Oma - I do like this - a pattern rather than a colour. We don't want to change our bedroom curtains, which you might remember are black, grey and two shades of orange on a white background - so very difficult to find a coloured pattern. At present we've got white sheets and pillow cases, a grey duvet and a grey or orange throw - depending what's in the wash! I'd be interested to know how you find the quality of the Dunelm bedding. The bedding on the children's beds is Dunelm and started to look a bit limp with fading patches quite quickly. Sunshine yellow would look great, especially for summer. I'm not a lover of mustard as a colour - it always looks a bit harsh somehow.
Lizzie - I hope your car passes tomorrow. It's so easy to get dates wrong, especially these days! Garlic soup sounds amazing - do let us know what it's like.
Plant - I'm glad it's not just me who's noticed the lack of polycotton bedding! A serious omission for JL I think, because I don't think you can beat their bedding for quality. I'm sure you gave your GD excellent advice about her leggy seedlings and they'll be fine. How was the tile shopping?
Gem - what a shame the cafe had no seats for you to relax and have a coffee in the sunshine. How was GS1? Has he settled down at school again. It must have been hard, starting a new school and then having the Easter holidays and now back at school.
Nanto - you really shouldn't be washing on your special birthday, but hopefully it dried quickly and you have spent a lovely day.
After a leisurely start we went to the garden centre. OH dropped me off and went on to B&Q to get some cleaning stuff for the outside of the caravan and got his car cleaned. He cleaned both cars last week and then the road sweeper came round sweeping up all the loose gravel that's been causing stone chips after the road was top dressed. It was a dry windy day and the dust was like a blizzard and both cars needed re-washing! So his is nice and shiny again. I browsed round the garden centre, got some bird seed and a few other bits and pieces. Then OH came and met me and we got some more John Innes No 3 for transplanting. I also called into Lakeland to get a new Swiss roll tin and a brownie tin. I'd thrown mine away during lockdown because they had lost their non-stick.
We called into DS2's shop on the way home - it looks very nice and well-organised.
So much for thinking a face mask is just what I need at the moment. I started with a disposable one in case it made the crater on my cheek bleed. It didn't, but it was so abrasive and painful I swapped to a fabric one, which wasn't quite so bad. It was very warm, and that didn't help either. I was glad to get home!

Daisy I have had lots of Dunelm bedding , I do think it depends on the make ,
I only once had a duvet cover from there that faded badly , it was a lovely sea side theme navy & white , a few washes and it looked awful old and tatty ,
Plus it didn't fit the Duvet well it seemed a little on the wide side ,
Other than that they have been ok .
Curtains on the other hand to match my bedding were badly made , They look lovely up as long as you don't look to closely at the side seams that are rucked and the lining doesn't sit well
Spare room curtains are lovely heavy and hang well , they are also Dunelm but these in my bedroom are awful ,
I have just looked at JL they have some nice Curtains but we don't have a JL near I could go look at them

I have been watering for a couple of days now, everywhere is so dry. No luck with the tiles, I am going back to the first tile shops I visited. I have a WI Zoom meeting tomorrow and GGC will be here so I will have to fit it in.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning ladies.
Nan2, it's dull here and rained during the night too. It will take lot of rain to make any difference though won't it?
I think all our Dunelm bedding has been fine. I like that cover Oma.
How was the garlic soup Lizzie? Better than the one a friend made many years ago I hope! He cooked for a group of us and made us guess the flavour of the soup starter. No one could. He told us it was garlic soup and the large number of garlic bulbs in it!! No one liked it 🤢😳
This morning I am having my summer gel toe nails done. Library from 1 until 4, then Tesco delivery between 4 and 5. That's my day!
Have a good one everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning, I am halfway through cleaning my windows, they have just phoned from the garage, my car needs new brake pads etc!!!! I can't complain really as I have (up to now) not needed any repairs.
Daisy, the garlic soup was delicious, the smell from the kitchen has almost cleared, there were 3 full balls of garlic in.
It is dry here, very dry, we have a park and I was looking down yesterday and saw how dry it all is, saying that we will get rain for a month!!
Just having a coffee and will get the windows finished, it is never as much work as I think it will be, it is making the start! Doing the outside is always easier, indoors all the plants etc to move.

Oma, not everyone likes garlic, the smell has almost gone now!
It is much colder here than it was yesterday, it was warm doing the windows on one side, very cold on the other.
I am getting things ready for my hanging baskets, the most of the plants I am getting from my allotment man, he has 1,000's!

Hello everyone. By the time I post this it will be too late to say 'Good morning'!!
Lizzie - this might sound like a very silly question (and probably is!) - does the garlic soup taste very garlic-y? As in you're breathing fire on anyone who comes within 10 feet of you? I love garlic and love the flavour it adds to all sorts of dishes, but I've got a friend who is actually allergic to it. The allergy came on over a period of time, but it puts her out of action for a couple of days if she has it accidentally.
Your hanging baskets were fabulous last year. You put a lot of thought and effort into them, but they must give pleasure to everyone who sees them. I hope you don't get too big a bill from the garage!
Gem - summer is definitely on the way! What colour are you having your gels done? I hope you get plenty of visitors at the library. Most shops etc seem quite busy and I think a lot of people are glad to be doing 'normal' things again.
Nanto - I hope your GD1 and OH coming means you're still celebrating your birthday. xx
Oma - it's hard to believe your GD is 8! It doesn't seem 5 minutes since she was born. She'll love the River Island voucher.
Plant - good luck with the tile hunting. How are the WI Zoom meetings going? Will they start proper meetings again in September, or earlier?
It's a lovely sunny day here and quite a bit warmer. I took Eva out for a walk with our new neighbour first thing and it was noticeably less cold. OH is pressure washing the front drive. It's surprising how dirty it gets, and we really noticed it when he moved the caravan a few days ago. I need to do my Sainsbury's order, but I'm putting it off. I'll have to do it, but have no inspiration about what we might want to eat for the coming week!!

Daisy, it isn't very garlic-y at all, strange enough, it is thickened with parsnip. I forgot to mention the garlic is roasted in the over before use.
The man has told me what it will cost at the garage, I can't complain really, it is the first repair in years!! It is just the shock of it!!! I know cars, like other things, cost money!!!
I have cleaned all the windows and it is a very cold wind compared to yesterday.
