Good morning, it is very windy at the moment, the forecast for New Years Eve is 15 degrees.

Oma, you certainly know when you have Storm! Shaking over the patio doors.

Daisy, I bet you were all surprised when OH opened the wine! It would be lovely red mess!

Gem, that is what GD2 has had, it started with a sore throat, in fact it is what I had a few weeks ago. I just received a message and she is feeling better today but isn't eating well yet, I hope she feels better tomorrow to go to Antwerp for a few days. They used to go regular, DS1 had an office there and was there at least once a week, since the first lock down all has changed.

Nanto , your DH keeps occupied with his helping the family.

I have been to pick the chain up from the jewellers, it is like new!

        What a beautiful necklace Lizzie.

Mimi, you know how to continue the festive celebrations in your house

Daisy, it would have to be red wine!!

Pouring down here, I just watched a poor old dog with its elderly owner walking slowly past all bedraggled. I hope they didn't have far to go and are drying off in the warm now.

Sneezing away here. OH will buy more tissues when she is out buying vegetables

Well my window cleaning isn’t happening.
We popped to Dunelm and I bought a lovely new table lamp , didn’t intend too but it caught my eye and I couldn’t resist.

Anyway we were walking round when the side of my left foot started to hurt ,firstly underneath then over the. Top of my foot and my ankle ,
By time we got back to the car I could hardly walk with the pain ,

Im sitting with a hot wheat bag wrapped around it but it’s really painful .
No idea what’s wrong but I won’t be standing on it today that’s for sure .

Snap, I have a sore throat and a headache, keeping away from next door, shame because GD2 and her partner are here. GD1 and 2 have taken H to s soft play place. GD2 has planned a big family gathering here tomorrow, I shall have to wear a mask.

Daisy, what a strange thing to happen with that bottle of wine.

Oma, what a strange thing to happen with that pain, do you think it is Plantar Fasciitis.

Nanto Comforting food, a jacket potato, love it filled with chilli.

I left a beautiful crisp, sunny morning to arrive back to a wet, gloomy afternoon! When's the next flight back?

DS came and had breakfast with me in the hotel before I left and we toasted his birthday which is today! We had a lovely Chinese meal last night but he's back at work today coping with the end of the year accounts etc. He seemed more relaxed about it than I've seen him, so fingers crossed there are no last minutes problems for him.

Got through Stansted amazingly quickly and only had to wait about 5 minutes before my taxi arrived. No hold ups on way back which is always a bonus.

Doing very little this evening and I can sort things out tomorrow. The electrician is coming in at some point to put a proper extension from the house to the shed. The one there at the moment shouldn't have been used because it's not strong enough. or not properly earthed or something's wrong with it anyway! As well to get it done when the garden is in turmoil anyway rather than wait til the New Year.

DD bringing my car back sometime this evening. I left it there when I was away. She's back at work today.

Hope all those colds soon clear and that painful foot goes as quickly as it came.

Daisy's exploding wine bottle reminds me of on a friend brought us which his FiL had brewed. It was in the wine rack in the kitchen and exploded shooting wine, cork etc right over to the opposite wall. The dog was not amused as she was directly in the line of fire. Smelt like a brewery/vinery in the kitchen for ages! It wasn't red which was a bonus and it didn't smell particularly palatable. Hope you get it cleaned up OK Daisy.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Lizzie, your necklace is lovely - you can enjoy wearing it now. Do you live far from Antwerp? Fifteen degrees is going to be very warm for this time of year!

Nanto, glad your OH got the job done - helped by those cups of tea, no doubt.

Mimi - I think you deserve the Kitchen-Hero Award for this Christmas - you are even busier than me!

Oma, I wonder what you could have done to your foot. It sounds very painful. Have you tried ice packs rather than heat? If it is plantar fasciitis, that's what I was recommended and it did help.

