Afternoon ladies a very cold but sunny day here in Leeds we have snow forecast for tomorrow keeping my fingers crossed it doesn’t happen.
Enfys hope all goes well today another step nearer the op and when that’s over he needs some good recuperation that’s when you will shine and look after him I’m sure 🤗

Daisy the party sounds amazing such a happy time having family round I don’t know how you do it, all that catering. Next year if I do any catering I’m cooking a meal I did a buffet on Boxing Day and it took ages to organise, I did roast potatoes with it they were the first to go , even though I say it myself I make a mean roast potato 🥔.
Today my hot brush conked out OH says it’s goosed so looking for a bargain when I’ve been on here
Wonder if we will move house this year fear I will be having a stenalift put in here if it’s much longer 😯
Glad funeral went ok Hun sounds more of a reflection on her life which is how it should be

Well, that didn’t go as planned!

Dropped DH off at hospital, popped into the big Tesco next door and get a phone call from him...he’d left his list of medications in his coat which I’d taken back to,the car, so I hot footed it back into the Day Surgery unit where he’s still waiting, dithered about waiting around some more but the nurse said it would be ages so decided to go home. On the way home my phone starts ringing, I can see it’s DH but am in heavy traffic so can’t do anything about it. When I can finally pull in to call him back I’m about 5 mins away from home. He tells me it’s been postponed!! They weren’t happy about the time between his heart attack and today having this procedure, there was a slight risk involved which could jeopardise the bowel surgery. So I turned round to pick him up......it was annoying but at least they were being extra cautious. Just had a phone call from the hospital and they have spoken to the heart man and he agreed that was the best thing to do so he will still have the surgery on 19th as that is more important, what a day....but good practise for me driving in heavy traffic something I don’t do very often 🚗

What a day Enfys. Can't knock the hospital for being cautious.
At least the op will go ahead on the 19th.

I would take the trimmings down over the weekend,but hubby is insisting they stay for New Years Day.

I only have my twigs in big pot with cards stuck to them so they will come down this weekend. Bought some new twigs as the current ones are quite old.

Have put bolognese on cooker for later and now making list for butchers tomorrow. Going to go out early to get everything I need for the next week. I have a Sainsbury order coming on Sunday so I can add to that. I really don’t want to be going out to the shops with everyone buying for a famine again!

The menu for the family day is done and I can get a lot of things done Sunday and Monday so I am quite organised.

Oma, you are quite right, and it is all my own fault, I should never have eaten so much!!

I went back to bed this morning, just had water and antispasmodics until things eased off a bit. I had to take some shopping to my mum this afternoon, but all I felt like doing was lying on the sofa! I am much better now, and have had some tinned spaghetti for my tea!

Not a good day for you both Enfys, but thank goodness the surgery still goes ahead as planned.

Scarlett fever seems to be making a bit of a comeback.
My BIL had it earlier this year,and he was very poorly with it.

Enfys - how frustrating that P's biopsy was postponed, but better safe than sorry. Well done for coping with the traffic round the hospital - it can be horrendous, and usually is! For those who don't know, the road past the hospital goes from 4 lanes each way to one lane each way, and is a main route between Bournemouth and surrounding areas and Christchurch and all points east, so you can imagine what fun that is!

Qwerty - poor twinnies. I do hope they're better soon. For years we didn't seem to hear of scarlet fever, but like Nanto, I seem to be hearing of more cases recently.

Gem - I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

The washing machine repair man came this morning, very promptly, fitted a new pump and was gone within minutes. Oh dear! I'll have to get on with the backlog of laundry now. After lunch we took Eva for a run in the paddock, thinking she would be too tired to want to be there long! Wrong! She was full of beans and we ended up freezing cold. The car temp said 4.5C, but it felt much colder than that.

Got my tablets from the hospital okay, GD1 decided she would take me, that usually involves lunch out but we had a wait so the hospital cafe had to do. Then she took me to Waitrose to top up my vegetables.

Snow almosr gone, very icy this morning, I hope we don't get any more.

It is pouring with rain here but with all the rain they have had in Wales it’s puts some areas around here in danger of flooding. Don’t think we are forecast snow like some of you are having at the moment, nor the extreme cold temperatures. Hope you all stay safe and warm.

No online grocery shopping this week , I just need to pop for some milk from the shop later, apart from that I don’t have a lot planned for today.

No plans today. We have calendars to deliver for the Lib Dems (one of the many things I manage to volunteer myself into ) at some point but not sure I want to walk on the snow today. We may go to the firework company which we visit each year to buy our 2 outdoor fireworks for New Years Eve.
