Gem, I've been thinking about you all day and wondering how your Mum's funeral had gone. I'm sure you are physically and emotionally drained tonight, but you've done her proud, and everything went as she would have wished. You can't do more than that, dear. Sending big hugs.
I remember your Mum being dehydrated just before she went into the nursing home, so It's understandable that she had bed sores, poor lady. Glamm, I hope Jim's clear up quickly too now he's getting treatment for them. xx
Glamm, you've certainly had a busy day, but your little GD sounds a sweetie pie, even if she is also a whirlwind. I do hope Jim will go for the respite care. It will make such a difference to him, I'm sure.
Nanto, I'm so glad you have had a lovely birthday day, and hopefully busy with good things.
We've had a busy day as well. I walked Eva round the block first thing and then we went shopping - a grand tour of garden centres as it turns out. We got vouchers for one garden centre for DS2's birthday on Sunday. He's still setting up (expanding, really) his veg plot, and a few bits and pieces for us. Then went on to another larger garden centre and got some plants to fill the gaps in our garden - we lost several new plants to the frost this winter. We also needed chipped bark, ericaceous compost, all-purpose compost, garden grit and a few other bits and pieces. OH wanted the same brand of bark that we've already used and theirs was different. So we went on to yet another garden centre - who had sold out and didn't have ericaceous compost or large bags of all-purpose compost either. So we left there with a small bag of grit! We'd stopped for a very nice lunch in the second place, so time was getting on and we needed to get back for Eva. We were just in time for Eva to get invited out for a run in the Forest with Missy, and to have a quick sandwich before OH went to the wood turning club! I'm still trying to catch up with WhatsApp messages and emails!
Fingers crossed for another fine day tomorrow to mend the side fence - not as big a job as the one we did last Saturday. I'll get some of the new plants in hopefully.