Gem, I hope you get over that cold quickly. I bet that poor old dog got lots of fuss, and good rub down and treats when he got home - he probably needed a little walk, but you do feel sorry for them. It was raining so hard I have only just taken Eva out for a walk round the block - she was dancing with excitement, I wasn't quite so enthusiastic and I've hurt my left foot as well, but not as bad as Oma's.

Plant - there are such a lot of colds about. I hope you're ok for the family get together tomorrow.

WeeGranny, a warm welcome back, even if the weather isn't welcoming. How lovely to have the chance to have a birthday breakfast with your DS before you left. I can imagine having end of year accounts to cope with over Christmas is no fun at all. I hope it all goes well for him. I'm glad your journey was straightforward. When we had electricity put into OH's wood turning shed they fed a very industrial-looking cable underground, but at least it's safe, which is the main thing. I had to smile at the exploding home brew! I'm afraid we'll have to paint over the wine stains, and I've been saying we need one of those clever corkscrews for ages - the sort where you wind the screw into the cork then there's a lever to ease it out.

I managed a very lazy day today. I did one load of washing this morning, then watched TV - two films. One was a Wallace and Gromit, which always make me laugh out loud. I love the little details and the sheer madness of them! Then I did some painting, but suddenly felt really tired, so I sat down and had a rest! I did an easy salad dinner and read for a while, before venturing out with Eva for a little walk. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow!

                        Good morning everyone

This is how myself and OH are feeling at this present time after a visit from two lively GS's

It was lovely to have so many cuddles from them but you forget how much a 6 year old and 12 year talk non stop!

DD arrived with lots of Christmas presents which included another box of biscuits but we aren't ungrateful as we have enough to keep us going for a very long time.

Oma how is your foot ? Could it be arthritis I wonder. My feet will suddenly hurt randomly and I know it's down to arthritis

Has anyone taken down their decorations yet. OH is itching to put ours away which is unusual for him and to be honest the place would feel 'tider ' if they were all put away for another year but I am trying to hang on at least until New YeaN's day .

Not a lot planned for today apart from tackling huge amount of washing that's piled up in the laundry basket. How can two people create so much dirty laundry?

                          Good morning ladies.

Mimi, i would love to take the decorations down now,but hubby is pushing to leave them until new year.
I have stopped switching the fairy lights on in the evening, but hubby puts them on.

Not sure if we are going to visit hubby's sister or not this morning.

Its an easy dinner today, french fries and fish fingers will go in the air fryer, peas in the microwave.

Good morning everyone, Daisy is not far to Antwerp, it is just over 100km, we used to go every week, either by car or motor bike, DS1 and family are going by train, it works out cheaper than parking in the centre for 3 days! The roads will be busy as well so a good idea.

I am packing my lights etc back in the box today, long enough for me. I have some pears to put in the slow cooker for myself, I like them in my yogurt, no added sugar, just herbs etc.

Mimi, like you my foot can hurt from the arthritis, since I have worn the soles I hardly have any pain, unless I walk in here with no shoes on, then I feel it.

At the moment I am feeling muscles I didn't know I had!!! So much for doing different exercises at the gym! They have told me that is will ease.

GD2 is feeling better so they can go to Antwerp.

                              Good morning everyone.

Oma and Daisy, I hope the painful feet are recovered soon!

WG, hard to come back to worse weather than you left!

Mimi, we leave our decorations until 12th night. We would leave them up for New Year anyway and then its only few more days. We are in the minority in our road. Most will disappear in the first couple of days of January.

I'm with your OH Nan2, I love the lights to brighten up the dark afternoons and evenings.

Great news that GD2 is better Lizzie.

I'm having a morning in bed! Nursing my cold. OH is playing golf so I am lying in then I will have relaxing bath before I get up. I won't be going to see my mum tomorrow as planned, and I am crossing my fingers we can still host our New Years Eve party on Saturday.

Went to MILs with her food , took ages to get up the three flights of steps to her door I was in agony .

We needed to get fresh bread so went to our local Lidl and I sat in the car while B went in .
Now sitting with my foot up and I intend having a nap after lunch .
