It is 7am here in beautiful Barbados, lovely and warm, blue sky. We spent last night listening to old songs on YouTube and the neighbours came in for a couple of drinks 🍸 was really good to sit and have a chat. They are from Canada and booked to come to this resort to see the monkeys. They can keep them!

Yesterday had my nails done a striking shade of purple and today we plan to go to the Beach House private club which is a ten minute walk away. We will faff around this morning and then go there for lunch and spend the rest of the day there. They have an amazing pool and access to a very nice sandy beach.

It stopped raining about 9 am. We have had a bit of sun. Been quite mild.

Managed to get the bathroom and bedrooms cleaned.
Washed the towels and bathroom mats.

We had jacket potatoes for dinner, done in the slow cooker.

My feet are cold.

Good afternoon, ladies 😀It’s been quite dismal,here today, popped out quickly this morning then went and had coffee with DD as she had a day off today. DH has progressed to making a cup of tea and he got his own lunch today, still hasn’t attempted to go upstairs yet, but no need to really.

A friend who went in for a gallbladder operation first thing was told at lunch time that her op was cancelled to due to a confusion over beds. Most disapointing for her.
Another friend contacted me to say she was waiting for results of biopsy on a breast lump. There is always something isn't there?!

Saw a lovely house on our walk today. My mind is drifting to “what if”. No I won’t be moving to Barbados but it is a nice thought as we sit here in the warm.

I had an email from a colleague today telling me that my company is pulling out of the homelesss work programme I have been overseeing for south of England and London for ten years. Quite upset by it if I am honest. He said he knew he shouldn’t send me stuff about work but wanted to tell me himself rather than me get home and find the announcement in the “in box”. So I went into my work emails and yes, it is true. The people like myself who are on the steering group are going to have a meeting to discuss other ways of working with the homeless. This of course means more work, no extra money etc etc. I know the company is in trouble but flogging us lot to death is not going to solve the problems. Gggggrrrrrrrrr

Nice social day for us today. OH and I are going out for lunch to celebrate one of her best golf buddies 70th birthday. I think 8 or 9 of us are going.
Tonight my oldest friends, the couple who recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary, are coming round.

DD2 texted to ask if she and the children could come to our house this afternoon (of course they can!) She will phone me to explain once she has dropped them off at school and nursery. I imagine it is new boiler fitting day.

So, a busy and socible day ahead!

Just done my ironing , put two loads in early this morning and then tumble dried them .
Went in shower and when I was dressed I thought I may as well get them done before I came down stairs ,
Dog is asleep on his Blanket B has gone to supermarket for stuff to make lentil soup for tea so I'm having half hour to myself

Good morning ladies. It's bright, breezy and mild here today. Not quite Barbados standard, but much better than we usually get at this time of year.

Last night I was too tired to sleep! I don't know how that happens, but I was shattered, ached all over and my mind was going round and round, all about nothing. So I've only just got up, feeling a bit head achey, and wanting to do all sorts of things but not feeling like it! OH has one of the Last of the Summer Wine buddies coming over today, but they'll be in the shed - I'll just have to find them a crust for lunch. In fact, I like Oma's idea - I might make them soup.

Gem - have you asked your DD how to turn up/on the heating at her house? Good job you'd got a warm cardigan. Have a lovely day today - it sounds great. I hope both your friends are ok.

Nanto I hate my feet being cold. Have you got some really nice warm socks and cosy slippers?

Oma - I hope you've made the most of the peace and quiet. It never lasts long, does it!

Enfys - it's good to hear of your OH's progress. I hope he's feeling better in himself, and he doesn't get too bored with the relative inactivity. Is he still making plans and designing things?

Two more sleeps till DS2's puppy arrives - the excitement is mounting. I got Eva checked for worms and the results have come back clear - thank goodness. I don't like giving chemical wormers but didn't want to risk anything with the puppy, although she won't meet him for at least a couple of weeks.


Plant - there is always an excuse for not cleaning windows - you've been busy enough! x

I overslept this morning, had a reasonable night from 1.30 onwards. Very windy here and blowing from the woods, the sky is full of floating leaves. Drs. appt. for me this afternoon, had a blood test before they give me another injection for my bones and apparently he wants to discuss my blood results, hope all is well.

Pleased to hear your OH is progressing but you are keeping an eye on him Enfys so he doesn't do too much.

Hope Zizi is still enjoying the rest in spite of her recent message.

Must go and have a shower, will look in later.
