That sounds like a lovely fun family day Gemini, shame about your little shadow GS getting upset at not going with you.

Very dark and dull here, needing the lights on, nothing much planned except (sorry Gemini) putting the decorations away. the cards will stay until the 6th.

How did your family day go Zizi. I bet you were pleased to see them.

Good morning from lazy bones here! I woke about 7 o'clock, turned over and the next thing I knew it was nearly 10 am! It's wet and miserable. I really need to get out today though, so will probably make Eva brave the weather later!

Gem, I always used to leave decorations until 12th Night, but nowadays with just the 2 of us I take them down any time after New Years Day, so might do it today or tomorrow just because I have two clear days so not under pressure to do anything else. It's practicalities more than anything. It does look a bit bare, but it also encourages me to do a bit of spring cleaning - please note the important word is BIT!!! I'm not turning into a Bleach Babe just yet.

Gem and Oma - glad to hear you've had good family gatherings. I hope Gem's little GS was ok - I can see why he thought you were going with them, bless him.

Plant, your poor SIL - I hope he's better soon.

Glamm how are you, dear? I hope you're on the mend.

Good afternoon ladies , been a busy morning for me ,
First we went to Curry's as B wanted some sound bar thingy and a sonos ( is that the spelling ? ) any way its some kind of voice activated thing ,I have no idea what it is ,
Got to the shop and the order hadn't turned up , we will ring when the van arrives ,
Just walked through the front door and they rang to say it was there !!!

From there we went to Dunelm for new bedding and curtain' s plus cushions , came out of there £156 pound lighter , didn't have two small cushions I wanted so ordering them on line to collect in store .

Called in Iceland didn't buy anything, was nothing we fancied

Second load of washing in and the tumble is going , very very cold hear wet and windy too not a day to be out in that's for sure
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Plant they are coming late afternoon as daddies are back at work so expecting them around 5pm. I have done the beef casserole, the coconut tarts, the chicken thingie, not really a casserole. It is chicken with lemon juice and ham and Swiss cheese layered then a thick sauce made of breadcrumbs, Chicken bouillon, evaporated milk over the top. I have half cooked some sausages, got mozzarella sticks (little princess likes those), bread ready to go in oven, salad, cheese board and biscuits, dips, crisps etc. We also will have mashed potatoes and peas and baked beans if the children want them. Of course we also have a cake and some ice cream and sprinkles.

I shall not not be using Dunelm again after the chair fiasco before Christmas Oma. We have bought the paint for the dining chairs and also that stone spray stuff for our paper mache big vase. Hopefully husband will get that all done while he is off this week. I am back at work Thursday and have been asked to go to a meeting on the other side of London. I am doing my best to swerve it!
we bought cushions from TK Max this week, £90! Never mind they look nice.

No one knows what day it is at this time of year Plant

I had a nice relaxing bath, then watched some of Bake Off. We watched it last night night but I was tired and kept falling asleep I then had lunch and watched Dr Who (excellent) and A Christmas Carol that went wrong, which I enjoyed but didn't find as funny as the Peter Pan one last year.
I did some washing and eventually settled down to a couple of hours with the minutes. I have mostly finished it but I am hoping the treasurer ( a lovely guy who was my boss years ago!) can help me as my treasurers reports notes are a bit sketchy. I have e mailed him.

OH back from golf now, and I have put the minutes away for the day. Quiet night in tonight.

I must start it soon Plant. Since my pool closed down I haven't been to a class.

Goodness me, has it rained today! I've been drenched but it didn't matter. OH & I met DD2 & her two children at the YWP ( Yorkshire Wildlife Park). Practically all the animals were tucked away, no doubt warm, dry & cosy. GS2 loved it as there were lots of puddles to plish-plosh in.😅

We're needing to 'do something' with our house too as it's looking tired. First things first..... to do the ironingthat's been piling up since the beginning of November😱

It's poured with rain here, too, Nana. Our garden is too wet to walk on - with puddles in the lawn and half the paths under water. I didn't even take Eva out in the end, because I didn't want her to churn up the grass in our friend's paddock when she was running round. It's still very wet and windy!

But we've taken the decorations down (sorry, Gem!) and tomorrow I'm going to rearrange the living room furniture.

Oma, you've had a productive day (and expensive) day!

Gem - it sounds as though you've had quite a relaxing time - just what you need I should think.

Zizi - I hope you've had a lovely afternoon - you've certainly worked hard to produce such a fantastic spread. My mouth's watering!!!

Plant - I keep forgetting what day it is as well! Still next week everything will be back to normal.

Quite a bit of roaring noise outside, I think it is the wind

Hope your family meal was enjoyable for everyone Zizi.

                          Good morning all.
Anyone having to go out today take care as the winds are extremely strong . I haven’t had the courage yet to look outside and see if our fences are still standing.

Good morning from a wet and windy south coast.

we've had a very quiet couple of days, managed to get out for a short walk yesterday. Poor DH is utterly fed up, yesterday he had a call from the hospital to say that his biopsy last week should not have been cancelled and they want him in ASAP so it can be over and done with before the bowel op. Can’t believe it! Waiting for a call today to tell us when.

Today I plan to have a good clean up, have only touched the surfaces really since I took tree etc down and I feel the need to get busy. I will find DH some jobs to help so,that he is busy too., stops him brooding. We will both be so glad when this is all over.

Had a lovely visit from DGD. She has finished work and is getting excited for her trip to Australia next week. She and DD are going to visit DS for 3 weeks then DD comes home and GD stays on travelling around OZ, on her own! She is so excited and has made many plans about where to go. She will meet up with friends at some point then Go to Tasmania with DS and family for a week before coming home.

Enfys, what a nuisance about the biopsy being cancelled, then saying it shouldn't have been.

Your GD must be very excited.
