Nanto - thank goodness you are ok and the wind's calmed down a bit.

The weather reports around Yorkshire sound bad, as they do in South Wales as well.

It's raining steadily here, but it's not windy, so I'm thankful for small mercies. Goodness knows what the roads will be like tomorrow morning, though, with all this rain. OH said there were floods right across the road yesterday when he came back from shopping, so I might have to go to DS2's a different way tomorrow. The girls are staying for a sleepover tomorrow night, so at least I won't have to worry about getting them back home. Oma - there probably are trees down in the Forest - just because of the flooding, but don't tell J - he's got enough wood to last him three lifetimes!

Oma - I only have one of those plastic boards for Eva's food prep, and that comes up nicely with a bleach scrub every so often.

Gem - oooh, a new washing machine - you need to save up your washing to give it a good try out. Hope S enjoys the reflexology.

Storm Dennis seems to have moved on now. The sun is shining, and very little wind.

        No new washing machine tomorrow
Once we got the present one out there is a pipe at the back to washing machine and dishwasher which the machine has to sit in front of. Our new machine is much deeper and comes a long way into the kitchen. We will be on the phone to John Lewis tomorrow to tell them to ask the driver not to deliver.

Oh what a shame the washer won't fit. Will you be choosing another one.

Dennis must have just been resting this afternoon. Strong winds and heavy rain back.
Just before 6ish, it was thundering.

Gem this is the problem we have getting a oven to fit , there is a Gas pipe capped off behind the oven meaning it has to be a certain size ,
You just assume they all standard and will fit don't you , its so annoying xx

Gem, what a shame. I hope you can change it for one that fits. Oma - would it be easier to have a gas oven?

We had a similar problem when we wanted to put a new hand basin into our main bathroom. The basin that measured exactly the same as the old one didn't fit into the housing as it had an extra piece of moulding underneath it!

I think we've been lucky here with Storm Dennis - lots of rain, and no doubt local flooding, but hardly any wind, and it hasn't been cold either.

I hope everyone has stayed dry and safe and all your fences are still standing.

We think we have found one to fit after OH's extensive poring over measurements online!
I will be out all day tomorrow , so she may go into JL to discuss it all.
DDs1 and 2 and all the CG and I are going to Eureka in Halifax. I love it there so am looking forward to the day. I will drive to DD2s, then go with them in her car to Selby station (DD1 lives 5 minutes walk from there) I can catch the train from there with them all, rather than travel alone from York. I don't want to drive to Selby as driving home from DD2's rather then Selby knocks off one of those dark stretches of road for my homeward journey.
In case I don't get here to say good morning before I set off, that is where I will be

                  Sleep well everyone.

Gem, hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning. Another very windy rainy night and it’s still blowing and raining now.

I hope Clover is OK, saw on the news that South Wales have been hit hard with floods. It’s terrible in some places.

Good luck with the washing machine hunt Gem, always a minefield. Plant, hope your mouth is less painful now.

Oma, you asked how P is, he’s fine, looks very well and his hair has grown back which he’s happy about. It’s darker too so I’m greyer than him 🤨.

No plans for today. We were going out but we’ll see what the weathers like later. Have a good day everyone, stay dry and safe. ☔️

Feeling a bit happier today, had a good nights sleep and a visit from the GGC yesterday cheered me up. GGD is so placid, almost rolling over, you only have to look at her and she gives you a smile. GGS is a bundle of fun. I had bought him a big box of stickers from Hobbycraft so he was having fun making pictures in between duffing (Sil's name for it) with his Papa. I might go to play bowls later, see how I feel.

I have been a bit concerned for Clover, do hope she is okay, South Wales was badly hit by the storm

I hope Mimi is okay Gemini.

A quick 'hello' from me this morning - it's quite hectic with two excited little girls, and two excited large dogs.

Gem - I have been wondering if Mimi is ok. I do hope so. She wasn't due to go away, was she?

Gem - enjoy your lovely day with the GCs.

Plant - so pleased to hear you're getting better.

Enfys - it's still quite breezy, isn't it, but at least the sun's shining and hopefully the combination will dry up some of the floods. It wasn't too bad driving across the Forest this morning. I'm sure you'll both enjoy the fresh air if you do go out.

Nanto - glad you're all ok in your neck of the woods. You, too, Oma. I think we got off lightly too down here. I just hope Clover is ok.

Oma - your oven sounds very posh.

I've got a very hungry 6 year old asking when she's going to get fed, so I'd better head to the kitchen. Chicken, chips, peas and broccoli on the menu.
