Good Morning ladies,
Oma in answer to your question I hope to have a picture on FB on DDs page as you know how dopey I am with loading pics on my PC,the shoes I am wearing are not the ones DD showed on her page they are another pair she bought last year very much "Dorothy" shoes all red sparkly type with small heel I'll get her to take photo for me the suit and hat arrived and I have done a try on next door neighbour said it looks good on me.

I hope everyone is having a good day and looking forward to the celebrations over the week-end with the children I have decided to have Sunday on my own DD invited me over but I decided to stay home as it means her partner would have to fetch me and bring me back home and he couldn't then have a drink with his meal and DS1 can't take me as he is on nights Sunday night and needs his sleep he is still a wee bit jet-lagged.

Off to do last bit of week-end shopping will catch up later bye for now xx

Glamm, I shall look forward to seeing photos on your DD's page. Perhaps after all the excitement a quiet day on Sunday will give you a chance to recharge your batteries. I hope DS1 gets over his jet lag soon.

Lizzie, thank goodness you are feeling better. I always think a good sleep helps to ward off odd bugs, etc.

Gem, you have been very busy, when you probably should have been resting in between gentle bouts of exercise. You must be exhausted. xx

I'm having a day in the kitchen, looking out at the sunshine, and thinking of all the gardening I could be getting on with. Never mind. I'm looking forward to our family get together on Monday, and people need feeding. I'll get as much done as I can today. I've started cooking the meat, and am just about to make an apple pie, sponge for a trifle, a summer pudding and a Victoria sponge cake. I've found a very simple recipe for chocolate nests, using Shredded Wheat, but I haven't got space in the fridge to chill them yet.

Daisy I have made those shredded wheat Easter nests when I worked at the playgroup. You need another fridge for the extras!

We did our shopping, including a cute little suit with sunhat for the baby.
Pushing the trolley helps as it takes the pressure off the problem area. It's a big branch of Sainsbury's though so I had overdone it with the walking.
OH put all the shopping away once we got home and I rested with a hot water bottle!
Taking it easy this afternoon, our friends have invited us to theirs for tea tonight.

Injured pigeon is now residing in the local Animal shelter , DD takes all injured birds there they are brilliant with them ,

We had a lovely afternoon.SIS in law and hubby came. It was warm enough to sit in the garden.

Nanto, that sounds like a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon! It's hard to stick rigidly to a list when you're shopping!

Gem, you're right, I need another fridge at the moment. I ended up making some gluten-free chocolate cupcakes, but I will do the nests tomorrow. I also made a Simnel cake and left it to cook while I took Eva for a walk. It was nice to get out for a while! I left the summer pudding until tomorrow because of lack of fridge space, but it doesn't take long to make. The kitchen looked like a bomb site when I'd finished, but OH did all the washing up while I was out with Eva. I was racking my brains for another pudding which wasn't hard to make and easy for people to help themselves to, so I made the components for a trifle - sponge, jelly and custard. Just need to add fruit and cream and assemble it tomorrow. Oh dear, more fridge space.

I hope the hot water bottle helped with the pain. xx

Daisy, sometimes OH helps by clearing up when I have created the same sort of mess you describe when cooking!


We had lovely evening with our friends. Roast chicken, dinner a glass of wine and good company. I could sit on the dining chair without discomfort too, which was good. I took my hot water bottle but didn't need it. I am stiff and in discomfort this morning but it will pass. As we will be at DD2's house I won't have too much walking or standing to do, but I would like to see the Easter egg hunt!
Before the joint 7th birthday/Easter party this afternoon we are going to collect my mum's things from the care home. They have kindly gathered them all downstairs in the smaller sitting room. For this I am grateful as going into my dad's room after he had died was incredibly sad. I am not looking forward this at all and am glad we have something nice to do afterwards.

We are having Lamb today it smells delicious, Im not a great fan but with all the trimmings and mint sauce it will be nice
I like it cold in a sandwich though.
Its one of those things like Liver, smells lovely but never tastes as nice as the smell for me.

A lazy day today nothing planned towels in the wash ,
B cleaned the shower and bathroom , He has been doing it all week bless him
I usually do it but by time I had dusted and had a shower I was really out of breath ,

Thought we might have seen the youngest two today but they are away for Easter
GS1 coming tomorrow as usual

I've got a joint of beef in the oven. It smells quite nice, but it's for cold meats tomorrow, so we'll just have to drool! More cooking and baking for me today, plus the 'pretty' bits - decorating a cake, building the trifle, laying the table etc.

Happy Easter Sunday everyone.
I am having a quiet day today I was going to lunch at DDs but have decided to stay home DS1 and I are going to enjoy a rump steak and thrice cooked chips (courtesy of M&S) for this evening before he heads off to work I do enjoy cooking for him.

I have not seen my neighbour Jim for quite a few weeks he has been staying in bed his carers are now spoon feeding him his meals which is very sad indeed I do miss cooking for him,the carers and his niece have tried to get him to go to a nearby lunch club with other single people but he is having none of it he must be so lonely as his carers only stay for 5mins when they visit to give him his medication I have tried to invite myself in to make a cup of tea etc but he won't let me over the doorstep.

Gems such a sad time clearing and collecting things which belonged to your lovely mum take care knowing you have your wonderful family around you today.

It is very quiet here today I was saying to DS1 yesterday that Easter just doesn't have the same feeling it had when we where small mum used to spend the few weeks before buying us new ribbons/socks and white clarke's sandals to go with the handmade dresses she made for us 4 sisters people don't tend to do that now I've noticed.

Everyone enjoy your families today will be back soon I'm off to do a wee bit of washing and get it on the line whilst the sun is shining.

DS1 went home just after dinner. he wanted to do a couple of jobs in the garden while it was dry.

I remember getting a new dress and shoes , I did the same for my DD but no one does that now.

The lamb was nice , didn’t have much but it was tasty ,
Lots left for Sandwiches tomorrow, put some in freezer for MIL .

DD and SIL walked over with the dog this morning, wanted them to stay for lunch but they had a roast dinner on order so they left just after 1pm

People over the road had all the family there lots of little people , they had a egg hunt in the cul de sac and one was dressed as a Easter bunny , it was hilarious seeing this 6 ft bunny hopping around with the children ,
I wish we had taken pictures but just never thought .

Daisy, you have been busy cooking, I hope it all goes well today.

I went for a meal to DS1 yesterday, DIL is a very good cook and I enjoyed the meal. They are having their garden re-designed, they showed me the plans. They have lived there for 20 years now and it is time for a change. They asked if I would have the girls for 3 nights in July, they are going to a concert, in Cardiff castle!

I am still easily tired, it could be my thyroid, I am due a blood test next month so I will see how that goes.
