Have just had another estimator from a removal company here.........he could have talked the hind legs off a donkey!!

Hope you don't spend as much time at the hospital as we did Daisy and that all goes well with OH's procedure. Yes surgeon was pleased with how the scar is healing. Said it must be something to do with the cancer drugs. Told him in no uncertain terms that it was my nursing and caring that was doing it! He had a chuckle at that!

Plant, DD thinks we will go to a hospital on the south side of Wycombe, near Marlow? She did say the name, but I've no idea where it is. We'll need to get registered with a GP and then find out what is the catchment area I suppose.

Not sure what the rest of the day may bring, am going with the flow as they say!

Sending love to Mimi and to anyone else feeling under the weather. Also good luck to Gem and the house sale. Our agent was very professional when he took the photos.....I would have bought the house from the brochure!!

Take care ladies and have a good day xx

Good Morning ladies ,I have been on the missing list for a few days its been none stop here I have had my friendly decorator in for the past 3 days and everything has been up the wall, thankfully everything is complete just have to wait for the delivery of the chandelier and wall mirror they sound rather grand but they are not really just blingy, right up my street.

The guy came to measure the kitchen floor for cushion floor this am he must have thought I was daft when he quoted me a daft price for my small kitchen it is 10 x 8 so pretty much square he said for medium quality it would cost £255 which I thought was OTT for cushion floor but I must admit I am pretty rubbish at prices of stuff.I have decided to go for a cream laminate which my decorator man will fit for me at half the price I don't have to worry about paw marks on the floor from the garden now Poppy is no longer here.

Daisy the first shoots from my potato's have come through and this morning I fed them again and put on another layer of compost so they are all looking good I have 6 x large tubs of them all staged to be ready a few weeks after each other so I will be well stocked up with potato's for a few months once they are ready.

The weather is dull and rainy here today so am having a day indoors now tiding up and doing a sort out to go to the tip next week I am emptying the shed over the week-end and have promised myself to throw anything that has no use I'll arrange for a man with a van to dispose of the stuff there is one locally who does tip clearance he is registered and other people have used him as he is so reliable and does a tidy job.

I've I now caught up with everyones news you all sound so busy xx

        Hello everyone.

Mimi - I'm sorry I wasn't able to get on here earlier to say you're in my thoughts on this sad day. Sending love and hugs. xxx

Grauntie - are you home? Sending love and hugs. xxx

OH wasn't too long at the hospital. He had a scan and an injection. The Consultant is still doing remote consultations - ie a letter! But the person operating the scanner very kindly looked back at the scan from when he was first diagnosed and he said there's definite improvement. He was more communicative and helpful than the most recent consultant has been. Goodness knows when they will get back to actually seeing patients face-to-face. I had to wait in the car - and it was freezing. Still we're home, the patient has been pampered, fed Paracetamol and peeled grapes and is resting!

Gem - enjoy your lunch. We were the same yesterday, a bit like kids let out of school early!! It's surprising how something like a furniture store can have such a great cafe. There's a privately owned department store near us which does great meals, waitress service etc. Not what you'd expect at all. Your GS1 will want GranCabs every day! But I do hope their car is fixed today. I hope the estate agents and photographer do a good job on the details of your mum's house.

Plant - I hope it stays fine for you game of bowls this afternoon. It's showery and very chilly here.

Oma - it's good to hear your MIL has recovered from her recent health scare and has yet again cancelled your arrangements!

Nanto - a day off for you if the weather is too bad for gardening. Feet up, relax. x

I'm just off to get lunch ready, then I must do the Sainsbury's order for tomorrow or else we'll end up with an empty fridge!

Sorry ladies. I didn't see the posts on the last page before I posted!

WeeGranny - No, we didn't spend as long at the hospital, thankfully. I'll be glad when I can go back in with OH instead of sitting in the car. Of course it is your nursing care that's helping your OH's scar to heal up so well. I remember when DS2 was selling his house, the estate agent had come to him for photography lessons a couple of years previously and he was a nervous wreck when he had to take the pics for DS's sale!

Glamm - are you pleased with all the decorating? It does cause upheaval everywhere, but worth it in the long run. I like a bit of bling as well, although I drew the line at chandeliers because of cleaning them. Your tatties are doing really well - you'll have a bumper crop. I've only got one bag and they are showing early shoots - I must earth them up when I get a minute. Everything has suddenly taken off and I need to get some plants out of the greenhouse and into the garden, pot on some tomatoes and I've got a tray of salad leaves ready for use. How lovely it will be to get anything you don't want out of the shed, and it's very useful to have a contact like your man with a van. You still have to make appointments at our tip!

It is time for me to post, I had to go to the hospital yesterday for an ultra sound of my groin, (nothing wrong by the way). I had looked at the forecast and it was dry, I went on the bike, it was dry on the way there, I came out of the hospital and the heavens opened!! Hail and so much heavy rain, I had to get home, I was late putting my poncho on and I was soaked. On the way home something was catching as I peddled, had a look a few times but couldn't find anything, I sat here yesterday afternoon and realised what it had been, my carrier bags were so wet and heavy they were catching on the wheel. I have been for a long ride this morning and everything is fine.

            Mimi, thinking of you.xx

Gem, I hope you both enjoy your lunch, it is the first day restaurants are open during the day here, to 8pm, I called for a coffee whilst out, I didn't like to complain but my coffee was almost cold, the next time I will order a buttermilk or something else. I hope the car is soon repaired but I expect you are enjoying doing the school run.

