Snow didn't last long I'm pleased to say and it has been sunny, but bitterly cold all day.

SiL took OH out while DD and I tackled the cupboards, with a bit of help from doggo! DD is ruthless and what I would have dithered over, she took action and put it in one of the piles we'd made. She also got OH clearing out stuff he'd brought back from his Mother's and had done nothing with. Photos of people and places he didn't recognise and old birthday cards. Sadly, we have to book a slot at our tip, Gem, so no popping down there with some of the rejects. However, our Emmaus is open for donations this week, so the stuff earmarked for charity will be heading there. Feel shattered now! The boys went into Cambridge for a wander and Fitzbillie's was open, so I've got a chelsea bun to look forward to later. Very calorific!

Doggo is now with us for the next fortnight while they head off to Cornwall at the end of the week.

Hope everyone is feeling better. Have a good evening ladies x

Actually since I have got up it has been OK (touch wood) so perhaps its going to be OK until next week.
We did some more sorting out at Mum's. It's such a mammoth task I feel overwhelmed. I don't know how you and OH managed Daisy, with your cousins house. Luckily OH isn't phased in the same way. We took a lot of stuff to the council tip on the way home.
Sorry, Gem, but I do hope things settle down for you until you can get to your appointment.

I don't know whether it's harder trying to sort out someone's home when you can perhaps ask them about things, or as in my cousin's case, you just have to get on with it. It was hard, Gem. It felt very intrusive - my cousin was a very private man - and having to read personal papers was particularly difficult. We needed to work out who we had to contact etc, and also to trace two possible cousins on the other side of his family. Also things like you only find out there is no Will after you have searched every last inch of the house, asked friends and phoned round all the solicitors in the area. My OH was a huge help and obviously S is a great support for you as well.

We found a lot of the charity shops were very grateful (pre-Covid, of course) and so was the Salvation Army for certain things.

Are you able to discuss things with your mum now you can see her, or would it distress her too much?

Glamm - lunch yesterday sounds delicious and a real feast. You're very brave doing the decorating. I'm sure our granny DIY experts Oma and Lizzie will be on hand for advice if you're not sure about anything. My only nugget of advice is keep a roll of clingfilm handy to wrap up your paintbrush if you want to knock off for a while to stop it drying out.

I'm sure hairdressers are going to be very heavily booked for a long while, and I can understand them taking payment with the booking to help their cash flow and also to make sure clients turn up.

WeeGranny - well done to you and DD on getting on with the cupboards. It's not an easy job, especially when you've lived in the same house for a number of years. Is your new house a similar size? We have to book a time slot for the tip as well - I'll be glad when you can just roll up there! I'm sure doggo will give you opportunities to relax for tummy tickling and ear scratching (his, not yours! ) Apparently cuddling a pet is good for the blood pressure. I hope DD and Co have a good holiday. How is OH's head - I hope the stitches are dissolving ok.

Oma - I hope you enjoyed your cuppa at your DD's. Did you meet GS1's new girl friend?

No snow down here, and apart from a few drops of rain at lunch-time it's been quite sunny, but with a cutting northerly wind. I've covered the tender plants up a bit more securely for tonight as it will be at or near freezing.

We left it until quite late to take Eva out to the paddock, and it was really sunny, but still bitterly cold and very windy. We didn't stay too long as I'd left the casserole for dinner in the oven. It was just about ready when we got back. It's lovely being able to go out early evening in the light.

I don't seem to have done much today. Had a coffee and chat with my friend, but she was too cold to sit outside so we set by the open french windows in the dining room. At least it was out of the wind. After lunch I watched a bit of tv on catch up while OH watched The Fall of the Roman Empire (or something like that) It was such an awful typical old Holywood film, with huge crowd scenes, strident music every time armies marched or rode in and a lot of time with people just standing around looking at each other it seemed. I offered him an ice cream tub half way through - it was just like being at the pictures 50 years ago!

Tomorrow morning we've arranged another dog walk with our neighbour. Fingers crossed Eva behaves herself again.

Good morning, very cold and dark here at the moment, a shower on the way, yet again. I drove to DS2 yesterday for lunch and had hail, wind and snow on the way, the sun did get out as well. I enjoyed the lunch.

