Well I managed to disgrace myself AGAIN
Got a text from Dunelm to say my bedding was ready to collect , jumped in car went down ,

While we were there we decided to maybe look at other colours for curtains etc , we found some really heavy blackout curtains in a soft pink we both liked
We decided to go for them then I hunted for two square cushions and two long cushions and a throw to match plus fitted sheet , also bought a new lamp shade for sitting room lamp as I thought the one we had on was a little small ,
All in all it was over £200 but nice and im happy with it all ,

Standing in a queue at the checkout chatting away , looked down I only had my slippers on didn't I

We were in hysterics , B said they will be saying look at these buying all sorts and she cant afford shoes ,

When we got to the till the girl said you sound happy , so I told her she said well at least you haven't got your PJ's on I have seen that in this store before

If nothing else I was comfy spending money hahahaha
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, GD1 couldn't visit yesterday. She was on a 12 hour shift.
By the time it gets to 8pm,she is ready for home.
I always tell her not to worry about us,her work comes first.

Lizzie - I'm glad it wasn't such a silly question about the garlic soup after all! Thickening it with parsnips sounds really interesting. I'll have to have a go! I quite often make parsnip soup. I bet your windows look all nice and sparkly - ours are desperate for a clean!

There's been a bit of a breeze today and it went dull for a while, but it's nice again now.

Oma - what are you like!!! I had to laugh at the check out lady's comment though, because while I was reading it I was thinking things like "I bet she's got her blouse inside out again, or got odd shoes on". I wear Crocs in the house, and I'm bound to forget to change into shoes or trainers one of these days! At least the shopping trip was successful. Does it all look nice? I wonder if Plant has had as much success with her tiles?

Nanto - your GD1 works very hard, and it's kind of you to say not to worry. What a nice thoughtful girl she is.

Our front drive looks all nice and clean again after OH's hard work today. He's now brushing sand back into the gaps between the paving blocks. A good job done.

Oma, that made me chuckle! your soup sounds interesting Lizzie, I must look that up.

Funny day weather wise here today, started off really warm, then got chilly and we had some rain before the sun came out again. Very chilly now and looks like more rain on its way.

Had a disappointing email yesterday from the company dealing with our cottage rental later in the year. It appears that, due to personal, circumstances, the owners are taking it off the rental market! We were so disappointed but DD got busy and found another lovely place So we just transferred our deposit to that one. When I looked at google earth it is actually next door but one to our original choice so still lovely views and everything we want.

I have finally taken the plunge and booked a gardener. A lady gardener, she used to work with DD a few years ago but gave it up to start her own gardening business. When DD had their back garden re done about 5 years ago she did it all And made a really good job of it. I have met her and she’s very nice so I’m looking forward to getting the garden up to scratch again. It’s been very neglected And needs some TLC.

Well done Enfys finding a gardener to help you out.

Oma, were they furry slippers you worn into Dunelm. You were so excited to get your bedding were the pink curtains for your bedroom? think B should ban you from Denelm.

Might have found suitable tiles today, would you believe there are four tile shops near to us. I had a very helpful gentleman in the second one today and I think I will pick them up tomorrow. Had a chat to the plumber, he seems quite happy. I shall have to return the shower pole and curtain to JL because I realised there was no grab handle for me to hold on to when climbing into the bath to use the overhead shower so I am going to go next door until my shower cubicle is okay to use again. Just had a fun time with GGC, they have gone home now.

Oma I set off for the library this afternoon in crocs with socks! (funny you should say that Daisy ) I realised when I got into the car so had to unlock the front door again to change them. I had put the socks on, then for some reason put my crocs back on instead of black shoes. We don't have a dress code to volunteer at the library, but I think blue gardening crocs with socks under would be unacceptable

Enfys, I'm glad your DD managed to find another cottage for you. That worked out well. And good for you hiring a gardener. Accepting what help we need it when we need it is wise

A huge bumble bee joined me in the library this afternoon. It was there for a while, luckily not at the same time as any customers. It buzzed angrily and avoided all open windows, but eventually left via the door.

I'm pleased with my sparkly toe nails I chose white with pastel glittery bits in.

Enfys - you must have been so disappointed when you read the emails about your holiday cottage, so I'm really pleased your DD has found another one so close by. Well done on getting a gardener organised. I think that's what we need as well. We more or less escaped your chilly weather and rain - it went cloudy this afternoon and looked like rain, but then it brightened up again.

Plant - I hope the tiles are just right. It's hard to tell until you see them on the wall. I bet you're tired after playing with the GGCs, but I bet they are as well.

Gem - how funny you nearly went out in your Crocs after Oma's slippers incident and me thinking about Crocs! Your gels sound very pretty. Let's hope it's soon flip flop weather so you can show them off. I'm glad the bumble bee escaped in the end.

Oma - sometimes it's best just to change your mind! I find that with colours sometimes. What you can see in your mind isn't on offer in the shops. I look forward to seeing the photos.

OH has worn himself out today. He came in, had a shower and flopped in front of the tv! Then Eva wanted a cuddle because she has hardly seen him all day.

I don't seem to have much to show for my day, but I seem to have been busy and am ready for bed.

DS1 rang this morning. He'd had a hospital appointment for blood tests etc. This is the first one since he started the clinical trial, so we were all relieved to hear the results were fine, and they can now increase the dose slightly. They don't wade in with a full dose straight away because they need to make sure the patient can tolerate it. He goes back next week to see the consultant.

I hope everyone is ok. Night, night. xx

That is good news Daisy , he must be tolerating it well , steady increase is better than hitting him with a strong dose and his body rejecting it ,

I bet J was tired after all the pressure hosing ,poor Eva a nice cuddle was needed

Guess where i'm going today. To the timberyard.
Hubby wants a new piece of fencing, and wants me to go with him.

Good morning, I hope your BP check goes well, no salt! I cooked broccoli the other day and forgot the salt, I never use much but without salt it is uneatable!

                                An exciting outing Nanto!

Sunny here but a frost, I had an early walk but my knee hurts so got in touch with the fysio.

Daisy, good news about your son, I do hope it all goes well with the trial.xx
