Good morning all, it’s very windy outside at the moment and it’s pouring with rain yet again.

Thankyou admin for the lovely email

Glam I hope you feel better soon. There is a lot of this nasty cough and cold going around at the moment. Christmas Day everyone in the house seemed to be suffering from it apart myself and OH. We are waiting with bated breath to see if we go down with it.

Yesterday went well albeit very noisy. I would like to know how playing a few games with youngest GS’s and laying on a few things to eat can result in feeling so worn out. When they all left my self and OH were in bed by half 9 ( Now that’s a story for the wide awake club) . Eldest DS is coming to stay the night, we will see the New Year in with him so that will be nice.

Hope the storm doesn’t effect you too much, have a lovely New Year’s Eve .
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning. It was very windy and wet overnight but seems to have calmed down now.

Thank you for the lovely ecard, happy new year to you all.

We are going out this morning, to our local Stewart’s garden centre to have coffee. We just wanted to get out, seems like we been house bound recently so need to get back to our walking etc as long as DHs leg is ok.

Have a good day, and enjoy your NYE whatever you are doing. 🙂

          Good morning everyone!

Clover, that sounds a lovely day, one I would have enjoyed too. I'm sure G was happy to have you home again after your well deserved treat day
I didn't know about storm Dylan Nan2. It was windy here last night. OH brought the wreath in as it kept banging on the door!
I hope you have a nice new years eve with your son Mimi.
Oh, poor Glamma, you must really feel out of sorts. wishing you well really soon (and anyone else under the weather of course!)
Good to get out Enfys, I hope OH's leg is OK.

My cat is OK, still not right though, so I will have the vet look at her on Tuesday. Thanks for your concern everyone!
This morning we will call in on my auntie for coffee. We said we would between Christmas and New Year. She has her son and SIL here for few days over Christmas, then her birthday on 27th. Once they go back down south it must be flat for her, so we decided to pester her for a bit
Apart from that today is about preparing for tonight. Making mulled wine and preparing nibbles, moving furniture, setting the big table, smaller tables for drinks, opening up the folding doors between dining room and conservatory to make a bigger space, and generally setting the scene and making it pretty with candles etc.

Happy last day of the year, whether you celebrate or not

Good morning greetings - the last for 2017!

It's damp and dull here, but not particularly cold. It ws 13C when we took Eva for her run yesterday!

Glamm, and anyone else feeling under the weather, I hope you've had a good night's sleep and are feeling a bit better.

Gem, I'm sure your aunt will be really pleased to see you, and glad to hear you don't have to make an emergency dash to the vets.

We're going to friends tonight for a NYE dinner, and one of our friends will come back here to save her driving so I need to get her bedroom ready and whack that pile of ironing on the head. It's nice to start the New Year with a clean sheet!!!!

I've got to make a dessert for tonight as well, but I can't cook it until the last minute so I've got to get the timing right!

I shall raise a glass to you all at midnight, wishing you everything you wish for yourselves for the coming year.

Calling in briefly. Qwerty I hope the twins are on the mend. GS2 is much better now the antibiotics have kicked in. Dr said SF is actually a strep sore throat which has progressed and then causes a rash. As most sure throats are viral GPs won’t prescribe antibiotics as they would do no good but because this type is bacterial, when it strikes it can be nasty. News to me, I remember being in isolation as a child but that was before antibiotics were generally available.
Christmas was lovely but very poignant as my co-granny is now very frail and thin, but was in brave good spirits even though we all know it was her last one.
We’ve had good family get togethers not ventured out much apart from Boxing Day, which was sparkling in London, and we walked along the South Bank.
I’ve been in a lot of pain recently. A long story but now have to have a second ultrasound as the first one didn’t look at all the bits it should have done. So another long wait.
I’m back to full granny duties on Wednesday and hoping that spring isn’t too far away.
Oh, and in case I neglected to mention it GS #4 is due in February so I shall be quadrupally busy.
Happy new year to everyone x

Sum1, how lovely to see you here in Chatbox and catch up on your news. I'm so sorry that you are in such pain, and of course very sorry and sad about your co granny.
Congratulations on another expected GS, that is lovely news, I had no idea
Take care of yourself, and drop in on us whenever you can!

Sum1 - I'm glad to hear GS2 is on the mend. Your co-granny is a very courageous lady, and I'm sure you all made Christmas extra special for her.

I'm sorry to hear you are in pain - constant pain is very wearing, and you are on the go all the time with your GCs. I hope you don't have to wait too long for another ultrasound.

How lovely to have a new baby to welcome into your family. Do keep us posted - I hope mummy is keeping well.

Hope the scarlet fever suffers will be better soon.

I just popped out to our nearest shopping village to go to M&S Foodhall. quite busy, furniture shop doing well. I keep forgetting it is Sunday.

My SIL is still unwell, although feeling a bit better and had a good sleep last night I doubt if I will stay up until midnight, will probably raise a glass with family.

Thanks Qwerty, I think he is fed up not being able to feel like getting out, he walks through the woods adjoining us every morning at 7.30. Several members of his family have this virus, they were here together Christmas Day. His mother who is a pretty active 90 year old has been confined to bed, SIL's sister has moved in to look after her.

My e-cards are not opening on my iPad for some reason. I think I may be able to open them on my work laptop (personal one is in computer hospital) but I am banned from turning it on as husband says the moment I do I will start working!

We went to our nearest big town this morning as still had to get a last gift for Ben which we did but we also spent £90 on cushions for the new furniture and very nice they look too. Bought silver and grey striped small ones for the dining chairs (which still need painting) and grandpa chair and teal textured and cream/gold large. Unions for the two chairs. Bit of a beggar getting them home on the bus, they kept making bids for freedom every time a corner was turned. The “rag chair” as husband calls it has a “Mongolian Yak” cushion (another if husbands expressions) on it.

Spoken to sons on the phone, everyone is fine if tired. Eldest lost his wallet, he told us he lost it on the plane but youngest says he lost it before they got on the plane. Well there was only his driving licence and cards in there and apparently his cards are maxed so he said he wouldn’t bother reporting themselves which is silly but does explain the money transfer situation, he should have just said. Oh well they are all safe and that is all that matters.

I need to nip to the supermarket tomorrow to get the final ingredients for our feast on Tuesday night and will be cooking, baking and cleaning all day tomorrow so might not get on here much. Wanted to make the coconut tarts today that someone put a recipe on here for but realised when I got the ingredients out that I didn’t have enough jam so that will have to be done tomorrow too.

hope everyone feeling unwell soon recovers.

Cat is eating a bit more today and had just chased her sister round the room (one of favourite 'games' which her poor sister does not enjoy!) So shes feeling better I think!

Poor SIL Plant, I hope he's soon on the mend,
Oh dear Qwerty. I hope the cold and bad back are soon history! Take care xx

It was lovely to see my auntie, I'm glad we went, she was so happy to see us both. We have no idea if she suspects about our relationship (we have never told her) or just considers my OH to be my friend I live with. She is very fond of OH, whatever
