Oma, you make me feel that I need to have a look at the edge of the ceilings. I do have a cornice brush.

Oma, we certainly were here, there and everywhere yesterday!
Plant, let your cleaner look at the ceilings for you!
Daisy, it's annoying when you cant get back to sleep.
I hope it's a bit drier in Wakefield than here Nan2
It has rained torrentially all day (as forecast) We have decided to let Mr Sainsburys bring our shopping tomorrow t0 save going out! The cats are so unimpressed, they love the garden. They are sitting in the garage looking out. They are free to come back into the house of course, but I think they feel it is a step closer to being in the garden!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

We've had no rain today, and it has been low 20s and quite pleasant. But I didn't get back from walking Eva until nearly 10 o'clock tonight and walking across an open part of the Forest I felt rain was on the way.
When the top broke off our plum tree the other day we took all the plums off - about 4 kgs, all unripe - and we've now got recipes for jam and a chutney to use them up. We were going to do that today, but after our late start and a need to do some housework, we decided to leave the plums till tomorrow. Unless something else happens, of course! After lunch I had a little nap - unusual for me, but I did have a disturbed night. I felt better afterwards.
Plant, ouch, backache seems to be very common at the moment. I do hope yours is soon better. What a co-incidence that H will be going to WG's school. I think Eva needing to go out in the night was just that she had drunk much more water than usual at DS2's, but it had been too warm for her to spend much time in their garden. Hopefully she'll be ok tonight - that's partly why I walked her so late.
Gem, poor cats. You can't explain things like the weather to them. Do they tend to follow each other round? I think it's great that they love the garden. Do they venture outside the boundary? DIL1's cat is quite adventurous and goes into the dense woodland behind their house. She has sometimes come back having clearly lost a battle with another creature.
Nanto, at least the rain didn't upset your day out too much.
Oma, has the rain cooled the temperature down for you, even though you haven't had a thunderstorm to clear the air? How has your back been today?

Good morning, It is still very humid here, 30+ yesterday, according to the forecast, rain later this afternoon.
I got bitten by a horsefly whilst out on the bike yesterday, it was sore but never thought much more of it, I woke this morning and the right side of my face is so swollen and painful, including lips etc! I took a histamine, I should have done that straight away, it is easing now but still swollen and painful.
Gem, poor you having to do the flea bombs, like Daisy I have never heard of them.
I heard that the neighbour that was in the local hospice passed away on Friday, better for her as she was suffering for a few years.
GD2 started her job at a local supermarket on Friday, she loved it, by the self scan most of the time I think she said, too old at 16 to be doing the shelves!

Morning ladies
Nanto
Have you only the two off you for dinner or will DS come along 😁
Lizzie
Nasty bite there , when I was in Sorrento many years ago I got bitten by a mosquito,
The local chemist told me to put a dab of toothpaste on every two hours to take the sting and soreness out.
I didn't believe it but gave it a go and it worked a charm.
It's Son-in-laws birthday today, so we are all out for lunch .
Yesterday afternoon I decided to do downstairs after doing upstairs on the morning ,and I wore myself out ,
I just did too much and my back and hip complained a lot during the night .
I jumped in a hot shower when I got up it's helped a little plus pain killers.
I'm a fool to myself sometimes, B said once I get a bee in my bonnet about doing things I don't stop till I'm finished and only have myself to blame, he's right 🙄
So untill we go out apart from folding the towels when they dry I'm doing nothing .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning ladies.
Lamb is my favourite Nan2.
Lizzie I react very badly to bites as do two of my DDs.
Sad about your neighbour but as you say probably a blessing at that stage.
Daisy, that nap would have done you good yesterday. I hope you slept better last night.
Poppy is always in the garden (although not always visible!) Moses likes to venture into nearby gardens as well.
Oma, you need to take it easy more!!
The cats were given the flea treatment last night. They are much happier now and no scratching. We will comb them well later to get rid of any remaining bodies.
I will make a thread about the flea bombs! They are currently active so we are confined to conservatory, kitchen or garden. We have done them this morning as rain is forecast later today.
Sainsbury's delivery due between 2 and 3.
I am making a roast pork dinner tonight.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good Sunday morning, everyone.
Nanto, what a cute graphic. I haven't had lamb for ages, but DS2 often cooks it and it always smells delicious. Can I call round?
Lizzie, it's sad to hear about your neighbour, but sounds as though she was very poorly. Poor you, that bite sounds agonising. I hope it goes down soon. Oma's toothpaste tip sounds good, but it's not something you carry with you for quick application, but at least it's always available at home. My OH get bitten a lot and I bought him some of those anti-bite leather bracelets last week. Unfortunately he's found that they don't work while they're still tucked away in the packet!! It's hard to help some people.
Oma, will you ever learn to take it easy? I'm sure you were glad to get all that work done yesterday, but you've suffered for it. It's hard to accept that we can't always do what we want/need to do and have to let some things slide. I'm nowhere near as conscientious about housework as you are, but even so I have to look the other way and tell myself it can wait. And the sky hasn't fallen in on me yet. Wish your SIL Happy Birthday for me, and enjoy your family lunch out. Is it somewhere local?
Gem, yes, thank you, I slept well last night, and so did Eva! The cats must be feeling so much better now they're not itching. I'm torn between dropping in on Nanto for roast lamb and you for roast pork. Both sound delicious. I hope your Sainsbury delivery has everything you ordered. Sometimes trudging round the supermarket is too much. I've got very lazy and nearly always have the shopping delivered.
We're going to make plum jam and plum chutney today to use up the unripe fruit. The plums on the other tree are virtually ripe now and we need to pick them when it stops raining, before the birds get to them. There's not as much fruit as the Victoria plums, but they are quite large and look tasty. It's the first time it's fruited properly, so we're keen to see what they're like.

Daisy we had planned to go to the supermarket in person yesterday, but the weather was abysmal, and Sainsburys had spaces this afternoon! They have everything we ordered, but wanted to substitute extra mature cheddar with mature. We prefer extra mature so will be sending that back.
You are very welcome to join us for roast pork
The rain has started, so we have come into the conservatory for the next hour and a bit!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Daisy I must go and check on our plum trees, so far the squirrels haven’t attacked them. H and her parents have gone to Legoland which is a short drive from here quite close to Windsor. I can recommend it if you are down this way. Rain has stopped.
Lizzie, Horsefly bites are very painful and swollen. I thought they usually hang around animal dung, did you get it on a cycle ride?
Oma, you need a good ticking off, with only two of you and an occasional dog, your house can’t be needing that much cleaning.
Gemini, I always order too much when I have a delivery, not sure what the minimum amount is.
Not very pleasant weather, rain stopped but very dull, I will sort out the washing then settle down with my audible book or television.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I'm my own worst enemy, B has gave up trying to tell me it's all ok
Well we are just back from the most amazing lunch ,
We all opted for a roast except DD she had Tapas,
I ordered Lamb , I'm not a great lover but I must admit this was melt in the mouth,
Veg were cooked to perfection , proper roast potatoes and huge Yorkshire puddings again perfect with rich gravy ,
The Beef GS said was devine and Lucie's portion of chicken could feed a family of 4 .
I had fruit in elderflower syrup for dessert it was gorgeous.
Very expensive but worth it .
We would go again that's for sure.
It's very warm here no sign of rain yet.
Daisy how is the jam making going?Im not fat just 6ft too small
