
I'm glad you got your new improved hearing aids Daisy. I am nagging OH to go down the private route with no success so far!

I spent a couple of hours in a lot of pain yesterday, which was self inflicted. There is an old fashioned fish and chip shop at Blists Hill. we decided to get a cone of chips each and eat those as lunch as we had had a big breakfast. Very nice and we enjoyed them. Somehow my brain had not registered the Made in beef dripping sign. Beef is one of the worst triggers for my IBS and I never eat it. Luckily we were back at the hotel before the worst kicked in so I was in and out of the loo several times. I was still in some pain and didn't feel like eating when we went to the nearby pub at 7.30 for our meal. I had salmon, and no alcohol or pud, and it was easing off by then.

We will drive home today. I'm not sure what we will do after breakfast. Our deal includes a late check out so we could have swim. We may be too full after breakfast though!
We have vet check for Henry at 5 O clock so must be home by then.

                              Have a good Friday everyone.