Daisy, you would enjoy the fish and chips. You seem to be busy in the garden, if you had the rain we had yesterday all would be washed away.

Glamm, I think it is also an age thing when we hear prices! I paid €3 for a (cold) coffee this morning and find it very expensive. No one else does, just me. My friend has had that cushion flooring all through the house, I didn't ask what it all cost but I think a pretty penny! You will be pleased with your handy man.

Oma, your mother in law seems to be her own worst enemy, always complaining.

Gosh Glamm that works out at only about 12 square meters as they mostly come in 3 metre lengths, but even so it would make it about £21.50 a metre ,
Were you going for Gold leaf coated hahaha
Bet its posh with your Bling what colour have you gone for ?

Daisy good to hear J is improving and the injections are worth the discomfort .

Lizzie good that your scans showed nothing sinister ,

Plant did you get your game of bowls , did the rain hold off ?

Its pitch black and wet here started a lovely day too .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Daisy, pleased there is some improvement for OH.

It started raining about 9ish,so the gardening will have to wait.

Hubby had a rainy day job to do. He put another double electric socket in, in the coservatory.
Its only a few months since he had put another one in. Mind you, i always say can't have too many sockets.

WG, i'm sure it was your excellent nursing that has helped OH's scar to heal.

Mimi, very sad time for you, take a hug from me.

Daisy, It must have been cold waiting for J, it has been like a winter’s day here.

No, I didn’t go to bowls, it was so cold and ther forecast was for rain, I have decided I am a fine weather outside bowler. GD 2 and her partner are going camping on Sunday’s, Brrr.

Glam, you have been a busy lady, you can sit back and feel very pleased with yourself.

WG hope the move goers smoothly for you. I will get the coffee on!

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Nanto - you're right about sockets. Whatever you've got, they're never enough! Well done to your OH being able to put them him himself. I hate my OH doing anything more complicated than changing a bulb - and then I like to check it's the right type.

Plant - I agree about the bowls. It can't be much fun when the weather's like it is at the moment. It's been like November here since lunch-time. I hope GD2 and her partner get better weather than this. Where are they going?

Lizzie - that's good news from the ultrasound, but the weather certainly had it in for you on the way home. Thank goodness it was nothing seriously wrong with your bike.

My OH often forgets that prices generally only go one way - up!

It's another early start for me tomorrow. Sainsbury's coming between 8.30 and 9.30, a man is coming to give us a quote for new bannisters and says he'll be here about 8.45, and possibly Cooper being delivered at sparrow's cough! If the weather's ok DS2 and DIL have got someone coming to paint their tiled window sills and Cooper would be barking at them the whole time! If the forecast is right though, they will have to leave it for another day.

I'm hoping I can get some washing done tomorrow - if the rain holds off long enough.

                    Sleep well, everyone. xx

Good morning, it is blowing a gale! Some spring we are having. I have my washing out but I have to keep an eye on it or it will blow away. I have been to the Lidl and may go to the library later on, I see that it is open again.

                          Good morning ladies ,

Nanto B loves Scampi and chips but can only eat them if we go out as me being allergic to shell fish we cant have them in the house ,
He has tried the fake ones made from Monk fish but said they not remotely the same

Lizzie its dull wet and cold up my end of the country so miserable.

How are we all today , what are we up too ?

B has taken the car in for its first MOT
we haven't had a car long enough for years to get to MOT stage he usually changes it by now but with the pandemic he has hung onto this car.
No doubt the boring trailing around car show rooms will begin again soon

Got Dog for a few hours later , DD taking her friend out for coffee ,
she split from her Husband of 20 years during lockdown then lost her job so she isnt in a good place at the moment ,

We have known her since she was a teenager and him since he started to go out with her , they always seemed such a good match , so sad .

Have a good day ladies i will pop back later to see how you all are .

Mimi i hope you slept last night after your sad day yesterday xxx

Good morning dear ladies. Another 'November' morning

I'm glad I didn't have the early school run today!
No washing could go out here Lizzie, its windy AND rainy! I'm glad the ultrasound result was good.
                            Mmm, homemade chips Nan2.
Good to know OH's appointment went well and you didn't spend all day in the hospital!
                            Glamma, you have been busy!
WG, I agree your nursing skills are responsible for OHs scar healing
I hope the weather improves for the campers Plant.

Sending love to you Mimi. It was two years ago almost to the day that we had to say goodbye to a beautiful 19 year old beloved puss (then her sister 6 months later) The hard part of loving them so much xxxx
                            Hoping Grauntie is recovering well.

Mum visit this afternoon, the first with two of us allowed. DD1 is going with me. I will then collect GS2 from school. GD doesn't get back from her residential trip until about 4.30 so her mum will pick her up. I will miss our usual chat on the drive home! I can hear all about it next Friday though.

                            Happy Friday everyone.

The campers are here, they have to pick up beds and chairs, my DD is lending them her car, I think they are going to Weymouth.

I have an opticians appt. at 12.30, that will be an expensive trip. Might do some ironing later.

I hope you find your mum well and happy Gemini, does she ask about her home? I hope your GD has had a lovely time, I am sure she will have lots to tell you.

How sad for your DD’s friend Oma. My car will be due for it’s first MOT in a couple of months.

                                Daisy, new banisters? Explain please.