Glamm, good luck with the decorating, it is surprising what you can do when you want!

Gem, the daughters of the lady on the first floor, she died in January, the poor daughters are having such a task sorting everything out, that is why I keep sorting and cleaning out!!! I try and get it all written down etc to make it easier for them.

I was right about the shower, it is snowing!

WeeGranny, good luck with the sorting. Is your new home smaller?

I hope to get to the supermarket early but looking at the sky I will wait!

Still very cold here, but at least its dry. The sun is just coming up.

Good morning Lizzie, Nan2 and everyone else.
                Brrr, it's cold here!

Lizzie, there is so much for family to clear up when the person has been a hoarder isn't there?
Nan2, I often don't know what is for dinner until I go to the freezer.

Today is our baby's 5th birthday His second in Lockdown although this is a lot better that his 4th one!
I have GS1 today, due at 9am. OH and I, with him, will go to see the birthday boy this afternoon and stay for tea. The other grandparents (SILS parents and my ex and his OH) will go during the day for outdoor visits. As we are bubbled for childcare and can go inside, it makes sense for us to go later. I hope it is reasonably warm for an outdoor celebration. The sun is shining at least. I'm sure they will all wear warm coats!

My gum/jaw is not too bad, and there is no pain in the socket now. My cheek always aches in the morning when I have been lying on it. It is still a bit swollen, so I think I will ask to see a dentist before my scheduled appointment next week.

Have good day ladies, keep warm!

No plans for me today apart from changing the bed linen and putting the washing machine on. The end of the week is quite busy.

Glamm, well done for taking on the painting, I hate decorating, I get more paint on me than on the walls. It will be nice and fresh when finished.

Gem, have a nice day with the birthday boy.

WG, how is the sorting of the contents of the cupboards going, have you found anything interesting?

It is GS4's 20th birthday today, saw him yesterday, he is having to work today.

                      Good morning everyone.

It's bright and sunny here very the wind is very cold and lazy - goes straight through you. I took Eva round the block with our new neighbour and her doggo first thing. We were glad we had wrapped up warm, but the dogs didn't seem to mind. Eva was a bit over-excited, but eventually calmed down. No other plans - I might start a new painting as I haven't done any for a while.

                      Happy birthday to our two Birthday Grandsons today - Gem's GS2's 5th birthday and Plant's GS4's 20th!

Gem, pleased to hear you're feeling ok-ish. Enjoy seeing your birthday boy later.

Plant - it's good to have a day off! x

Oma - I'm sure B will be fine, but they have to check, don't they.

Lizzie - the weather sounds even worse there than here. Brrrr.....

Nanto - I think a nice comforting pie sounds a good idea for this chilly day.

Daisy those walks with your neighbour seem to be good for Eva's socialising skills once she calms down ,

Lizzie it sound like you have same weather as us

Glamm have you started on the painting yet ? how are you getting on ?

DD just been she wanted her Dad's sander , she is decorating her bedroom and want's to sand a small chest down to paint so rather than rub down by hand the sander will do it quicker ,

Apart from a little ironing after I did a white wash this morning its been a boring day ,
I have been on Amazon and ordered some wall art I had my eye on and I had a Amazon gift voucher from Christmas so treated myself

Just back from emergency appointment at hospital. OH's wound looking decidedly gungy and red. We were told to phone if any problems, so I did!

Had it all checked, Doctors not too concerned, but thinks we've caught it early enough to prevent a full blown infection. Home with antibiotics and more dressings and an appointment for Friday when I've got to send photos and then have a chat.

On a positive note, OH has appointment for second jab on 14th April.

Flurry of snow earlier, but sun shining and bitterly cold wind. Hoping doggo won't want to go for a long walk later!

Some interesting finds yesterday which I think SiL is going to sell for us. HiFi speakers and amplifier which I'd classify as vintage, but seem to be in demand! The new house is a bit smaller, but I don't want to fill it or the garage up with rubbish!

Pleased gum is easier today Gem.

Not sure what I shall do for the rest of the day. Clearing momentum has gone for the moment.

Have a good afternoon ladies x
