Oma, hope the BP is down today. B takes you to the most exciting places.

Nanto, love the graphic, I hope it shines all day. Enjoy your trip to the timber yard.

Good news about your son's treatment Daisy. Make sure Eva gets her cuddle today.

Enfys, a nice holiday to look forward to.

I am off this morning to pick up the tiles, plumber said he could start next week. This afternoon, if the weather stays fine, I am playing outdoor bowls so fingers crossed.

      Good morning ladies.
      The sun is back!

Good news about your DS Daisy.
Oh what a fun outing Nan2!
I hope the BP is not too high Oma. You have done all you can.
      Thinking of WG and hubby.

This morning we are going over to my mum's house to some more. SIL3 is coming to help us get large items into the garage, ready for collection in a few weeks time - the earliest slot we could book. SIL1 has offered to help at the weekend too, if we need it.

      Have a good day everyone.

                Good morning one and all.

Nanto and Oma, I think the 3 of us belong to a very select club - those whose OHs give us special treats, like going to the timber yard, anniversary outings to the recycling centre, and in my case, a really special birthday outing to a scrap yard for a part for my car! How the others must envy us!

Oma - I'm sorry to hear your BP is still a bit high. Hopefully you'll get a more accurate reading at home. My OH was told to always take it twice with 5 minutes apart and take the second reading as accurate. Good luck with yours. Maybe you just need a change of meds. It must be hard to give up salt completely, although I've got a friend who shovels salt into and onto her food and her BP is absolutely normal. There's no logic, is there! I do think you get used to using whatever you use though. Lizzie thought her broccoli was tasteless without salt, but I never put salt in vegetables, not even potatoes unless I'm mashing them.

Plant - a bit of a red letter day for you - you've got your tiles and back to outdoor bowls this afternoon. I'm sure you will have a great time and see some friends you probably haven't met up with for ages.

Gem - it sounds as though you're getting on well now with sorting out your mum's house. I'm sure it's still very difficult, but well done for persevering. It will be good to get some help from your SIL. Sometimes things aren't heavy but just awkward and an extra pair of hands is helpful.

Oma - Storm looks so handsome. I wonder what he thinks about smelling nice? I always think dogs like it best when they smell of fox pooh or something! LOL Your raised beds look lovely, by the way. Are you pleased with them?

I'm waiting for the new mattress to arrive for the spare single bed soon, then I can get the room sorted out again. I need to give the house a once over as well. It's DS2's birthday tomorrow and DS1 and DIL are coming down on Saturday for lunch and to see the birthday boy. So I need to get a bit more organised.

Oh Oma how handsome is your Storm he looks so chilled out,my son & his wife collect their new Husky x pup at the end of the month they lost Tyson after 13yrs he resembled your Storm very much they can't wait to get their new family member and I shall get a new furry baby grandson

Update on the painting is positive just got the bathroom door to finish and the skirtings and then will be ready for wallpapering.I have decided against changing the carpet in the bedroom to laminate and will keep the carpet is it only 2 yrs old once I have had the mirrored wardrobes put in the bedroom will look bigger and brighter.

Daisy the pepper plants have taken well I am taking them out of the shed every day and placing in the sunlight doing the same for the surfina plugs in the baskets they are going in front of the bungalow when they are stronger, the potatoes have another week before putting in the pots do you layer your potatoes starting from the bottom to the top (does that make sense) ? I'm sure john did it this way but not too sure when I think of it..My DGS5 has been and weeded all around the garden edges he did next door neighbours at the same time and turned over her soil patch at the front of her bungalow then throw a box full of wild flowers seeds to cover it,I did this once and they came up with a beautiful display of wild flowers for the summer it encouraged lots of bee's and butterflies.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies the sun is shining through today but still a wee bit chilly. x

Oh Nanto you must get that Jab , shingles are awful , I would be first in the Queue

Daisy I love salt B goes mad at how much I use but I thought cutting it right out would help it hasn't

Boarders are coming along , those plants will spread in time and fill that bottom boarder as its in the shade its hard to grow anything else , but i like it .

Have they gave you a estimated time of delivery ? I hate when its a general between 8.30 -5pm type it means your sitting waiting all day .

DD ordered some bedding from Wayfair quite expensive ( I wouldn't have paid that much) but its what she wanted ,
It arrived yesterday in a beautiful box all wrapped in lovely tissue , she was excite as it looked good quality ,
when she took it out it was rubbish . it looked washed out and dull

She's disappointed this is why I wont order online for stuff like that .

Gem how long is it taking to get rubbish collected at your end ?
My neighbour has her old sofas outside the house under her front window she has been told up too 5 weeks

Storm isnt too happy with his nice smell as I keep kissing him
It's like stop it Nana your smothering me

Nanto - how on earth will you live the with disappointment of not going to the timberyard. Don't worry though, I'm sure there will be other treats in store soon. Yes, definitely have the shingles jab. Age does have some advantages.

Glamm - how lovely to be getting a new husky-cross pup in your family. Have they chosen a name for him yet? You've done brilliantly with all that decorating - well done. How has your shoulder been? Yes, I think you're doing the right thing with your peppers and tender plants. I wish I culd grow peppers - apart from anything else, they look so pretty.

Oma - all the deliveries were for one-hour time slots. Two arrived with the same courier, and the other one came not long after Sainsburys. Apart from two pretty tops from Lands' End it's all bedding and the new mattress - new pillows and pillow protectors. What a shame about your DD's expensive bedding. Is she going to send it back? Poor Storm - smelling like a lady's boudoir and getting lots of kisses. His street cred will be in tatters with the cats.

Gem - How has the sorting out gone today?

Yes Daisy its all going back ,
To be honest the cost was eye watering but DD has a unique sort of taste so its difficult to find what she is looking for and Wayfair is a good place to find the unusual .

Glamm how lovely getting a new fur baby you must let us see photos of him
Well done with the decorating considering you have never had to do it before x

Daisy we got on well at mums. With SIL3's help we got a lot of big stuff into the garage, and he went into the loft bit beside the dormer bedrooms (you need to be slim and agile to get in there!) He took out several demijohns from my dad's wine making days, and took them away.
OH and I went to the tip on our way home and got rid of another carload of assorted stuff.
Oma, we booked the slot to have 10 bulky items taken away a week ago and the first date we could get was May 18th. They said the long wait is due to lockdown and people throwing more stuff out. The things are in mum's garage now, and will stay there until the night before when we will leave it all on mums drive, covered in case of rain. You pay when you book, so no need to be there on the day.
                            Storm looks lovely!

A lovely sunny day if not as warm as earlier in the week. We ate a late lunch in the garden after the tip trip.
