It has felt like Sunday all day, I still think it is Sunday

Daisy we were at the vet to collect medication which she is on now till the end of her days.... she varies from day to day. Some days I think she won’t see the next and another she runs around for a bit with a wagging tail!

Gem - yes it does feel like Sunday!

Avo - I'm glad she's still having good days. It's a bittersweet time when your much-loved pooch (or any pet) is nearing the day you have to say goodbye. Sending hugs to you and her. xx

I did baking this morning - I made a sponge cake and a Matrimonial Cake (never made one before). Both were edible, thank goodness.

I've never heard of it either. It sounds like a posh wedding cake

I hope it isn't Sunday or we've missed our takeaway Sunday lunch!
I made a carrot cake but haven't got round to icing it yet.

I found the recipe in an old cookery book of my mother's and thought I'd have a go. The recipe suggested it might be called that because it's smooth but rough textured on top - so, like a marriage, you take the rough with the smooth!!

It's incredibly easy to make - I'll put the recipe in the recipe section tomorrow.

Had a lovely surprise yesterday car pulled up and it was our Martin & Clare . They stayed in car and we stayed on drive . Had a lovely long chat and a laugh , really cheered me up ,

It's a lovely sunny morning but forecast is rain later so I'm taking my book and going to sit in garden while I have the chance .

Good morning everyone. Lovely happy graphic, Nanto - I fancy being a picnic chick in our garden on this lovely sunny day. I've heard the weather's due to change tomorrow, but we were forecast rain on one day this week (can't remember which one!) but it never happened, so who knows. I'll just make the best of today.

Oma - how lovely to see Martin and Clare - I'm sure it cheered B up as well as you. How is Clare? I hope things are improving for her. xx

Yes, hay fever here! Although the tree pollen season is nearly over. After sitting under the horse chestnut tree for a couple of hours yesterday my eyes are all red and swollen this morning. I look as though I've had a night on the tiles!

Stay safe and well, everyone. xx

Good morning lovely ladies, and a Happy Saturday to you.
Last of the nice weather for a few days so they say, so get outside if you can!

                        Great colourful graphic Nan2

Oma, those unexpected distance chats really perk you up, and you in particular need them as you cannot go out. It must have been lovely to see them.
Two friends dropped OH's birthday card off yesterday, shouted and knocked on the garden gate and came in. We had a lovely hour of distance catch up across the garden. Distance rules applied at all times, as with the garden parties which were held all over yesterday.

Today we will do the same in another friend's garden. We are going to return a wheelchair we borrowed for my mum. The real reason for going is just to see her and cheer her up. Her mum died a couple of weeks ago, and the funeral was a few days ago. Of course we couldn't go, but there is to be a service and life celebration party once things return to something like normal. She lives alone now so its hard. We will distance chat in her garden.

No other plans today. I hope everyone is well and coping with all this.

Looks like another lovely day here, no plans now I have finished the shed sorting out. The tools I was going to send to a charity have now been promised to the GC, Sil took a picture of them and they said yes please. I am trying to get them cleaned up and sharpened. GD2 wants the hand tools and GS2 wants the fork, the hand and edging shears. The spade is rusted right through, no good for anyone. No parties in our road but DD put some bunting up and we had some wine. GD1 is doing some shopping for me today when she finishes work.

Still no news from Enfys, I do hope they are okay.

Oma nice surprise for you both to see and chat to Martin and Clare.

Daisy, my DD made a carrot cake recently, she put frosting in the middle and on top.

Have good day, enjoy the sunshine.

We had breakfast outside again, just sitting with our coffee now and watching the birds.
