Good morning and welcome to our new Grandma Chat Space.

I was up earlier today, don't like getting up late,it seems to knock my day out of kilter.

Fine at the moment, but we've had rain during the night.

    Have a good day ladies.

Good morning Nanto, and all who come along later. What a lovely cheery graphic to greet the new day and our new Grandma Chat Box.

It's a lovely sunny day here, but the horse chestnut tree at the front of our house is looking very Autumnal.

Happy new chat space everyone (and please Like Admins post at the top!)

        I hope everyone is well.
I agree Daisy, Nan2 has given us a bright first graphic It's so dull where I am this morning it's nice to see it.
        Enjoy your sunny day Daisy.

This afternoon my mum has her partial hip replacement operation. That is on my mind of course. This was the date to start my library volunteering role. I was told there would be some training last week, but heard nothing else and still haven't. I get on well with the librarian (we are FB friends) and normally I would just turn up at 1 today despite having heard nothing. However I think I will be too distracted to do something new, thinking of mum. As I have heard nothing I will e mail to explain and ask whether I just turn up next Monday. One of my pet hates is when people don't get back to you and do't let you know what is going on!!

I hope your Monday treats you well.

          Morning ladies ,
We have heavy rain here , its quite chilly too .

Have washing in tumble dryer i will iron that later ,

Got to take my sun glasses back to specsavers , Picked them up Friday as had varifocal lenses put in ,
They had mucked my prescription up and put wrong lens in so had to be changed and while they were doing that i paid for the Varifocal lenses

I had also Paid extra for my other lenses to be extra dark think it was something like £30 , put these on on Saturday and its bog standard tint in them
Not having that after paying £30 so off i go this morning
These glasses have been nothing but trouble , next lot im going somewhere else when i need them

Hope Gems Mums op goes well xx

Oma, OH had to take her last glasses back to Boots opticians as the lenses were wrong it was soon corrected .
We changed to them because of problems with Specsavers!

I still go to an independent opticians, have been going to them for years. Never had any trouble with my glasses so far. They don't have as many frames as Specsavers to choose from but that suits an indecisive person like me.
Very dull here but not raining atm. Apart from changing the bed linen, I am not planning any housework. I need to go out and pick up some compost later, my Sil has a painful elbow so will have to get GD's partner to lift it out of the car.
We should know today what sex the expected baby is.

Gemini, I hope you will have good news of your mother later today.

                Love the cheerful graphic Nanto.

Good morning, sunny here, no plans for this morning but am having my hair cut this afternoon. My first haircut since February!

Weve always used a local independent opticians, a bit more expensive for the glasses but had no problems. However, a couple of months ago we had a letter to say they were no longer doing NHS free eyetests and were setting up a scheme where you paid £15 per month and that covered your eye test andany problems with your glasses. These seemed extortionate to us bearing in mind we didn’t pay for eye tests anyway so declined to join. My friend, who has also been going there for ages, rang to see if they could still just have an eye test and was told it would cost £95!,! They are now going to Boots. I think they will lose lots of customers, I’ll see how they get on with Boots but will be looking for a different optician.

                    Good moaning each.
Yes, I am going to moan! We were having a lovely day yesterday, a treasure hunt around beautiful Maldon. We were doing really well with the clues. I tripped on an uneven road surface, the upshot of which is a broken humerus, just below the shoulder! A two hour wait for an ambulance, then five hours in A&E.
Luckily it is a clean break so I have a ‘collar and cuff’ strap. OH is being very attentive, I’m just wondering how long I can make it last. 😆
Needless to say we did not win!
Have a good Monday ladies, yours will be better than mine, no doubt. 🙄

Oh Grauntie I am so sorry to hear about your fall, that is my trick. I hope you are not in too much pain. You will have to hold fire on that knitting.

Grauntie, that will be painful, I hope the pain soon goes.

What a lot to read this morning, I am going to the pool soon, in my car as the last time we went, in March, they had tried to steal my bike!! I won't give them the chance again.

Enfys, £95 for an eye test is a lot of money! I am going to have mine tested on Thursday, see if I need new specs.

Warm and sunny here today, it has been all over the weekend. Had a lovely lunch at DS2 yesterday out in the garden.

Oh Grauntie how horrible , so no juggling for you for quite a few weeks bet it hurt

Well took glasses back , the girl looked at them said ,OH yes i can see leave them with me ill get them sorted ,
I said this shouldnt have happened , firstly you put wrong Prescriptions in them then this and nothing was cheap , i couldnt wear my glasses from March till two weeks ago as couldnt see with them on , its been a problem from the start .

She couldnt explain why and fair enough shes only front of shop but i wont be going back to them , these are not the first glasses ive had trouble with from them , i think they have become too big and you dont get the same service ,

Next time we need Glasses we going to a independent place where they take pride in their work ,

I said to B if i hadnt gone back they would have had £30 of my money , how many people just put up with this rather than go back , its shoddy work ,
Right thats my rant for the day
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good afternoon all. GM how awful for you. It’s such a shock isn’t it? One minute you’re upright and walking along and next minute bang! I slipped on some mud yesterday whilst walking my dog on the golf course and smashed my head on a rock and banged all my back. Luckily I am just bruised and have a lump on my head! It’s my daughters birthday today and I am cooking for my girls so couple of pain killers later. Blimy I must take more water with it!! Have a good day everyone.
