Good morning, dry at the moment, but, will see what happens. My doctor has just phoned, scared me, wondered why! The results of the lab are back and the medicine I had wouldn't work on the bacteria they have found, no wonder I was so ill! I told her about the pain, that I thought I was in labour! Now I will get the right medicine, that explains me feeling so ill and tired.

Lizzie, pleased to hear you should be feeling better soon.

Sunny at the moment, not sure what the forecast is. My GS3 is coming later this morning to have a look at my new I Pad, I am gradually fining my way around it and what it can do.
Apart from that, I have no plans. Feeling tired after my jaunt out with GD1 and baby H.

Lovely to have those first cuddles Mimi, more to come I hope. I love pear crumble. I have all the ingredients to make some lemon curd, perhaps tomorrow.

Oma, I hope the carpet laying and the new furniture look amazing, Take it easy, tomorrow is another day. How is the sleeping?

Mimi - I bet those cuddles were just wonderful after so long, and hopefully you'll be able to see DD and family very soon. Once your windows are done on Friday you will have a whole new view into your garden! Fingers crossed you will be able to celebrate your wedding anniversary at your local pub, and won't have to worry about driving, or taxis or anything. I'm sure you often find yourself feeling thankful that you moved when you did. It was a big upheaval, but well worth it.

I think casseroles are better the next day, too. Pear crumble and chocolate sauce sounds fantastic. I never make crumbles as OH isn't keen on them, but I love them.

Lizzie, I'm sure your heart must have done a couple of somersaults when the doctor phoned, but it explains why you were feeling so poorly and the medicine wasn't helping. You'll soon be bouncing around like a spring lamb. xx

Plant - home made lemon curd! Delicious. I'm sure your GS3 will soon have you wizzing round on your new iPad like a pro. Apart from that, I hope you take it easy after your busy day yesterday.

Oma - I hope everything is going well with the carpet laying. It's great to have a clever SIL to do the fitting for you. Knowing you, you will have everything back in place by tea-time! xx

I've got no particular plans for today, apart from taking Cooper home at tea time. But it's nice and sunny, so perhaps I'll get some gardening done.

A late good morning from me!
I had a call from DD1 when I was making our morning tea. SIL's car had broken down on the way to school. Fortunately close to a garage, so he, GS1 and the car were there. They only have one family car, and it was too far to walk to school. I quickly dressed, brushed my teeth etc and rescued them. I parked while SIL took GS in to school, then took SIL home. It's my regular afternoon to collect him anyway, and I have offered to take him to school tomorrow.

Mimi, those cuddles would be so special Pear crumble and chocolate sauce!!! Yum!
Quiz went well Nan2, they all enjoyed it.
I bet it was so nice to have a more normal social evening Daisy. No shivering in the cold!
Aww Lizzie. The same happened to me once when I had cystitis. They found out the antibiotics I was given wouldn't work on the type of bacteria and I had to have different ones. Hopefully you will feel better quickly now.
Plant it's a good idea to take it easy after your busy day yesterday.

No real plans until I collect GS later. I will drive him home after tea as no car for them to collect him from us. It hailed when I was in the car, but its quite sunny now. OH off to golf, so I hope it stays fine.

          Have good day everyone.

New carpet all done and smelling lovely , Haven't unpacked the new furniture yet as I am waiting for them to get back to me ,
I took delivery yesterday morning , went on line after lunch and the Coffee table has been reduced by £50 and the side tables by £20

So I emailed and said as they were reduced before I had received them I think its only fair I pay the reduced price or I will return them and re order at the sale price .
They emailed back this morning for the account details I am now waiting a reply to that .

Everything else is back in its place for now ,
I didn't sleep very well again last night up twice then up and stayed up at 4.30 .

Daisy, what I thought when the doctor phoned was, I did a bowel test last week, I was waiting for the results and I thought that they had let the doctor know first. I have the results now and they were clear so I panicked for nothing!

Gem to the rescue, a good thing they have mothers and in-laws.

Oma, I hope you get the price of the furniture settled. Or return it and order again.

I just had a visit from one of the staff where I do coffee etc. They decided it would be nice to pay all the volunteers a short visit with a card and 2 bars of chocolate. The lady said they do phone to see how we all are but a personal visit is a pleasant surprise. It was.

Mimi, I have never had pear crumble but it sounds delicious. Not to mention the sauce.

                  Feeling devastated.
The appointment with the vet wasn't good news.
For a long time how we have had problems with her toilet issues and being restless at night. The vet said that there was 3 things they would normally offer , a treatment of drugs that would help her bowel movements but that would increase her urine output so that wouldn't help . A herbal treatment that increases blood flow to the brain which may help her remembering where her litter tray is but she said that's not going to help her .
Also they could do a rather invasive investigation under anaesthetic but because of her age 15 next month and discovering today she now has a heart murmur she wouldn't survive the op
The vet also said she has lost a fair amount of weight which wasn't of much as a surprise as I could tell when I pick her up that she was definitely much lighter.

The vet was very compassionate, she explained that our cat would slowly get worse and sadly there wasn't anything else they could do for her.
She said although our cat isn't in any pain she clearly isn't happy , which I have been aware of for some time, and she gently suggested that an end of life plan was something we needed to talk about. She did say that sooner rather than later was the kindest thing we could do for her now.

Back home after lots of tears we have arranged an appointment with the vet on Thursday morning for when we will say goodbye to our lovely cat
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, having had to make this very sad decision twice with elderly lady cats over the last couple of years I truly understand and feel for you.
What I can tell you in both my cases is after a while we really knew it was the right decision and that looking back it had been for a while. It's the last loving caring thing we can do for dear pets when the time is right. Sending Hugs your way xxx

Mimi - I'm so sad for you. I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved and loving pet. Sadly it sounds as though your vet is right, and as Gem says, it's the one final act of love we can give to them. Hold her close and make the next couple of days as happy as you can for her, and try to take comfort from knowing you have given her a good life and have been brave enough to take the difficult, but right, decision. Sending love, xxx

Well they agreed to reducing the tables to sale price so now they are unpacked and in place and I must say I am delighted with them ,
Just a few bits to do , the table lamp wires need concealing under the carpet and the carpet needs another hoover ,
