Nanto2, your dinners always sound so appetising! I bet your kitchen smells wonderful just now.
Gem, you’ll meet yourself coming backwards if you’re not careful!
Oma, good luck to B, he’ll be looking forward to a decent dinner tomorrow, I’ll bet.
Lizzie, that sounds treacherous. Glad to say not much snow left here, I’m going out for a walk to celebrate, even though it’s raining. 🌂
Today I am determined to conquer the knitting machine. I bought it with every good intention of whipping up a few jumpers but somehow I just can’t love it! I need a proper table so I can use it in a room with better light, I think, or maybe that’s another excuse. 😬

Grauntie, good luck with the knitting machine, I have never used one. I have been doing a lot of knitting during lockdown, I find decent yarn is very expensive. enjoy your walk.

Much milder here too, very misty. There was a massive burst water main at the end of our road, coming out like a fountain Sil said. We only had our water turned off for a short while.

Nanto, I must try your tip of leaving a casserole to rest. I love your daily menu, it gives me ideas.

Gemini, you are a busy lady today but at least it gets you out.

Oma, not a pleasant time for B, I hope they find out what the problem is.

Bedding change for me today, must get a shift on. Oh, GD and partner are hoping to hear something about the flat today.

Good morning, ladies. It's definitely a bit warmer today - the cold wind we had yesterday seems to have died down.

Oma - I hope B is ok and it all goes smoothly.

Lizzie - the black ice sounds treacherous. I think you are wise to stay indoors until it's better.

Gem - what an exciting day for you. I hope the neighbours don't think you're having a party with all those comings and goings. Pleased to hear S is ok after her injection yesterday.

Nanto - I love jacket potatoes as well. It all sounds delicious.

Avo - it must have been fantastic to see your little GSs at the week-end. I hope you've warmed up now. I'm sure they will get onto vaccinations for your age group fairly quickly - it seems to be going well. What does Bella think of the cold weather?

Grauntie - ok I'll let you off, if it's a sheer cliff face! xx You've certainly earned your toasted tea cake and your book will all that cleaning. I bet your house sparkles!

I've got a couple of loads of washing to do - towels and dog towels. Dog towels are never-ending at this time of the year! The kitchen floor needs a good clean, but we've got both GDs and Cooper tomorrow, and I've promised the girls we'll do some painting, so I think I'll leave it for today! Eva has started moulting so I need to run the sucky up thing round. I also want to find an easy recipe for gluten-free biscuits for the girls to make tomorrow. They've really enjoyed doing Zoom Bake-offs with GD1's school but its half term this week so the biscuit tin will be empty!

        Have a good day ladies.

Today's excitement goes on. The delivery man who took away our curtains brought a lamp shade we had ordered from Amazon. OH has installed it onto our lamp and very nice it is

Gem - what a Red Letter day you're having.

Grauntie - how are you getting on with your knitting machine? Perhaps having the right place to use it will make the difference - somewhere where you can leave it out ready for action, and the right kind of lighting. Good luck.

Anti slip stuff for the bedroom rugs now delivered, so I must sew that on which will take a while....then maybe I’ll address the elephant in the room! 😆

Nothing as exciting as that has happened for us today.

Grauntie I bought a knitting machine years ago when they first came out , I intended making all our knitwear but I hated it ,
It took so long to set up then it would drop loops , the noise as it swished back and forth got on my nerves so it was quickly sold on .

B back he's fine , they found some inflammation and a few Polyps that they cauterised , took a biopsy and Dr will ring with results next Friday but nothing else so may never know the cause ,

                        Good morning Nan2 and ladies.
Nan2, you certainly need your patience and sense of humour with you when helping parents and in laws, I know!
Plant, did your GD hear anything about their flat?
I'm glad B got the investigation done with Oma.
Let us know how machine knitting goes Grauntie.

No plans as such today, but I have a parcel for collect from M&S so we will probably drive over there. We still haven't chosen a paint colour to do the two bedrooms we plan to decorate. We may go to B&Q for that while we are out.

                        Have good day everyone.

                          Morning ladies
Its very mild here this morning and all the snow is gone ,
B is fine this morning no problems

Nanto I know the feeling with in laws , every time we ring MIL its another problem , its not like we can do anything about it ,
we too far away and in lockdown so I don't know what we are supposed to do ,

Now she wants new cushions and a new blind for kitchen window ,
Phoned her last night and it was well cant you go for them for me ,
No for one we not going into those sort of shops only Aldi once a week and we there at 7.30 ,
Then I cant choose for her as they will be taken back over and over again plus how do we get them to her and get the blind up , we cant get into her house.

Tried explaining to her but she only hears her own voice and wont listen ,

Had to ring about landline this morning , went to use it last night and it was dead , no idea how long as its very rare we use it , anyway there is a fault at their end they hope to be up and running by tomorrow sometime

                          hope everyone is well xx

Good Shrove Tuesday morning everyone. It's dark, dreary and raining here - perfect weather for having the GDs and Cooper!

They will be here in a minute or two and I've promised them waffles with whatever toppings they'd like for breakfast.

                            I'll hopefully be back later.

Daisy have a lovely GD and dog day

OH is cutting her fringe I always cut my own fringe due to hatred of short fringes and fear the hairdresser will cut my naturally wavy/curly hair too short. This is the first time for OH.

I cut my hair, well hacked it last week to keep it tidy, not sure what my hairdresser will say when I see her next. Had a letter from my opticians today saying I am due for an eye test. Not sure if I should go yet although they point out their safety precautions, feel I should wait until I have my second vaccine, what would you do?

Daisy have a lovely time with GD's and Cooper, they will keep you busy today.

Nanto you must have the patience of a saint. I hope the in-laws will be well and have nothing to complain about.

Oma, I don't know how I would deal with the demands of your MIL, are those sort of shops open anyway. I hope B is feeling okay today after the invasive examination. (I remember it well).

No news about the flat yesterday, I do hope it will be soon. Baby H is a star, she stares at her mother when she is holding her and smiles (well we think she does)

4 pairs of jeans turned up, I am all jeaned out. I hope to get on with my Christmas runner and my knitting today. Lovely day yesterday, had a stroll up to the corner, there were lots of walkers out it was such a lovely day, if I hadn't got the jeans to work on I would have gone into the garden and cut the clematis plants down. Very drippy day today, not at all inviting. Our road is in an awful state, there are builders renovating a house and Open Reach digging up the road to connect us to a faster broadband, they are working all over the village. I hope they re-instate the road as we pay for the upkeep.
